The Pursuit of Happyness movie review
当幸福来敲门(the pursuit of happiness)影评
This movie has a political setting. Before watching this movie, I’ve already heard of and shocked by the words in the declaration of independence: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, and there are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. By the time I watched this movie, I could even recite paragraphs of the declaration.Frankly it was merely interest that appeals to me when I first got to know about the declaration. I copied the first two pages down neatly on my notebooks and struggled to find the connection between sentences. It was hard, let alone the effort to find the relevant connection between those rare words and the foundation of a nation, which stands as the sole super pole in the world now, with a history of less than 300 years. The pursuit of happiness, it sounds strange compared with the strong and short words followed by it. Life and liberty, two clichés in the declarations or announcements concretely exist in our mind. However thinking of pursuit of happiness, chaos stirs in my mind. While the two nouns can be interpreted statically, the pursuit of happiness never exists without action. Just like what Will Smith tries to tell. The setting of the story is common, an average man undergoing obstacles in family life and work. The success of individuals varies while failures often have something to share. The difference of success and failure just lies in the fact that the success acts unique when faced with the same experience, which is called pursuit. What face Chris are consistent dilemma, misfortune and jokes of life. When we bystanders are indifferently watching, Chris holds tough. When we bystanders are shockingly moved, Chris still holds tough. Experiencing toughness, Chris is always equally or even overwhelmingly tough. He lost hiswife, while he kept his son tough. He lost his job, while he kept hunting tough. He fought aggressively on his narrow way to the success. When his car was pulled away he tried his best, seized the last chance to sell another scanner though he hadn’t sold any one out for long. That’s what we call to pursue, to pursue happiness. I still remember what Chris said about happiness: in happiness, there’s an “I” not “y”. In the process of pursuing of happiness, there’s no point in asking why. You are the ultimate and only answer, and eventually, Chris found himself, then the world found him, too. There’s no need for a consideration of the structure or plot of the story. The story itself stands vividly as a description of the pursuit of happiness. An inspiring story developed in this way is well enough to live up to the words in the declaration that all men are granted an unalienable right to pursue happiness. Christ is only an individual example of the fulfilment. What the movie tries to sell is another case of American dream that consistently inspired all generations of America.。
英语影评 当幸福来敲门
The comment on film——《The Pursuit of Happiness》The Pursuit of Happiness is an inspirational movie which narrates a story that a father,Chris Gardner, succeeds in business regardless of the failure of marriage and constantly strikes and hits in jobs.Chris is a clever salesman who is always hardworking. Despite his diligence in work, he can’t make ends meet, thus his wife leaves him and his 5-year-old son. Lost in business, becoming a single father, Chris can’t live an easy life. There is only 21 dollars in his account . With no money to pay his rent, he and his son have to move out of the apartment. What impressed me most is that they even have to spend the night living in the park or the public toilet. Without money to pay for food, they stay in the line to accept handouts. No matter how hard their life is, his son always has faith in his father. Chris never feels upset in front of his son but bursts into tears silently. And he believes that as long as he works hard, the happiness is just around the corner.God helps whoever helps them, Chris eventually becomes a successful investment professionals.Although there is no appearance of beautiful actors andactresses, no great pictures and sweet moving background music, it is a good story that educates and impresses us deeply.I learn from the story that once you have a dream, you’ve got to protect it. People can't do something by themselves; they want to tell you can not do it. So don’t be afraid to realize your dream. If Y ou want something, Go get it!。
The Pursuit of Happiness(当幸福来敲门)经典电影英文影评
The Pursuit of Happiness(当幸福来敲门)2006With a title like The Pursuit of Happiness, you expect the characters to get to the promised land. They do, but if the journey matters more than the destination, this is a movie to skip. The Pursuit of Happyness is long, dull, and depressing. It expands into two hours a story that could have been told more effectively in one. This is not the feel-good movie of the season unless you believe that a few moments of good cheer can redeem 110 minutes of gloom. Sitting through The Pursuit of Happiness is a chore. Downbeat movies aren't inherently bad (in fact, many are powerful), but this one provides artificial characters in contrived circumstances. How is it that movies "inspired by a real story" often feel more fake than those fully embedded in the realm of fiction? Will Smith has generated Oscar buzz for his portrayal of Chris Gardner, the real-life guy whose rags-to-riches story forms the basis of the movie. (Impoverished guy becomes capitalist poster boy.) While it's fair to say that this is one of the best straight performances of Smith's career, it didn't blow me away. In and of itself, the acting, while effective, is not Best Actor material, but it wouldn't surprise me if the movie's prestige factor and Smith's popularity earn him a nod. Meanwhile, his female co-star, Thandie Newton, isn't going to be considered for any award. Newton spends about 90% of her screen time doing an impersonation of a harpy: screeching, bitching, and contorting her face into unpleasant expressions. Smith's son, Jaden, is okay as the movie's child protagonist; it's unclear whether his occasional deficiencies are the result of his acting, Steven Conrad's writing, or Gabriele Muccino's direction, but there's not much personality behind the cute features and curly hair.Chris Gardner (Will Smith) is down on his luck. It's 1981 San Francisco and his self-employed business of selling portable bone density scanners isn't doing well. His wife, Linda (Thandie Newton), does nothing but yell at him and give him a cold shoulder, and the lack of domestic harmony is impacting the disposition of his beloved son, Christopher (Jaden Christopher Syre Smith). That's when Chris' life turns into a country song. His wife leaves. He is evicted from his home. He goes to jail, neither passing GO nor collecting a much-needed $200. He gets hit by a car. He is robbed. He makes his son cry. He alienates a friend over $14. He gets to spend a night in the cleanest public restroom in the history of public restrooms. But there's a bright spot, although you need a dark-adapted eye to find it. Despite having no experience, Chris applies to enter an internship program at Dean Witter. He would appear to have no chance to get in until he amazes the head of the program (Brian Howe) by solving the Rubik's Cube puzzle in the back of a taxi cab. It's a blessing that the movie doesn't use a stock villain to impede Chris' herky-jerky trip to the top, because that would have tipped the movie into the empire of the unwatchable. However, the lack of a strong conflict makes the two-hour running length seem very long. Thankfully, there's also not much in the way of overt melodrama, but that could be a byproduct of having characters who are not deeply realized and have narrow emotional ranges. It's tough to connect with Chris and his son. Although they are played by a real-life father and son, there's no chemistry between them. We're constantly told how desperately Chris loves Christopher, but it takes a long time before we begin to buy it. Most of the time, Christopher seems like an annoying piece of baggage that Chris drops off at daycare when he has other things to do.The film's most compelling scenes are those that show Chris struggling to enter the rat race. Granted, this is no Glengarry Glen Ross, but it shows the pressure these salesmen are under and how important the contact lists are. In the overall scheme of things, however, these sequences are background noise. They are neither plentiful nor lengthy. The movie spends more time following Chris on his futile sales rounds for the bone density scanner than it does accompanying him during his broker training. The moral of the story is as trite as they come: don't let anyone convince you to give up on your dreams. Disney animated films have been doing this better for decades. The Pursuit of Happyness concludes with a caption that tells us what happens to Chris after the end of the movie; it promises a better story than the one we have just watched. The film is also marred by a persistent (although not verbose) voiceover that adds nothing to the story while frequently jerking us out of the experience of watching it. I don't need Will Smith telling me: "This part of the story is called 'riding the bus.'"This is the English-language debut of Gabriele Muccino, who has made a name for himself in Italian cinema. The Pursuit of Happiness has the kind of slow, drab tone one occasionally associates with a director raised outside of the Hollywood system. What can be an asset in some circumstances is a detriment in this one. The Pursuit of Happiness isn't enjoyable, and its meager pleasures, including the eventual "payoff," aren't enough to justify the unrelenting misery. The Pursuit of Happiness is competently made and gets lots of the details right, but when it comes to the emotional core of the story, it loses the pursuit and misses the "happiness."No.2 The Pursuit of Happiness(当幸福来敲门)2006Will Smith plays a San Francisco medical equipment salesman who resolves to change his life and become a stockbroker, but is made homeless in the processThe sort of film the Oscars are designed for, The Pursuit Of Happiness should induce nausea. There's the cheesy dialogue ("You want something, go get it - period!"). There's the annoying title, with its deliberate misspelling (a reference to a slogan seen on a wall that becomes the film's mantra). And there's the father and son acting combo of Will Smith and seven-year-old Jaden, who between them serve unapologetically as an advert for the American dream. Yet thanks to Italian director Gabriele Muccino, in his first Hollywood outing, the film holds firm.Set in San Francisco in 1981, at a time when the Rubik's Cube is sweeping the nation, the film is inspired by the real-life story of one Chris Gardner (Smith). A struggling Bay Area salesman, Gardner's product is a "portable bone density scanner", a box of tricks which he believes doctors will soon be clamouring for. But luck deserts Gardner alongside his wife Linda (Newton) and a hippie girl steals one of his scanners.Left with custody of his five-year-old son Christopher (Smith), Gardner is desperate to be a good father, as he didn't know his own Dad until he was 28. A chance encounter with a stockbroker inspires Gardner to change career and secure an internship at a brokerage. Remarkably, he manages to get onto the six-month course, but it's a gamble. "There was no salary," he says. "Not even a reasonable promise of a job." Forced to sell his remaining machines on the weekends, he and Christopher live on the poverty line, and are evicted after Gardner is hit with a crippling tax bill. Looked at cynically, the film boasts one of those heavyweight performances that Hollywood A-list stars occasionally offer in a quest for cachet. In this case Smith lets his hair go grey to convince us that this is no vanity project. But bonding convincingly (as you might expect) with his own son on screen, Smith delivers his most compelling performance since Ali in 2001. Playing Gardner as a decent, honest man who refuses to let life grind him down, it's an inspirational turn. With Muccino (best known for 2001's L'Ultimo Bacio, which was remade in the US in 2005 as The Last Kiss) in charge, Smith's acting is shorn of the usual high-energy tics that have blighted his work. So enchanting is the performance that it overshadows the film's more problematic and manipulative moments, notably the contention that capitalism holds the key to happiness. But this is Will Smith doing Kramer Vs. Kramer and the film never allows us to contemplate its dubious nature for too long.VerdictBetween Muccino's sensitive direction and Smith and son's expertly calibrated performances, The Pursuit Of Happiness manages to win you over with a flurry of feel good emotions.。

The Pursuit of Happyness
When I thought back the beginning of the movie in Chinatown, Chris pointed at the word happiness on the wall, talking to a Chinese that: There is no “Y〞 in happiness, it is an “I〞.Come to think of it, we are always asking ourselves why when we have found others in happiness .
movie review—the pursuit of happiness
So from the two views we should know that when we do anything, we must be active, and if not, the bad result, just like the result in the film, would be coming ruthlessly.
A view shows that he runs for his work for selling a machine
Another view that shows his running for the sleep place, what a pity that he was too late, and the end is that he sleep in the toilet with his little son and keep the toilet door close stubbornly.
The film brings me a good deal of enlightenment. From it ,I appreciate what is the poverty , what is the comedown, and what is finding hope in hopelessness. I also see opptunities rely on our own efforts .There is no free lunch. We should live with dignity in our lives .Stress, pain and misfortunes are gifts God gives us .Only to experience personally, we would obtain the happiness lost long long time ago!
第一篇:当幸福来敲门英文影评(范文)The Pursuit of HappynessRecently, I have saw a movie in English optional course, named “The Pursuit of Happyness”, I was impressed by the film. It is said that the film based on a true story. The hero of the story is an American blacks investment expert named Chris Gardner. The movie mainly tells a story of Chris grow from the deadbeat company salesman into a well-known financial investors. In his life ,Chris Gardner have to go on hospitals every day, by selling bone density scanners. And his perseverance and smart, make he get a internship opportunities to securities company. But interns have 20 people, they have to work without pay for six months, finally can only one person be hired, it is really difficult for Chris Gardner. At this time, his wife can't stand the poor life, went to New York alone. Because of extreme poverty ,Chris Gardner and his son lost their homes live a life of running here and there. He sells bone density scanner as a daliy spending and then he must go to church to be a church relief housing. And Chris Gardner is very optimistic, and educated his son don't lose heart. Relyon his own efforts, Chris Gardner finally stand out access to the stock broker's work, and he set up his own company later. With a deep impression in the movie is that Chrise’s life attitude :for dream never give up. On the basketball court heeducate his son. He said “Don't ever let somebody tell you, you can't do something, not even me. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can't do something by themselves, they wanna tell you you can not do it.If You want something. Go get it!”we are unique and we all hold a dream and do what you want do ,and do your best ,don’t ever let somebody tell you that you can’t do something .If you want something , no matter how hard the process go and get it. As long as we don't give up, we will win finally. And no matter how hard the life was, Chris never leave his son, his family or his brief behind. Even they had to spend the night living in the public toilet. Although under great pressure , Chris chose to stick it out, and fight for what he known he could do for him and for his son. He is strong in spirit whatever barriers he meet .He just continued his work and never stopped struggle .but it looks like that god likes to play tricks with him he had gone through more hardships than others before the final success . It is said that the move is from a true story ,so we should believe the sentence that “Everything is possible”. In the end Chris finally made his dream come true ,he became a stockbroker. As for us , I believe if we never give up, our dream can come true one day.The Pursuit of Happyness is really an excellent movie , after watching it , My heart can’t calm down for a long time.it makes me see the hero's optimism, strong, confident, and never give up, but also realized the world indifference, helpless and difficult. Business failure, wife's abandonment, the distress of life does not beat the hero .On the contrary, suffering experience makes him become more self-confident, firm faith, never give up when he in trouble. Finally when the happiness comes to, he firmly grasp his own happiness. I think Chris is a good example for all of us ,just be optimistic and go to realize your dream. In this world, everything is a process from quantitative change to qualitative change, so happy, when we envy other people lucky at the same time, may not be seen in the process of it along the way, how much to others. When we were watching TV when we are in the entertainment, when we are in chat... Perhaps others are working on business, perhaps is to get specializedknowledge, may be to target a fight... We often only see others successful phenomenon, seldom see someone behind the success of hard. One hundred people, one hundred people different way of life, and there are one hundred kinds of different interpretations of happiness, you choose what kind of life, what kind of action is required. So don't blindly admire others' success, if you want to succeed, if you also want to do their own happiness, then start from every little bit, starts from the nearest target, insist! Insist on! Hold on! When happiness to knock at the door one day, you can not hesitate to hold her, at that time, you also will become the eyes of others. The film has taught me a lot, not only the attitude when faced with unfortunate , but also let me understand the true meaning of happiness that is between family members. Your happiness depends on our own to pursue. Time goes by, how was yesterday? Only we know, today what I have to hold.As long as we are holding the attitude like this: "Everything will be ok", believe that and work hard, we will have our own happiness!第二篇:《当幸福来敲门》英文影评A Review of《The Pursuit of Happiness》I have seen《The Pursuit of Happiness》several days ago , but I can‟t forget Chris and his spirits until now . To be honest , this move is really a big shock to me , and the strong power in Chris has been influencing me all the time .Characters and the climate There are mainly three characters : Chris Gardner 、Christopher、Linda ,and the leading character is Chris Gardner ,the father. The whole atmosphere is positive ,though there is a large part describing the bitter struggles of Chris ,his spirit is inspiring , and there is no disappear but hope and stable belief in happiness.Development of eventsThe story of Chris Gardner is divided into six part ,I will introduce them one by one . Gardner is a salesman for a piece of medical equipment whichis too expensive for what it is worth. After going months without any sales, his wife decides to start a better life, leaving him alone to raise their son, Christopher (Jaden Smith). After Gardner's wife leaves, he continues to try to sell the medical device. He then sees an opening to his future as a stock broker. The only problem is that, in order to be considered for the job, he must complete a highly competitive, six-month, unpaid internship. He does everything he can to prove to his boss, himself, and his son, that he can be a better man, even if this means living in hotels, homeless shelters, or even the bathroom of a subway station. While completing the internship, he continues to attempt to sell the equipment to make ends meet and pay for his son's day care. This is a classic story of a family living in poverty working their way up the social ladder towards happiness, and doing whatever it takes to reach the top.One of the main messages of "The Pursuit of Happiness" is 'never give up.' Chris Gardner goes from just barely having enough money to pay the rent to having nothing but the clothes on his back, and the love and faith of his son. Gardner was able to dodge anything and everything that life threw at him and became a top stock broker. This film is not as much about finding a job and making money as much has a lot on its mind but mostly this: If America is about the promise of bettering oneself, why does it have to be so freaking hard? In the movie, Jefferson's Declaration of Independence words about happiness kept recurring to Chris Gardner. Every day, Christ had to work hard from morning till night, but still could hardly make a living. Chris saw a bunch of suits, mostly male, pouring out of the Dean Witter Reynolds brokerage firm in downtown San Francisco. They all looked “happy,”“Why not me? “Christ wondered. He did have an adorable boy, Christopher, but wife Linda was becoming a scarecrow of overworked anxiety. Finally, his wife left Christ because of life pressure, leaving him andher five-year-old son, Christopher. And naturally, Christ became a single father. With the failure of his business, Christ had no money to pay for the rent, so they were driven away from the flat. They became homeless. They slept in asylum, subway station public bathroom or anywhere as a temporary shelter. The destitution of life was absolutely depressing, but for his son‟s future, for his own belief, Christ never gave up and he still strongly believed that happiness would come one day if he worked hard enough today. With his great efforts, Christ won a six-month internship at Dean Witter, but there was no pay at all. So on one hand, Christ had to work hard to make a living; on the other hand, he had to fight for his intern work, since only one of the twenty interns would succeed finally. Besides, he had to take good care of his son after day care. However, Christ made it with his amazing willpower.Christ was unfortunate, for he got a wife who was not understandable at all (though she has her own difficulties) and was in bad luck with his business. But he was very fortunate also, for he got a son who was very thoughtful and, I think, tough life experiences always make a great person. It is said that this movie is inspired by a true story, and I want to say, this movie does inspire me a lot. What impressed me most are: Christ‟s wife left him because of life pressure; Christ‟s love to his son and Christ‟s strong belief towards life. Through these, I know that it is not easy to be a good husband and a good Papa, since in reality, only love cannot only make everything. And I also learn that one has to strongly believe in himself, no matter how difficult the situation is, but of course, hard-working is indispensable.第三篇:《当幸福来敲门》的英文影评《当幸福来敲门》的英文影评Will Smith plays Chris Gardner, a struggling sales man that is doing everything he can to keep his act together, however, lately he makes little to no money and the bills keep piling up.His wife, tired of the situation leaves him and goes to New York to work in a restaurant.Subsequently everything that could go wrong does go wrong and Chris and his young son end up homeless. Now his only hope is to succeed at a stockbroker internship at Dean Witter and be chosen to work there which would turn his life around...Based on a true story, The Pursuit of Hapyness has all the right ingredients, plus Will Smith's performance is not only perfect but probably the best of his career. He may not choose his films very wisely but the man can definitely act,for instance, there's a very emotional scene towards the end of the movie,it lasts less then a minute but it is some of the finest acting I've seen lately. The on-screen chemistry between Will Smith and Jayden Smith is great and makes the viewer really care and root for the characters.Overall its a great story of hope, of working hard to achieve things,of not giving up... 当幸福来敲门经典电影英文影评
当幸福来敲门英文影评(2006)With a title like The Pursuit of Happyness, you expect the characters to get to the promised land. Sitting through The Pursuit of Happyness is a chore. Downbeat movies aren't inherently bad (in fact, many are powerful), but this one provides artificial characters in contrived circumstances. How is it that movies "inspired by a real story" often feel more fake than those fully embedded in the realm of fiction? Will Smith has generated Oscar buzz for his portrayal of Chris Gardner, the real-life guy whoserags-to-riches story forms the basis of the movie. The Pursuit of Happyness has the kind of slow, drab tone one occasionally associates with a director raised outside of the Hollywood system. What can be an asset in some circumstances is a detriment in this one. The Pursuit of Happyness isn't enjoyable, and its meager pleasures, including the eventual "payoff," aren't enough to justify the unrelenting misery. The Pursuit of Happyness is competently made and gets lots of the details right, but when it comes to the emotional core of the story, it loses the pursuit and misses the "happyness."。

movie review—the pursuit of happiness
“You have a dream, you goபைடு நூலகம் to protect it!”
• From this word, I learn that one person who has a dream must live for his dream. If we can’t insist on the dream, the dream just is a day-dream, and we have no energy to life well. The word tells me that no matter how the difficulty is big, I just need to see the achievement after the difficulty, no difficulty is difficult. Like the word from Li Ning ‘anything is possible’.

Watch The pursuit of happyness AtterToday I watched the movie named The pursuit of happyness seriously in which I learn so much. I'm not discounting the fact that this was a very good movie with a touching story of a guy down on his luck who finally accomplished his dream.I not only love the movie, but also love the father in it.I liked the leading man, he will be able to live in a society of the bottom of artists have touched people's interpretation of men, at least, I was really moved. He looked at in order to pay the rent and send their son to kindergarten tuition fees, Benming day in hospitals, to promote his practical and less expensive scanners. Prior to that, he thought it would be their turn for the better life of wealth and the scanner. The total may face no choice but to see a doctor.Looked at him the envy of a securities broker's background, and then the crowd stood in the crowd watching in the past, everyone faces a bright smile, why he wanted everyone so happy? In addition to its own. He looked at in order to win with a securities broker and the exchange of time, get on with a car, said the population sharing the fare, only to later find them do not have enough money, so choose, fare evasion As a result, there was a car tried to catch up with the men's figure, the better, he has escaped, bloody subway doors folder out of his hand scannerChris Gardner is a loving father and failing businessman. He is chosen for a competitive internship at Dean Witter, a stock brokerage. The internship, which offers Chris a very long shot at a better life, doesn't pay any salary. Chris has to live without a salary for six months while risking just about everything for that long shot gamble.Chris is really smart. He can solve a Rubrik's cube in minutes. But, he's poor. Poverty, like an octopus, keeps trying to suck him down to the bottom, and make him stay there. His car is towed. His wife walks out on him, leaving him with a five year old son. He is arrested for unpaid traffic tickets. He becomes homeless. He has to rely on a homeless shelter. All this while, he must appear for work in the morning in a suit and tie, and be ready to charm some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in the Bay Area. These people take wealth so much for granted that two of them stiff him for cab fare.Having lived through similar experiences, I cringed throughout this movie. My stomach hurt. I winced. I cried. I hugged my knees to my chest.I was fortunate to see this movie in a screening. I really enjoyed it, and felt that it lived up to the teary and heartwarming trailer. While the movie has an uplifting "go for your dreams" message, the deepest theme is that of family.Chirs did a great job as the father trying to protect his son from their circumstances of becoming homeless as much as he can, while at the same time trying to work in the competitive world of stocks as an un-paid intern. His son was outstanding as the preschool-aged kid who knows things are going wrong and tries to have a stiff upper lip, but just can't do it all the time. The story is very touching and was close to home for me. My family has been through some toughtimes, and this movie just reminded me of how much my parents struggled to provide for our family and yet kept life fun as much as they could. I am excited to go see this with my parents as a way to say thank you.I not only love the movie, but also love the father in it.The father moves me.The movie teach what does happiness mean, live with happy mood and to say thank you for everything.新会0804于悦2008070317。

The Pursuit of Happyness: duty and dream
What I learned from the classic movie The Pursuit of Happyness is duty and dream, essential quality of a man. I am such a man that if I don’t know the answer, I will tell you “I don’t know”. But I promise that I know how to find the answer, besides I must find the answer. The answer is dream, and duty is why we should purse the dream.
Chris Gardner invests his entire life savings in portable bone-density scanners, which was proved to be a fool decision. The lack of a stable financial state increasingly erodes their marriage, in spite of them caring for their five-year old son. But the duty of a man tells him that he can’t abandon the family, even only his son and him. When they are together, sleeping in a toilet doesn’t matter at all, which best demonstrate the meaning of duty.
Regardless of his challenges, Chris Gardner never reveals his lowly circumstances to his colleagues, even lending one of his bosses five dollars for a cab, a sum he cannot afford. The last day, he is wearing a new shirt, the manager smiles and says he should wear it again tomorrow, letting him know he has won the full-time position.
Life is duty and dream. Each person has the right to purse happiness.。
