It’s a sunny day. Mother Duck is sitting on her eggs. The eggs break and the little ducklings come out one by one.
But a duckling is different from others. It looks very ugly. It’s brothers and sisters dislike it. They often say “Go away, go away, you are so ugly.” The ugly duckling goes away... It feel sad and lonely.
The ugly duckling meet a big dog. “The dog will eat me.” But the dog shakes his head and runs away. The ugly duckling says, I am so ugly that the big dog doesn’t want to eat me.”
Autumn comes. One day, the ugly duckling comes to a river. Some white and big birds are flying. They’re swans. They are so beautiful. The ugly duckling envies them very much.
Winter comes. It becomes colder and colder. The ugly duckling is frozen（冻僵）in the river.
A farmer finds the ugly duckling and brings it to his home. The children of the farmer want to play with the ugly duckling, but it flies away.
Spring comes. Some beautiful swans are swimming in the river. The ugly duckling comes to them and says, “Kill me! I don’t want to live. I’m too ugly. I’m not happy at all.” The swans say to it, “You aren’t ugly. You are a beautiful swan. Look, at the water! You are so beautiful that we can’t compare with you.” says the swans.
