Ishiguro obtained his Bachelor's degree from University of Kent (肯特大学)in 1978 and his Master's from the University of East Anglia's(东 英吉利大学) creative writing course in 1980. He became a British citizen in 1982.
SOCIAL CONSTRAINTS
The novel does not present the situation of Stevens as simply a personal one. It seems clear that Stevens's position as butler, and servant, has gradually made it impossible for him to live a fulfilling emotional life. His father dies, and Stevens is too occupied with worrying about whether his butlering is being carried out correctly to mourn (something that he later reflects on with great pride).
prize for his novel The Remains of the Day.
WRITTING STYLE
Ishiguro's novels often end without any sense of resolution. The issues his characters confront are buried in the past and remain unresolved. Thus Ishiguro ends many of his novels on a note of melancholic resignation. His characters accept their past and who they have become, typically discovering that this realization brings comfort and an ending to mental anguish.

The Tug-of-War CompetitionIn the vibrant campus,a thrilling tug-of-war competition was about to unfold, filling the air with excitement and anticipation.Students from different classes gathered on the sports field, their eyes shining with determination and eagerness. The day was bright and sunny, casting a warm glow over the scene. The tug-of-war arena was marked out with chalk lines on the grassy field, and a thick, sturdy rope lay in the center, waiting to be grasped by the eager hands of the competitors. The atmosphere was electric as the students buzzed with excitement, discussing strategies and cheering for their classmates. As the competition began, the first two teams took their positions on either side of the rope. The teams were a mix of boys and girls, each one determined to give their best and bring victory to their class. The referee,a stern-looking physical education teacher, blew his whistle, and the intense battle commenced. The students dug their feet into the ground, their hands gripping the rope tightly.Their faces were contorted with effort as they pulled with all their might. The spectators cheered loudly, their voices echoing across the field. Some waved banners and flags, adding to the festive atmosphere. The teams strained against each other, the rope taut as a bowstring. For a moment,it seemed as if neither side would give in.But then, slowly but surely, one team began to gain the upper hand. With a final burst of energy, they pulled the rope over the marked line, claiming victory. The cheers of the winning team were deafening, while the defeated team looked on with a mixture of disappointment and admiration. As the competition progressed, the excitement only grew. Each match was a fierce battle of strength and strategy. Some teams relied on brute force, pulling with all their might from the start.Others adopted a more strategic approach, waiting for the right moment to make their move. There were moments of intense struggle, when it seemed as if the rope would never move again. And then there were sudden surges of power,as one team or the other found an extra reserve of strength. One particularly memorable match was between two evenly matched teams. The tug-of-war seemed to go on forever, with neither side giving an inch. The spectators were on the edge of their seats, their hearts pounding with excitement. The students on both teams were red-faced and sweating, but they refused to give up.In the end,it came down to a matter of endurance. The team that was able to hold on just a little longer emerged victorious,to the cheers and applause of the crowd.Throughout the competition, there were also moments of sportsmanship and camaraderie.Even though the teams were competing against each other, there was a sense of respect and friendship. When a team member fell down, opponents would quickly offer a hand to help them up.And after each match, regardless of the outcome, the teams would shake hands and congratulate each other on a good game.As the day wore on,the competition reached its climax. The final two teams, who had emerged victorious from their previous matches, faced off in a battle for the championship. The air was thick with tension as the students watched in silence, waiting for the referee's whistle. When itfinally blew, the two teams lunged forward, pulling with all their strength. The rope swayed back and forth,as if it couldn't decide which team to favor. But slowly, steadily, one team began to gain ground. With a final, heroic effort, they pulled the rope over the line, claiming the championship title. The cheers that erupted were deafening. The winning team was lifted up on the shoulders of their classmates, their faces beaming with pride. The losing team, although disappointed, congratulated their opponents with grace and dignity. The tug-of-war competition had not only been a test of strength and strategy, but also a lesson in sportsmanship and teamwork. As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the sports field, the students slowly dispersed. But the memories of the intense battles, the cheers of the crowd, and the spirit of competition would linger on for a long time. The tug-of-war competition had brought the students together, creating bonds of friendship and camaraderie that would last throughout their high school years. In conclusion, the tug-of-war competition was a memorable event that showcased the strength, determination, and sportsmanship of the students. It was a day filled with excitement, laughter, and a sense of unity. As the students left the field, they carried with them the memories of a great day and the knowledge that they were part of a community that could come together and achieve great things.。

关于做善事的名言英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Value of Kindness: Exploring Quotes on Doing Good DeedsAs students, we are often inundated with academic expectations, peer pressure, and the constant pursuit of success. In this whirlwind of responsibilities, it's easy to lose sight of the simple yet profound act of doing good deeds for others. However, throughout history, numerous wise individuals have emphasized the importance of kindness and its positive impact on our lives and the world around us.One of the most poignant quotes on this subject comes from the Dalai Lama, who said, "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible." These few words carry a powerful message: kindness is not a luxury but a choice we can make at any given moment. It reminds us that even in the most challenging circumstances, there is always an opportunity to extend a helping hand or offer a compassionate gesture.Similarly, the renowned author and humanitarian, Maya Angelou, once said, "Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud." This beautifully metaphorical quote encourages us to be a source of light and hope for those who may be going through difficult times. By performing acts of kindness, we have the potential to brighten someone's day and uplift their spirits, much like a rainbow piercing through the gloomy clouds.Another quote that resonates deeply with me is from the late Nelson Mandela, who stated, "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead." This profound statement challenges us to think beyond our own personal ambitions and consider the impact we can have on others through our actions and deeds. One might argue that small acts of kindness, such as holding the door for someone or offering a compliment, are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. However, as the famous writer and civil rights activist, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., eloquently stated, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" These words remind us that even the smallest gestures can hold great significance and contribute to creating a more compassionate and united society.Interestingly, the benefits of doing good deeds extend beyond the recipient – they also positively impact the giver. As the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu, wisely observed, "Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love." By engaging in acts of kindness, we not only spread goodwill but also cultivate positive qualities within ourselves, such as confidence, depth of thought, and a capacity for love. It's worth noting that doing good deeds is not limited to grand gestures or monetary contributions. Sometimes, the simplest acts can have the most profound impact. As the renowned author, J.K. Rowling, beautifully expressed, "Small acts of kindness and love can make a difference in someone's day, and we should never underestimate the power of a simple smile or a kind word." A genuine smile or a heartfelt compliment can brighten someone's day and leave a lasting impression. Moreover, the act of doing good deeds can be contagious, inspiring others to follow suit and creating a ripple effect of positive change. As the famous American author and activist, Helen Keller, once said, "I am only one, but still, I am one. I cannot do everything, but still, I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I cando." This quote reminds us that each individual has the power to make a difference, and by collectively contributing what we can, we can create a more compassionate and just world. In our journey as students, we are constantly learning and growing, not only academically but also as individuals. The quotes explored in this essay serve as powerful reminders of the importance of kindness and doing good deeds, not just for the benefit of others but also for our own personal growth and fulfillment.By incorporating these wise words into our daily lives, we can strive to be more mindful of the impact our actions have on those around us. Whether it's offering a helping hand to a classmate struggling with an assignment, volunteering in our local community, or simply extending a gesture of kindness to a stranger, we have the power to make a positive difference. As we navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, let us remember the words of the late Princess Diana, who said, "Carry out a random act of kindness, with no expectation of reward, safe in the knowledge that one day someone might do the same for you." By embracing this spirit of selflessness and compassion, we can not only enrich the lives of others but alsocreate a ripple effect of positive change that may one day come back to us in unexpected ways.In conclusion, the quotes explored in this essay serve as a powerful reminder of the value and importance of doing good deeds. They challenge us to look beyond our own self-interests and consider the impact our actions can have on others. By embracing kindness and compassion, we not only contribute to creating a better world but also cultivate positive qualities within ourselves, such as confidence, love, and a sense of purpose. As students and future leaders, let us strive to embody these wise words and make a lasting difference in the lives of those around us.篇2Famous Quotes on Doing Good DeedsAs a student, I've always been inspired by quotes and sayings that motivate me to be a better person and make a positive impact on the world around me. One theme that resonates strongly with me is the idea of doing good deeds –selfless acts that benefit others without expecting anything in return. Throughout history, many wise individuals have shared their thoughts on the importance of kindness, generosity, andcompassion. In this essay, I'll explore some of the most powerful and thought-provoking quotes on doing good deeds, and what they mean to me."No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." –AesopThis quote from the ancient Greek fabulist Aesop reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a difference. It's easy to think that our individual efforts are insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but Aesop's words remind us that every good deed, no matter how seemingly trivial, has the potential to create ripples of positivity. Whether it's holding the door open for someone, offering a genuine compliment, or helping a classmate with a difficult assignment, these small acts of kindness can brighten someone's day and inspire them to pay it forward."We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." – Winston ChurchillThis quote from the legendary British Prime Minister Winston Churchill highlights the distinction between merely existing and truly living a fulfilling life. While earning a living and providing for our basic needs is essential, Churchill suggests that true life satisfaction comes from the act of giving – whether it'sour time, resources, or talents. By sharing what we have with others, we not only make a positive impact on their lives but also derive a sense of purpose and meaning for ourselves."The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." – Mahatma GandhiMahatma Gandhi, the iconic leader of the Indian independence movement, offers a profound perspective onself-discovery through selfless service. Often, we become so preoccupied with our own desires and ambitions that we lose sight of our true selves. Gandhi suggests that by shifting our focus outward and dedicating ourselves to the service of others, we can paradoxically find our true purpose and identity. When we transcend our own self-interest and embrace the act of giving, we gain a deeper understanding of our values, strengths, and what truly matters in life."The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." – Ralph Waldo EmersonThis quote from the American essayist and poet Ralph Waldo Emerson challenges the notion that happiness should be the ultimate goal in life. Instead, Emerson suggests that weshould strive to be useful, honorable, and compassionate – to leave a positive mark on the world through our actions and deeds. By embracing a life of service and kindness, we can find true fulfillment and a sense of purpose that transcends mere personal happiness. Emerson's words remind us that our legacy is not just about what we accumulate for ourselves, but about the positive impact we have on others and the world around us."We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men." – Herman MelvilleHerman Melville, the acclaimed American novelist, poetically captures the interconnectedness of humanity in this quote. We are all part of a vast web of relationships, bound together by countless invisible fibers that link our lives and experiences. Melville's words remind us that our actions, both good and bad, have ripple effects that extend far beyond our immediate circles. By embracing a mindset of compassion and kindness, we can strengthen those fibers and create a more harmonious and supportive society. As a student, these quotes on doing good deeds resonate deeply with me. They remind me that true fulfillment and purpose in life come not from pursuing personal gain or material possessions, but from dedicating ourselves to the service ofothers. Whether through small acts of kindness or larger acts of service, we have the power to make a positive impact on the world around us.Of course, it's easy to be inspired by these quotes, but the real challenge lies in putting their wisdom into practice. As students, we often face numerous demands on our time and energy, from academic pressures to extracurricular activities and social commitments. However, by consciously making room for acts of kindness and service in our daily lives, we can cultivate a mindset of compassion and generosity that will not only benefit others but also enrich our own lives.Perhaps we can start by being more mindful of opportunities to help our classmates, whether by offering a listening ear or sharing our notes with someone who missed a class. We could also explore volunteering opportunities in our local communities, lending our time and talents to causes that resonate with us. Even small gestures, like picking up litter or donating gently used items, can make a difference.Ultimately, the power of these quotes lies in their ability to inspire us to look beyond ourselves and embrace a life of service and compassion. By doing so, we not only contribute to creating a better world but also gain a deeper sense of purpose andself-discovery. As students, we have the opportunity to shape the future – and what better way to do so than by embodying the timeless wisdom of those who have championed the importance of doing good deeds?篇3Famous Quotes on Doing Good Deeds"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted." - AesopThese words from the ancient Greek fabulist Aesop have echoed through the ages, reminding us of the profound impact that even the smallest acts of compassion can have. As a student, I have come to appreciate the wisdom distilled in such quotes that encourage us to embrace the transformative power of kindness. In our fast-paced world, it's all too easy to become consumed by our own pursuits and aspirations, losing sight of the fundamental truth that we are all interconnected. However, the sages and philosophers of generations past have left us with a treasure trove of insights that compel us to pause, reflect, and consider the immense significance of selfless actions."The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others." - Mahatma GandhiGandhi's words strike a chord deep within me, for they speak to the inherent human yearning for purpose and fulfillment. In the relentless pursuit of personal ambitions, we often lose touch with our authentic selves, allowing our identities to become defined by external markers of success. Yet, paradoxically, it is in the act of giving – of transcending our own desires to uplift others – that we rediscover our true essence and find genuine contentment. As a student, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of service on my peers and myself. Whether it's volunteering at a local shelter, tutoring underprivileged children, or organizing a campus clean-up drive, the act of extending a helping hand has an almost magical effect. It fosters a sense of community, cultivates empathy, and instills a deep-rooted appreciation for the interconnectedness of all life."We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston ChurchillChurchill's poignant words underscore the fundamental distinction between mere existence and truly living. While the pursuit of material gain may ensure our survival, it is the selflessact of giving that imbues our lives with meaning and richness. By contributing to the well-being of others, we forge enduring connections and create a legacy that transcends the fleeting trappings of wealth and status. As students, we are often inundated with messages that prioritize individual achievement and success. Yet, these quotes remind us that true fulfillment lies not in accumulating accolades, but in leaving an indelible mark on the world through acts of compassion and service."The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention." - Oscar WildeWilde's words resonate profoundly, for they remind us that good intentions, however noble, are ultimately rendered hollow without corresponding actions. It is the tangible manifestation of kindness, no matter how seemingly insignificant, that holds the power to inspire, uplift, and create ripples of positivity throughout our communities. In the classroom, on the playground, or in our interactions with peers and mentors, we are constantly presented with opportunities to put these words into practice. A simple gesture, such as offering a listening ear to a struggling classmate or lending a hand to a teacher in need, can have a profoundlyuplifting effect, reminding us that the true measure of our character lies not in grand gestures, but in the consistent practice of empathy and compassion."Wherever there is a human being, there is an opportunity for kindness." - SenecaSeneca's words resonate with a universal truth – that every single person we encounter represents a chance to spread kindness and make a positive impact. It is a powerful reminder that the potential for good deeds is not confined to specific circumstances or contexts, but rather permeates every aspect of our lives. As students, we are fortunate to be surrounded by a rich tapestry of diverse individuals, each with their own unique stories, struggles, and aspirations. By embracing Seneca's wisdom, we can cultivate a mindset of empathy and compassion, seeking out opportunities to extend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply lend a non-judgmental ear.In the end, these timeless quotes serve as guiding beacons, illuminating the path towards a life well-lived – one characterized by kindness, generosity, and a deep commitment to the betterment of humanity. As students, we have the privilege and responsibility to imbibe these lessons, carrying them forwardinto our future endeavors and serving as agents of positive change in our communities and the world at large.。

Netstat -a -e -n -o -s-an-a

Quote of the Day
“Ignorance of the law is no excuse in any
country. If it were, the laws would lose their
effect because it can always be pretended.”
33
Creating a Partnership
/ 天津塔吊租赁河北塔吊租赁西安塔吊租赁塔吊租赁/
•The association of two or more persons to carry on as co-owners a business for profit forms a
partnership, whether or not the persons intend
to form a partnership.
•To be a partnership, the participants must share profits.
–Profits count, not revenues.
33

Partnership by Estoppel
•Partnership by estoppel applies if:
–Participants tell other people that they are partners
(even though they are not), or they allow other people
to say, without contradiction, that they are partners.
– A third party relies on this assertion; and
–The third party suffers harm.
33
Terminating a Partnership
•Partnership at Will vs. Term Partnership
–Partnership at Will --the partners have not agreed in
advance how long their partnership will last; any of
them may leave at any time.
–Term Partnership --the partners have decided on a
length of time or a particular task to be completed; the
partnership automatically ends at the end of the time
or task.
33
Dissociation
•Dissociation occurs if a partner quits.
•When one or more partners dissociate, the
partnership can either buy out the departing
partner(s) and continue in business or wind up
the business and terminate the partnership.
• A partner always has the power to leave a
partnership but may not have the right.
33
Dissociation
•Rightful Dissociation
–Partner in a partnership at will gives notice that he
intends to withdraw.
–Partners agree in advance on events that will cause
dissociation.
–Partner dies or becomes incompetent.
–Partner is expelled by the other partners.
•Wrongful Dissociation
–Partner violates the partnership agreement.
–Partner withdraws before the end of the term.
–Court expels a partner in a term partnership due to
harmful behavior.
33
–Partner in a term partnership is bankrupt.
Continuation of Partnership Business
•Financial Settlement
–If the partnership decides to continue, it must pay the
ex-partner the value of her share of the business.
•Liability of the dissociated partner to outsiders
for debts incurred before dissociation
– A dissociated partnership is liable to outsiders for
debts incurred during her term as a partner, but the
partnership must indemnify her for these debts.
33
Continuation of Partnership Business (cont’d)•Liability of Dissociated Partner for Debts Incurred
After Dissociation
– A dissociated partner is liable to outsiders for partnership debts incurred within two years after she leaves, but only if
the creditor reasonably believes she is still a partner.
–Partnership must indemnify her for these debts.
•Liability to the Partnership
–If the ex-partner harms the partnership after she leaves,
33
she is liable for the damage.
Termination of the Partnership Business •Ending a partnership business involves three
steps:
–Dissolution--decision to end business; can be
voluntary or automatic.
–Winding Up--During the winding up process, all debts
of the partnership are paid, and the remaining
proceeds are distributed to the partners.
–Termination--the end; happens when winding up is
33
complete.
“Partnerships are common. You
need to know how to form a
partnership, how to avoid
forming one, and how to exit
without legal or financial
penalty.”
33。
