HomeTownWhere are you from, which part of your country?I am from a small town of Taian city of Shandong Province in China. It locates onthe northeast of China and southwest of Shandong.1.what do u like about your hometown? (What would you say is the best thing aboutyour hometown? What's your favourite part of your hometown?Do u like your hometown? ) I love my hometown's beautiful natural scenery[si:neri] very much.My hometown is an inland agricultural region. It is famous for its peach. Most farmers in the townplant peaches ,although they also plant other fruits, but mostly peaches. In thespring, the peach trees are blooming.Without a real look you can't imagine howbeautiful the peach blossom blooming all over the moutain is .It is gorgeous.Andcos it's not an industrial town, the environment is good ,the air is clear, the skyis blue, and I also enjoy the peace and quiet there.2.what do u dislike about your hometown.I guess the answer would be the economy.Cas my hometown is not near the centre of the city, its economy is bad. Some area are pretty run-down.Pepole in my hometown are not rich and the living condition is not very good.Even worsely its economy is shrinking instead of growing cas the peaches sell not very well in recent years.I think maybe the quality of the peaches dropsis the reason, you know, its taste is not as good as before,so less and less peoplebuy peaches.3.Do u think your hometown is good for young people? No.cas i think my hometown is kind of falling behind the times.it lacks ofopporpunity and changes which is very important for the young people. Most old people in the town didn't get the high education. That's why most parents in my hometowntry their best to support their children to the college. They think only knowlegecan change your fate.4.what's the nightlife like in your hometown? Most pepole in my hometown don't go out at night. After dinner,Children may dohomework in their room while the parents watching TV outside. This reminds me of my childhood.cas my parents are not stict with me,so I can watch TV while i am doinghomework. That's a reward for my good scores in the exam.Parents in my hometown don't care how u study, they just want the result. You give them what they want ,you canget the freedom.Oh Sorry,i go too far.5.what would u change about your city? The economic system i think. People in my hometown they just plant the peachesand sell them to the dealers. The money farmers can get is very limited. If they canbe the dealers themselves or the government of my hometown can open bussiness such as peach juice factories, dried peach factories,i think things may go very differently. And they must improve the quality of the peaches firstly of course.Because in my memory the peach of my hometown are very big and delicious and also have numrous varieties.I am v ery confused why the quality drops year by year.I just can't get it.6.What types of public transport can be found in your hometown? The bus and bike.If people in the town want to go to the market or the shop and students want to go to school ,they often go there by bike or motorcycle. But if they wantto go to the city, bus is the first choice.Few people have private cars in myhometown. And if people has some hurry things to do ,and they don't have a motorcycle and no time to waiting bus ,they may take a taxi.(But the taxi is not a real taxi.I mean it's not like the taxi in big cities. It' kind of a mixture of motorcyle andcar. It has three wheels and a carrige shed.In small cities and towns of China youcan see this kind transportation everywhere.)But few pepole will do that cas mostpepole are penny-pinching ,they think taking taxi is a luxury.Where do you live at the moment?I’m n ot living in my h ometown r ight now.I am l iving in my u niversity .It is in Dongying city of ShanDong Province. How long have you been living there/here?I am living there about 6 years.cas I study in my university for about6 years.4 years for my u ndergraduate course,2 years for my m aster’s degree.I am back to my hometown only on vacation.Do you like _____? (The place you are living in now) (Why?/Why not?) Actually I don’t like it.cas its climate is harsh. It seems like there are only 2 seasons in this city, winter and summer. You m ay w ear a down coat yesterday and today you only need to wear a T shirt because of the hotweather.Where is your hometown? (Or, what part of China do you come from?) What kind of place is your hometown? Is that a big city or a small town (or, a village in thecountryside)?(Similar to above) How big is that place? *(For you,) what benefits are there from living in a big city?(Similar to above) Tell me something about your hometown.Has your hometown c hanged much i n the past few years? (e.g. 20 years) yes. There are a lot of changes.First of all, more buildings and factories are showing up , besides, the populations are getting bigger and bigger.Thetraffic system is more convenient. But the environment is worse than it used to be.Rivers are polluted and trees are cut down, the air is not as fresh asbefore.Compared to the past, would you say your hometown today is moresuitable for living in, or less suitable? It depends. On the one hand ,the house people lives now is far more better than the past and the transportation is more convenient.it seems like today ismore suitable compared to the past.On the other hand ,the worse environment plus for the pastDo you think you'll always live there? No.I haven’t live there for a long time since I went to college.Iwill find a job in big cities in the future,so I guess I won’t go back unless I visit my parents. What's the weather usually like in your hometown? It has a great climate all year round. The spring is warm a nd the summer is rainy.I like autumn in my hometown cas it’s cool and refreshing.Andthe cold of winter there is within our limit.Has the weather in your hometown changed much in recent years?Yes.seems to me like the spring days and the autumn days are shorterthan 20 years ago .By contrast, the summer days and the winter days aregetting longer. And the summer is scorching now and the winter is like freezing. What sorts of buildings are there in your hometown? Most buildings there are 3 to 4 storeys high. Some area are prettyrun-down.And people in the village usually live in bungalows.I said that the economy of my hometown is in a slump.7.Do you live in a house or a flat?I live in a flat.It is on the fourth floor of the building of six stories. It'sa little high for old people,my mother complains about that everytime she climbsthe stairs.why do you choose living there?Cas it’s in a pretty convenient location. And there's a wonderful view outside the window. It also has a roomy kitchen. But I guess the most important reason may be It’s cheaper than the 1st floor of the building.Which room do you like best? 雅思口语Part2物品类题库:一张照片/一幅画Describe a photo or painting you like in your home. You should say:where and when the photo was taken or paintedwhich room it is inwhat there are in the photo or paintingand explain why you like it.Actually, I have a few paintings in my home. My girlfriend says it's beginning to look like an art gallery! I guess you could call me a bit of an art-aholic, though I'm certainly no connoisseur.By far my favourite piece is a large oil painting on canvas that I picked up on my travels in Bali. I had to roll it up to get it back to China and once I got home I had a bespoke frame made for it. It depicts a tree or plant of some sort, using an array of colours, from deep blues to vivid yellows. The image is very simple, being formed from a number of different coloured dots.At the moment it is the centerpiece of my living room, takes pride of place on the main wall behind my sofa. There are other pieces of art in there, including some small statues and figurines, but they are eclipsed by the large oil painting, which truly dominates the room. Every guest we have visit passes comment on it, often complimenting its vibrant colours or simple aesthetic beauty. For me personally, it's a combination of all the things I have already mentioned. Plus, it reminds me of the places I have beenand the things I have experienced on my trips abroad. The memories come flooding back every time l look at my picture. This is the primary reason I collect paintings and the reason I have more works of art than I do wall space!雅思口语题库Part1话题范文:painting(绘画)1.Do you like painting or drawing?Yes, I do. I think it's interesting, but I don't know how to draw well. When I was a child, I would always draw something by myself, but I have never received professional training. If I have the opportunity, I want to learn some painting skills.2.How often do you visit art galleries?I go to the art gallery nearly every week. I prefer visiting the art gallery because I'm crazy about art. I like abstract paintings best,so I will never miss any exhibition of abstract art held in the art gallery, and I will always find inspiration from it and create my own art work.3.What kinds of things do you like to draw?I like painting very much, as I am an animated film buff, I always draw my favorite cartoon figures in my leisure time.4.Is it easy to learn how to draw?In my opinion, the ability of painting depends mainly on talents. For me, I am naturally good at painting. When I was a child, I could draw without teachers' guidance. But for some other people, drawing is really a big headache, and they'll find it really difficult to master this skill.5.Do you like painting?I don't think I like painting. Um, that is because I don't havea talent for painting. But, I very much enjoy visiting art gallery just for painting works.6.Do kids in China learn painting at school?Of course, we do. We learn painting at primary and middle school. The School requires kids to learn it in the painting class. You know, we all have painting examination at school.7.Do you think it is good to learn painting?Of course,it is good to learn painting. Learning painting could develop innovative thinking and practice patience. It is a kind of art form to express your deep mind.8.Do people in China like painting? It depends. I think it is not related to the nationality. Some people like painting just because they like and may be they have a talent for painting. And it is not necessary for everyone to like painting.9.Why some people dislike painting? It depends on people's interest. Most people are not born with painting ability. The simple reason for why they don't like painting is just because they are not good at it. People who dislike painting mainly because they had been compelled to learn painting by their parents.雅思口语描述一幅画或一张照片Describe a work of art you have seen(e.g. a painting or statue/sculpture).You should say:when you (first) saw this work of art, where you saw it,what it looked like, and explain your feeling about this work of art.

I do not have clear memory regarding the event when the photograph was taken but I have seen it thousands times and still I look at it with a delight and sadness. The photograph is a black-and-white one and later I have enlarged it and framed it in my living room. The small kid (me), the grandparents and young parents make the picture a really significant one to me. I look with amazement in to the picture and sometimes can't believe I was so small and different looking at that time The picture gives me a gloomy feelings as my grandfather and mother are no longer with us. In the picture they seems so lively but I can't be with them anymore!I was wearing a full sleeve shirt, full pant and a pair of red shoes. In the picture I was in the middle and was sitting in a chair. Others were standing around me - my parents are on the right and my grandparents are on the left. My father was very stylish and was wearing fashionable dress in the picture. My grandfather had spectacles in his eyes and had his hair back-brushed. My mother and grandmother were wearing traditional dresses but both looked so fresh and happy in the picture. This photograph is probably is my most favourite one ass it conveys my grandparents' memory and depicts a happy family.Every time I look at this particular picture, it gives a different sensation - mixture of happiness and sadness. This is a priceless possession to me and I would like to keep it with me for the rest of my life.雅思口语Part2范文2:最喜欢的照片There was a time when photos were only taken by regular point-and-shoot-cameras, but now everything has changed. With the help of mobile phones and computers, people are taking billions of photos everyday from all parts of the world. I, myself, take so many pictures that I sometimes forget which photograph I took and when I took it. There is this one photograph I like the most. It’s just beautiful…In this photograph I am carrying my niece and she is smiling up at me. I first saw the photograph about a week ago. I didn't even know the photograph existed until my sister showed it to me. I liked it so much that I made it the wallpaper background of my computer. Now, whenever I open the lip of my laptop, the first thing I see is that picture. The photo shows happiness. I think it was taken four years ago, and shows how time has passed, how the world changes. After looking at the photograph, I remembered that my niece was crying a lot and my sister was about to give her to the nanny. At that moment I decided to step-in and hold her. Once I had her in my arms she got happy and smiled. At that perfect moment the photograph was taken. The picture shows a time when I was happy. It also shows at time when we all used to have an optimistic outlook of the world but now all optimism and love has just vanished from my life. The photograph was taken when I was only 4 years old. I was with my parents and grandparents & it’s one of my very favoritepictures ever. I do not have clear memory regarding the event when the photograph was taken but I have seen it a thousand times. To this day I still I look at it with delight and sadness. I had it enlarged and framed; it hangs in the living room where everyone can see the black and white. The small kid (me), the grandparents and young parents make the picture a really significant one to me. I look with amazement at the picture and sometimes I can't believe I was so small and different looking at that time. The picture gives me a sense of melancholy since my grandfather & grandmother are no longer with us. In the picture they seem so lively but I can't be with them anymore!I was wearing a long sleeve shirt, pants and a pair of red shoes. In the picture I was in the middle, sitting on a chair. Others were standing around me; my parents are on the right and my grandparents are on the left. My father was very stylish and was dressed fashionably in the picture. My grandfather was wearing spectacles and had his hair back-brushed. My mother and grandmother were both wearing traditional dresses but both looked so fresh and happy in the picture. This photograph is probably is my most favorite one as it conveys my grandparents' memory and depicts a happy family. Every time I look at this particular picture, I get the feeling of bittersweetness. This is a priceless possession to me and I would like to keep it with me for the rest of my life.Tips for answering this Cue Card Topic:This cue card asks you to describe a photo/ photograph which is your favouritre and where you have been. The people in our building are generally friendly and quite, which makes it a pleasure to live there.9. Where do you live? ( 5 - 6 )I live with my parents here in Shenyang at the moment. To be more exact, we live in an apartment building in one of the northern suburbs of the city. I have my own room and enjoy the privacy that it brings, but I am looking forward to the day that I can have my own apartment. Secondly, I would like to mention Beiling Park. It consists of a large park, with many gardens and a lake. In addition it also is the site of an emperor’s tomb from the Qing Dynasty. Maybe Hong Kong is an exception, as it is better known as one of the most important financial capitals of the world.15. What are the people like in your hometown? ( 5 - 6 )15.
