Tone & Style in Business Writing
Tone is the element in your writing which says something about the relationship you have with your reader/audience and the attitude you have towards the subject. The tone you adopt in your business communications is therefore very important. For example, in a business letter or spoken presentation, your tone will normally be respectful and cooperative. Your tone will reflect your position within the company.
A respectful, uncertain tone is usually used with your superiors, a more commanding tone is used with your subordinates, while with your colleagues a more friendly, helpful tone is used.
Style is the way you use words and expressions to achieve a certain effect or overall impression. Quite often, styles in writing can be seen as formal, neutral or informal..

For example, do they specialize in organizing group travels and conferences, arranging car hires and booking hotels, etc.? Secondly, experience of staff is also important. The experienced staff will provide a quality service. Thirdly, we need to consider charge. We can ask for the discount and save the cost.

Firstly, let's start with a typical scenario in a business negotiation. Imagine that you are negotiating with a potential client about a new business deal. Here is a sample conversation:
You: Good morning Mr. Smith, thank you for coming. It's great to have this opportunity to negotiate with you.
Mr. Smith: Good morning, Ms. Chen. The pleasure is mutual.

A: Right, that ends the third and final part of our presentation. I'd like to end by emphasizing the main points. I'll give you a brief summary. There are three potential areas for development in the future: domestic, overseas market, and the internet. Each of these markets have their own particular need for marketing strategy.... for domestic, we can rely on past research, for overseas markets we depend heavily on our cultural consultants, and for the internet, we need to redo our image to appeal to a young set of consumers. Our main issue here is that we need to be sensitive to the needs of different markets in order to continue to see success. Mark, did you have anything to add?

Office talk
Co-workers
Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses.
Larry always makes careless mistakes, and he's a pain to work with. But he's also very good at staying in budget on projects. Mary is smart and enthusiastic. No one is as cheery as she is. But, she spends projects money like there's no tomorrow. Also, she's never willing to stay a little later at the office. She always leaves at 5:00 pm sharp. As for Bob, even though he's fresh out of college and still a bit green,he is a hard worker, easy to get along with, honest, and he never steals the credit on projects. The only thing he's lacking in is experience.
To develop good relationships in the office, one of the most important things is just to be considerate of your co-workers' feelings and needs. If you are aware of other people and do your part, you should be able to get along with most of the people you work with. Remember, if you are negative and start name-calling in the office, it will make a bad working environment for everybody.

The Types of Business Presentations
By purpose, business presentations are divided into three categories: ◇To inform ◇To persuade ◇ To build goodwill
An introductory presentation about new software programs may convey little information to employees who have been slow to become computer literate. The fire department's awards banquet may indeed recognize the hard work of its members, but it may also represent an attempt to raise funds and recruit new volunteers. And the informative presentation that reports the status of a sports sponsorship public relations program may be an attempt to persuade the powers that be to increase the funding for the project.
