1.阅读理解
第1题.
The young boy saw me, or rather, he saw the car and quickly ran up to me, eager to sell his bunches
(串)of bananas and bags of peanuts. Though he appeared to be about twelve, he seemed to have already known the bitterness of life. "Bananas 300 naira. Peanuts 200 naira."
He said in a low voice. I bargained him down to 200 total for the fruit and nuts. When he agreed, I handed him a 500 naira bill. He didn't have change, so I told him not to worry. He said thanks and smiled a row of perfect teeth.
When, two weeks later, I saw the boy again, I was more aware of my position in a society where it's not that uncommon to see a little boy who should be in school standing on the corner selling fruit in the burning sun. My parents had raised me to be aware of the advantage we had been afforded and the responsibility it brought to us.
I pulled over and rolled down my window. He had a bunch of bananas and
a bag of peanuts ready. I waved them away. "What's up?" I asked him. "I (I)
don't have money to buy books for school." I reached into my pocket and handed him two fresh 500 naira bills.
"Will this help?" I asked. He looked around nervously before taking the money. One thousand naira was a lot of money to someone whose family probably made about 5, 000 naira or less each year. "Thank you, sir," he said. "Thank you very much!"
When driving home, I wondered if my little friend actually used the money for school-books. What if he's a cheat? And then I wondered why I did it. Did I do it to make myself feel better? Was I using him? Later, I realized that I didn't know his name or the least bit about him, nor did I think to ask.
Over the next six months, I was busy working in a news agency in northern Nigeria. Sometime after I returned, I went out for a drive. When I was about to pull over, the boy suddenly appeared by my window with a big smile ready on his face. "Oh, Gosh! Long time."
"Are you in school now?" I asked.
He nodded.
"That's good," I said. A silence fell as we looked at each other, and then I realized what he wanted. "Here," I held out a 500 naira bill. "Take this." He shook his head and stepped back as if hurt. "What's wrong?" I asked. "It's a gift."
He shook his head again and brought his hand from behind his back. His face shone with sweat
(汗水). He dropped a bunch of bananas and a bag of peanuts in the front seat before he said, "I've been waiting to give these to you."
(1)What was the author's first impression of the boy?
A: He seemed to be poor and mean.
B: He seemed to have suffered a lot.
C: He seemed younger than his age.
D: He seemed good at bargaining.
(2)The second time the author met the boy, the boy ______.
A: told him his purpose of selling fruit and nuts
B: wanted to express his thanks
C: asked him for money for his schoolbooks
D: tried to cheat him by his appearance
(3)Why did the author give his money to the boy?
A: Because he had enough money to do that.
B: Because he had learnt to help others since childhood.
C: Because he held a higher position in the society.
D: Because he had been asked by the news agency to do so.
(4)Which of the following best describes the boy?
A: Brave and polite.
B: Kind and smart.
C: Honest and thankful.
D: Shy and nervous.

第2题.
After spending 18 years protecting your children from various dangers on the road and off, you now face the prospect of handing them the car keys. It's time for them to learn how to drive. We can help you mold
(塑造)your teens into safe and capable drivers.
Our site contains information on driver licensing requirements for teens as well as ideas to help you—the parents—lay down the ground rules with your young driver before you hand over the car keys. Here you will find information on the most; common safety problems novice drivers should avoid. Educate yourself about the consequences of illegal alcohol use, the distracted
(分心的)driving, and much more.
Your teen sees a driver's license as a step toward freedom, but you might not be sure your teen is ready for the road. One thing is certain: teens aren't ready to have the same level of driving responsibility as adults. Teen drivers have a higher rate of serious crashes, mainly because of their immaturity, lack of skills and experience. They speed, make mistakes, and get distracted easily—especially if their friends are in the car. To help your teen stay safe behind the wheel, all 50 states have a graduated driver licensing
(GDL)system that limits high-risk driving situations for new drivers. This approach can reduce your teen's crash risks by as many as 50%.
What can you do? Learn about your state's GDL laws. Familiarizing yourself with the restrictions can better assist you in instructing your kids. You must establish ground rules for your teen driver. Prohibit driving while using the phone or other electronic devices, and require seat belt use at all times. Remind them that it is illegal to drink under 21, and it is illegal to drink and drive. If your child is under 21, his or her blood alcohol concentration
(BAC)should always be at 0.00, not just under 0.08.
(1)Who are the potential readers of the text?
A: Students.
B: Teachers.
C: Parents.
D: Doctors.
(2)What does the underlined phrase "novice drivers" in paragraph 2 probably mean?
A: Grown-up drivers.
B: Impatient drivers.
C: Excited drivers.
D: Unskilled drivers.
(3)What can we learn about teen drivers from paragraph 3?
A: They have no freedom without a driving license.
B: The GDL system can reduce most of their crash risks.
C: They perform worse with their friends in the car.
D: Driving with their friends in the car can avoid mistakes.
(4)What is the text mainly about?
A: Teens' driving.
B: Driving regulations.
C: Safe and high-risk driving.

第3题.
A new web standard is expected to kill passwords, meaning users will no longer have to remember difficult logins
(登陆)or each and every website or service they use.
The Web Authentication ( WebAuthn ) is designed to replace a password with a device that users already own, such as a security key, a smartphone, a fingerprint scanner or a webcam. Instead of having to remember an increasingly long string of characters, users can authenticate( z ) their login with their body or something they have in their possession, communicating directly with the website via Bluetooth , USB or NFC.
One example of how WebAuthn will work is that when a user visits a site they want to log on to, they input a user name and then get a warning on their smartphone. Tap on the alert on their phone, and then log them into the website without the need for a password. WebAuthn promises to protect users against phishing (网络钓鱼) attacks.
"After years of increasingly severe data breaches
(泄露), now is the time for service providers to end their dependency on vulnerable
(易受攻击的)passwords," said Brett McDowell, executive director of the FIDO alliance, one of the bodies pushing the new standard.
WebAuthn should also help people use unique login details for each and every service they use, instead of using the same login and password for every site, which leaves many people vulnerable to further attacks.
Several sites and services already use similar methods to log on, including Google and Facebook, which can both be logged on to using a USB security key. But a single cross-platform, cross-service standard means that many more sites and services will be able to kill passwords.
The change will not happen overnight. But as it increasingly seems unavoidable that present online services will be attacked, removing passwords
is an important step in improving online security and making using sites and services easier.
(1)How can WebAuthn help users?
A: It can help them from being attacked.
B: It can simplify the login steps.
C: It provides the same log.
D: It protects the users' private possession.
(2)What does the underlined word "alert" in Paragraph 3 mean?
A: Right choice.
B: Alternative.
C: Login password.
D: Warning.
(3)Who is Brett McDowell?
A: The director of the Web Authentication.
B: The inventor of a new password,
C: A supporter of the new web standard.
D: A service provider of vulnerable password.
(4)What does the passage mainly talk about?
A: Passwords are out of date.
B: How WebAuthn will work.
C: A new web standard designed to replace passwords.
D: Several sites and services which needn't passwords.

5.书面表达
第7题.
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

The easy way out isn't always easiest. I learned that lesson when I decided to treat my father to a special meal. I glanced through the cookbook and chose a menu which included homemade bread. Knowing the bread would take time, I started on it as soon as he left for work.
As I was not experienced in cooking, I thought if a dozen was good, two dozen would be better, so I doubled everything. As Dad loved oranges, I also opened a can of orange and poured it all into the bowl. Soon there was a sticky dough(面团)covered with ugly yellowish marks. Realizing I had been defeated, I put the dough in the rubbish bin outside so I wouldn't have to face him laughing at my work.
I went on preparing the rest of the meal, and, when Dad got home, we sat down to Cornish
chicken with rice. He tried to enjoy the meal but seemed disturbed. Twice he got up and went outside, saying he thought he heard a noise. The third time he left, I went to the windows to see what he was doing.
Looking out, I saw Dad standing about three feet from the rubbish bin, holding the lid up with a stick and looking into the container. When I came out of the house, he dropped the stick and explained that there was something alive in the rubbish bin. Picking up the stick again, he held the lid up enough for me to see. I felt cold. But I stepped closer and looked harder. Without doubt it was my work. The hot sun had caused the dough to double in size and the fermenting yeast(酵母)made the surface shake and sigh as though it were breathing. I had to admit what the"living thing" was and why it was there. I don 't know who was more embarrassed by the whole thing, Dad or me.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。

My dad tapped me gently on the shoulder, and we went inside.
At a party three months later, everyone wanted to try my bread.
【答案】第二节
