Play the song my heart will go on to arouse student’s interest to learn this passage.
What does this song remind you of ? What happened to Titanic? Another explanation for its si nking is because of the curse of mummy which was taken on the ship by a businessman. Explain the meaning of curse
Curse is a word that has a magic power to make sth. bad happen. For example: If someone ha tes you, he will say you won’t pass the examination tomorrow. That is a curse. Do you think i t really works?
Reading comprehension
1. Prediction
Today we’ll learn the special curse, the curse of the mummy.
Look at the title, can you guess what the article is about?
What more information can we get from the first paragraph?
1.Introduction of Carter.
Read paragraph 1 to know the main idea.

5 Playing video
Carter was at the gate of the tomb. Let’s following him to get into it. After students finish wa tching , ask questions: what are there in the tomb? What would you do if you see these treasu res? What did they do according to paragraph 3? Is it right to empty other’s tomb of everythi ng? Were they lucky although they became rich?
6 Reading paragraphs 4 and 5
Read it and fill in the blanks and pay attention to the right form.

用法
