摘要:PURPOSE:To achieve an analysis at a high accuracy with a high sensitivity by a method wherein a sample in a reaction vessel undergoes an oxidative decomposition with the addition of KMnO4 heating it, H2O2 is added to the mixture heating it to dissipate I2 in the sample and then, Hg is analyzed by a recudtion-vaporization atomic absorption spectrometry. CONSTITUTION:For example, a sample solution 2 is placed into a reaction vessel 1 equipped with a funnel 4 for dropping a H2O2 aqueous solutiin 6 and a funnel 5 for dropping a KMnO4 solution 7 and a KMnO4 solution 7 is added to the solution heating it with a heat source 3 to perform an oxidative decomposition. After the oxidative decomposition, the H2O2 aqueous solution 6 is added to the mixture heating it to eliminate MnO2 generated from the oxidative decompositiin completely while iode contained in the solution 2 in isolated. The heating is continued to dissipate the isolated I2 through the opening of the vessel 1. The KMnO4 solution 6 is added to the solution becoming colorless with the dissipation of I2 to serve as catalyst so that the residual
H2O2 is decomposed into H2O and O2 and further, the residual iodine is dissipated in the form of isolated I2. This operation is repeatd to remove I2 completely and after the solution is cooled down to a fixed volume, a fixed amount is taken partially to analyze Hg accurately.
