1.（前置定语）说明被修饰名词的用途和性能
a reading room= a room which is used for reading
表所修饰的人或物的动作或状态
a puzzling problem= a problem which puzzles sb
a sleeping baby= a baby who is sleeping

The water supply cut off yesterday made people have a hard time.
2.后置定语
The boy breaking the rule was punished by his teacher. = who broke the rule
比较1：I’m not familiar with the music played by the great musician. = which is played
被动省略同一主语和be动词
比较2：I attended the party held at Mary’s yesterday.
(过去)
I’ll attend the party to be held at Mary’s tomorrow.
（将来）
I am at the party being held at Mary’s now.
（现在）

1.表感觉和心理状态的感官动词
（see / look at / watch / notice /observe / listen to / hear / smell / feel / find ）+ 宾+doing

I saw the man crossing the road.
The man was seen crossing the road. 动作的一部分或正在进行2.表指使意义的使役动词
（have / keep / leave /get / set / send /catch）+宾+doing 表使宾语处于某种状态We kept the fire burning all night long.

3.介词with / without+宾语+ doing / done / to do
With my homework finished, I went fishing with my father. 被动/ 过去,完成With the boy leading the way, we have no trouble in getting to the station.
主动/ 现在,正在进行With so much homework to do, I can’t go to the party tonight.将来
