六、忌不做检查，草草结束写出来的东西，很可能有不正确、不恰当的地方，因此，在答完卷时，至少应从以下几个方面认真检查：（1）对照题目要求，看全部要点是否都已包括进去，有无遗漏或误解；（2）文体格式是否正确规范；（3）词语使用是否合适、正确，有无语法与用词上的错误；（4）单词拼写、字母大小写有无错误，标点符号有无遗漏或用错等等。
总之，对书面表达应尽量做到：不跑题，不漏点，语言精简合习惯，书法整齐词有限，灵活表达要规范。
写作短文时，要注意审题，对写什么和怎么写必须有一个清晰的思路。
很多考生动笔就写，错了以后再涂改，严重影响卷面整洁，也影响了成绩；其次要在遣词造句上多下功夫。
尽可能运用较熟悉的词组、短语或成语；第三要力求变换各种句式，当然，也不能片面追求花哨文字，拼凑错误百出的句子，使成绩大打折扣；行文连贯是阅卷教师比较看重的一个方面。
要有好的开头和好的结尾；为了使文章结构严密，增强说服力和感染力，考生应该在句与句之间，恰当地使用一些过渡性词语。
另外，考生很容易出现句与句之间不使用连接词的错误，这是英语写作中的大忌。
最后，考生应该把写完的作文阅读两遍，认真检查是否有拼写方面的错误，是否有时态、语态方面的错误，是否存在中式英语等等。
作文的题材新颖、形式多样，主要侧重灵活性、实用性和多样性，主要有以下几种形式。
１、以图画提供情景的作文应以“看”为主，通过细心观察图中的人物、景物、文字、数字等，弄清写作的意图，通过分析思考把握逻辑联系，找出主题并借助所给的文字，把图中的信息转化成文章，但要注意，文章不能停留在图画的浅表，而要表达出提供情景的意图和内涵，即“文在图上、意在画外”，触景生情，文章才能有灵魂。
２、以图表提供情景的作文要以“读”为主，首先要读懂图表中的数据、时间、编码以及相互间的变化关系，对所给的信息加以分析、推断、筛选、概括、去粗取精；在写作时目的要明确，要注意内容的准确性和严肃性，尤其是图表中的数据、时间等不得有误。
