Lesson 1 介绍了作者初到国外对文化差异的感受——好奇、兴奋。
Lesson 2 是去国外做客的礼仪和注意事项。
Lesson 3 是在国外生活了一段时间后,由于文化差异几位学生产生的不适、难堪等感受。
Lesson 4 是关于融入新澳大利亚文化的篇章。
这四个语篇从文化差异、文化冲突和文化调适三个方面进行说明,让学生集中了解什么是“culture shock”。
再以人教版《英语》必修 1 Unit 1 为例,单元主题是“Friendship”。
这个话题在初中教材中也出现过多次,多数情况下谈论的是人与人之间的友谊。
但本单元第一课的主课文是《安妮日记》中的片段,这与友谊有什么关系呢?高一新生需要适应全新的学校环境和人际关系的变化,很多学生会感到紧张、孤独。
同时,他们在人际交往方面也有很多困惑。
当好朋友与自己分开,无法排解内心困惑的时候,学生可以通过写日记的方式排解心结。
如果确实发生了交友方面的问题,也可以向他人寻求帮助。
教材从单元的角度整体设计了与友谊话题相关的语篇:在Warming up 部分,教材设计了一系列交友方面的问卷;主课文是关于安妮在阁楼中通过日记与自己对话交流的语篇;而在 Reading and writing 环节,教材则设计了向他人寻求帮助来解决交友方面问题的语篇。
