given.The review was presented at the 43rd Rencontres de Moriond (QCD and High Energy Interactions),La Thuile,March 8-15,2008.TheB meson factories can in fact also be considered as charm and τfactories,as (a)≃99%of all B mesons decay to charm ﬁnal states,and (b)the cross sections of charm and τproduction in the continuum,i.e.e +e −→q s )state with L =1.However,the measured masses were found ≃100MeV too low compared to early quark models 5,and inspired more theoretical and experimental work.Recent analyses have investigated de-cays of higher-mass D sJ states not only into D s π,but also into D (∗)K ,i.e.corresponding to a Feynman diagram with an internally (rather than externally)created ua Throughout this paper charge conjugations are implied if not noted otherwise.(72±3(stat.)±1(syst.))%,which contradicts HQET.The reason might be given by the fact,that HQET assumes the c quark to be inﬁnitely heavy.However,it should be noted that the inter-pretation is not trivial,as the D-wave might also be suppressed by the centrifugal barrier.In any case,there is strong indication that the D s1(2460)and the D s1(2560)in fact are mixing, which might be considered surprising for two very narrow states(Γ≤1MeV)with a mass diﬀer-ence of∆m≃76MeV.As a by-product of this analysis,Belle reported theﬁrst observation of a three-body decay mode of the D sJ(2536),in the decay D s1(2536)→D∗0K+π−.1.3D sJ decays into DKThis category of decays(assuming L=0)favors the production of scalar D sJ states due to the two pseudoscalar mesons in theﬁnal state.Recently Belle reported the observation of a new D sJ meson,tentatively called D sJ(2700),in B+→8πf2Ds m2l m Ds(1−m2lTable1:Overview of recent measurements of the branching fraction for D+s→µ+νµand f Ds.f Ds(MeV)PDG067(6.74±0.83±0.26±0.66)·10−3Belle275±16±12(5.94±0.66±0.31)·10−3us).Belle recently continued20the investigation of theΞc(2980)with a data set of414fb−1in order to try to determine the nature of this state.TheΞc(2980)could be theﬁrst positive parity exci-tation of theΞc,or a higher(n≥2)radial excitation.A new decay modeΞc(2980)→Ξc(2645)πwas observed.Single pion transitions of such kind can give important hints for the assignment of quantum numbers.For example,the transitionΞc(2815)(J P=3/2−)→Ξc(ground state)πis forbidden,but the transitionΞc(2815)(J P=3/2−)→Ξc(2645)πis allowed.On the other hand, the double pion transitionΞc(2815)(J P=3/2−)→Ξc(ground state)ππis allowed in any case and thus less indicative for quantum number assignments.Assuming S-wave,the newly observed decay mode is predicted21dominant for theΞc1(J P=1/2+)state,and thus might favour an assignment of a positive parity.2τDecaysIn the simplest tree diagram,hadronicτdecays are given by aτ→νW transition,in which the virtual W boson forms a quark anti-quark pair qb The valence quark contents of theΞ+and theΞ0c are given by(usc)and(dsc),respectively.c2.1τdecays with anηin theﬁnal stateBelle recently improved22known branching fractions forτdecays withηand two additional pseudoscalar mesons by a factor4-6with a data set of485fb−1.For the decaysτ−→K−π0ηντandτ−→π−π0ηντbranching ratios of4.7±1.1(stat.)±0.4(syst.)·10−5and4.7±1.1(stat.)±0.4(syst.)·10−3were measured,respectively.The measurement of the branching fractions is very important for understanding of low energy QCD.In the case of three pseudoscalar mesons the branching fraction could be increased by a factor≥10by the Wess-Zumino-Witten anomaly23.2.2τdecays with anφin theﬁnal stateRecently BaBar published24an analysis ofτdecays into aφand an additional pseudoscalar meson with a data set of342fb−1.The decayτ−→φK−ντis Cabibbo suppressed by the CKM matrix element V us≃0.2.The measured branching fraction of3.39±0.20(stat.)±0.28(syst.)·10−5is consistent with an earlier Belle result25,and thus could be used as a reference for the branching fractions of even more rare processes.On the one hand,excluding the resonantφcontribution,an upper limit for the non-resonantτ−→K+K−K−ντof<2.5·10−6was obtained, indicating that theφlargely dominates the decay.On the other hand,aﬁrst measurement of the branching fraction of the OZI suppressed processτ−→φπ−ντwas performed with the result of3.42±0.55(stat.)±0.25(syst.)·10−5.References1.BaBar Collaboration,B.Aubert et
