Doyouagreeordisagreewiththefollowingstatement第一篇:Do you agree or disagree with the following statementDo you agree or disagree with the following statement? Working at home by using telephone and computer is better than working in office.Working, as an indispensable portion in our daily life, needs laying more emphasis on, thus with the widespread use of technology, there are many transforms in the employment such as working in the home—SOHO.It’s widely believed that people would be well-advised to work all day in the office.Admittedly, working in the office, peoplecan not onlyhave a high efficiency, but also they can be well managedby employers.Nevertheless, reasonable as this point may seem, with every respect taken into account I believe that working in the home by using telephones and computers is better, because we could save much time spent on commute and make a flexible schedule. We could focus all our attention on the work without being disturbed as well.To begin with, we could save much time spent on commute, when we are in the office.without doubt, it takes us much time to get in touch with colleaguesand employers in the office, because we must join in the meeting which always lasts a long time. For example, my brother works in a medium-sized company, so there is a meeting in Monday all the time, the meeting which lasts to the moon night, nonetheless, is only a weekly summary.Hence, only working at home by using telephones and computers, can we save much time on communication to spend on the work.菊紧!What’s more, we can make a flexible schedule. To be more specific, we are able to do everything following the schedulewhich is really suitable for our interest and habits.Clearly, we can strike a proper balance between work and leisure via working freely at home and live a life which can keep fit physically, mentally and emotionally. For instance, my father just uses the telephone and computer to work, so he has his own flexible schedule without following therule, when he finishes the work, he can do everything he likes to such as playing the basketball or a music interment which help him ease his mind and release him pressure. Therefore, we can’t emphasize the importance of a flexible schedule too st but not least, we could focus all our attention on the work without being disturbed as well.Undoubtedly, working atmosphere is not quiet enough, so we may distract our attention when something happens. For one thing, hence, on no account should we ignore the benefit of working at home, because we can lay more emphasis on the work.To sum up, due to working at home using phones and computers have more benefits, so it’s better than working in the office.本文得分21.语言质量不高:。

I think that if teenagers can use mobile phones in a right way, they should be allowed to use mobile phones at school. Because the phones can help students study efficiently (效率高地) and conveniently (便捷 地). Students can get all kinds of information quickly and easily. Therefore, they can learn more about the world. 【老师寄语】:Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow --Albert Einstein托福写作范文:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?Students are more interested in politics today than in the past. For the majority of ordinary people, politics seems to be the business of politicians and governments. Many individuals deem it as something serious and evendangerous to talk about, but world-wide students’ enthusiasm about it does not fade. Instead, I think their interest in politics grows. To begin with, a relatively high standard of living enables students to have more time and energy to care about politics. Two decades ago, western world suffered from the economic crisis, while some eastern regions were troubled by chaos caused by war. Most people struggled for survival. In contrast, despite few local wars, we now live in a more peaceful time, and the main public concern has moved from getting rid of death and starvation to the fight for more human rights, such as the right to speak and the right to vote. Obviously, compared with most other people, studentsare among those who benefit most from improved living standard, which frees them from worrying about winning their bread. Therefore, it is not surprising that as an aspiring group stressing spiritual pursuit, students are more intended to follow political affairs.Furthermore, eye-dazzling development of media technology also contributes to students’ rising concerns over political topics. In the past, there were not many ways for the general public to learn latest political news, and limited formal information channels stopped most people from knowing about the truth, therefore reducing their interest in politics. However, with modern media technology advancing as well as the widespread use of the Internet, we find it convenient to get access to political news. To be clear, for students, politics is now more than abstract concepts in the textbooks or the courses chosen for GPA. On the contrary, politics is something they can discuss, learn, and even take partin on the spot. For example, students can download popular applications of social networks such as Twitter, Facebook and Google+, which provide them with both formal and informal channels of political issues, and they as a result take more initiative. If they by accident are on the scene of an election speech, they can share pictures and viewpoints by posting to their blogs or microblogs, acting the role of information source. Finally, from amacroscopic perspective, today’s political affairs are more closely related to our daily lives.Conventionally speaking, politics was something immutable and unreachable. So far-away was it from our daily lives that it was reduced to politicians’ tactics and the rich’s games, namely something meaningless to the public. Aggressive and passionate as students were, they chose to keep alienated from it because of their failure to make a difference. Nevertheless, as a new era is dawning upon the world, most communities are becoming increasingly open and democratic. Meanwhile, political issuesare closely bound up with the interest ofcommon people. For instance, more and more people can decide what their countries and societies would be by voting. This fact kindles the hope of students, recognized would-be reformers who are always eager to make the world better. It seems to them if they take an active part in political campaigns, they will sooner or later seize the opportunities to build a better society. To summarize, seeing from the micro level, students have more interest in politics today on the ground that they are able to spare energy to do it, and equipped by mature media technology they can get more involved. On the macro level, politics has linked more closely with our daily lives in the twenty-first century, which makes students think their active participation in the politics will lead them to more opportunities to change the world.

The school decided to cancel the long summer vocation. So students have to attend school all year long with some short breaks during holidays. Do you agree or disagree? Please explain the reasons. From my perspective of view, I would definitely disagree with it. There are a couple of reasons to name. To begin with, studying under enormous pressure for consistent periods will drag the feet of study efficiency. Consecutive studying process will put the students in an environment full of inhibition and it will be more likely for them to feel stressed out. Accordingly, the effectiveness and speed of their study will decrease a lot. Moreover, it can’t be a worse idea to study in hot days. Summer is the hottest season all year around and no one will feel like to study in such harsh condition, nor can they concentrate on their study for a long time because their minds are filled with idea that I want to do nothing but stay at home, the cool place. For the above reasons, I disagree with it2. Which of the following people can give the most useful help in your future career direction:1) Teachers2) Families3) FriendsChoose one and explain why.I think parents are the best advisers when choosing our career. Firstly, it is parents who care about us most, and who know us the best, so it is out of question that they would try their best to help us choose right the career path. You know, they want to help us lead a decent life. In addition, we can benefit a lot if we listen to their advice. For example, I work in the bank, which demands a bunch of resources such as social relations and steady financial investment. My parents assist me in choosing this career and they have all the resources I need because they are bankers. In this way, I get promoted much more quickly.3. Some schools offer first year college students optional courses on how to manage time. Describe the advantages and disadvantages for students to take such courses.Well, the benefit of such courses is that students can make a better transition from high school to college. They can develop useful skills such as manage their time properly, taking notes in classes and preparing for exams. However, the drag is that optional courses take too much of students’time. You know, students are overwhelmed with all kinds of assignments like papers, presentations, and even group projects. So, taking optional courses might leave students less time on their major course works and students might lower grade eventually.4. You and your friends both are going to attend final exam, andyour friend who doesn't study hard in the process seeks for your help, what would you do?I’m sure I would try to help, but it would depend on the kind of help she needed. For example, if she just wants to use my notes, that’d be fine. Or I could help her out if she just had a few questions. That being said, I’d have to say “no”to her if she wanted me to basically become her private tutor. I’d feel a little bad because she’s my friend, but I would need to focus on my own exams. I wouldn’t have the time to become a teacher and re-teach her all those classes she missed. After all, it’s herself fault for sleeping through class. How hard can it be to set an alarm?5. Your friend often feels nervous when speaking in front of a large group of people. What suggestions would you give to your friend to overcome this fear? The following suggestions can be useful for someone who has stage fright. First, practice makes perfect. Don’t waste any chance to speak in public. He or she can start with an environment that’s not so intimidatingly, try giving a little talk at a family dinner first. When it’s time, move on to giving a presentation in class. Sooner or later, this person will be able to speaking in front of strangers. Second, be prepared for the speech. This means he or she should take the time write a draft, get the slides in order and rehears at the speech location if possible.6. Describe what you were like when you started attending school.I was six when I started attending school. I was curious about everything, eager to learn. It was quite different from kindergarten, courses began and teachers were serious. It took me some time settling in but basically it was all fun and I never cried like many other kids did especially on Monday mornings. I enjoyed Chinese class mostly, the teacher would encourage us to act out the stories we’ve learned. It was a good experience of learning and also making friends. Because you see we had to cooperate and rehearse, it was more of a game for us rather than just words and textbooks.7. If there is misunderstanding between you and your friend, do you prefer to solve the problem in public places or private places like home?In my opinion, I prefer to remove the misunderstanding with my friend in a public place such as a quiet coffee bar or a nice restaurant. Because firstly, it will shows my sincerity by inviting my friend to a formal place to resolve the problem. We will communicate with each other and even make an apology to each other sincerely. What’s more, public places usually provide us with a better sense of fairness while dealing with the disagreement than a private place like one’s home. Also, the nicer environment in a public place can help us relax and get rid of the misunderstanding and even prejudice between us.8. Do you agree or disagree with the statement that celebrities likemusician, athletes or performers can set good examples for young people?I think some famous people can be good examples for young people. For example, my favorite basket player is Allen Iverson. I have a huge admiration for him because he is such a hard-working guy. According to his coach, Allen was so diligent that he was always the first person arrived for training and the last one to leave. He often spent extra two hours practicing after his teammate left for dinner. So it’s definitely his hard work that made him one of the most famous phenomenal players in the league. His spirit motivates me a lot especially when I felt depressed or had difficulty dealing with my tests.9. Describe an occasion in your country where people give gifts to each other and the kind of gift that's common. An occasion in my country where people give gifts to each other is the Chinese New Year. What we give to each other varies from family to family. In my family, we give each other red packets that contain lucky money. They symbolize good fortune and prosperity. Another tradition in China is that parents would their kids shopping during Chinese New Year. When I was a kid, my mom and dad took me to the mall every Chinese Year to let me choose whatever cloths or toys I wanted.10. Which one of the following qualities do you think a good school should have? Students who like to help each other, knowledgeableteachers or strict rules?I think a good school should definitely have strict rules for the following reasons. My first reason is that strict rules can motivate all kinds of students to work harder because most of the times, students, especially teenagers need a little push in life. For example, when I was in high school, all students in my school were required to arrive at school at 7am to memorize English vocabulary. The school forced everyone to make wise use of the time before the first class of the day officially started. I hated it back then. But when I look back now, I realize that I couldn't have possibly gotten such a good grade in English if my school didn't push me. I probably would have spent my morning sleeping in or procrastinating if my school didn't have such a strict rule. Plus, strict rules can teach students about discipline. Sometimes it's not exactly about the rules themselves, it's the concept of obeying the rules when asked to that matters.Task11. Do you prefer to prepare something a lot of time before deadline or wait until the last minute before deadline? Please give specific reasons and details to support your idea.I would try to start a project as early as possible. Because an early-start leaves us sufficient time and energy to improve and revise, so the quality of the project could be better guaranteed; an early start alsoallows us to follow a systematic plan and enjoy an unhurried schedule. Actually, I used to procrastinate a lot, and a lousy time management only leads to bad consequence. I remember I was once invited to attend a high-level school presentation contest. So many things were distracting me at the time and I waited until the night before the deadline to start writing my speech, and the result was a nightmare. My mind went blank automatically when I was on the stage, which was totally embarrassing.TASK21. Leaving some time for group discussion in class is beneficial for study. Do you agree or not?As far as I am concerned, leaving some time for group discussion in class has much benefit. First of all, it enables us to exchange ideas directly after teacher’s instruction, which helps improve our learning efficiency and producing new ideas during the course of class. If we get confused, we can have someone to ask or discuss with at once. Moreover, when we discuss and argue with our partners, group discussion also provides us a way to reduce negative emotions and improve interpersonal communication skills. Talking with others, exchanging ideas, discussing and even debating has been proved as efficient ways to reduce negative feelings.2. Some college students like to spend their time free time studying another course or doing schoolwork. Others like to join a club and enjoyclub activities. Which do you think is better and why?Well, I'd like to spend my free time joining a club and participating in club activities. Because I think I've already spent enough time on studying during the lectures and seminars. It's not necessary to devote my spare time to learn another subject. Then my life would be pretty boring and tiring. However, joining a club could enrich my university life and fully relax myself. For example, I took part in the singing club in my university, and performing in choir concerts provided me with a lot of beautiful memories. I also made many friends in the club, whom I still contact with after graduation. So I'd prefer to join a club and take part in more activities.3. Some manager likes to closely watch their employees while others prefer to give them more freedom which do you think is more effective.Personally, I think employees should be given more freedom and flexibility. To begin with, they tend to be more creative and innovative when they enjoy a lot of flexibility at work, thus they can come up with new idea, designs and more effective business solutions to their customers and clients. As we can see that if workers enjoy some flexibilities, like flexible working hours, play their own music at work or enjoy other sorts of freedom, they will be more productive. Additionally, research shows that employees who have a relaxing workingenvironment might be more willing to work long hours.4. Do you agree or disagree that to succeed we need to make enemies?I disagree, it’s not necessarily the case. First, there’re many definitions for success. To be successful is to lead a life that you intend to and enjoy, not a life necessarily with a lot of money. Say I feel that my mom is quite successful because she lives a happy life, but she obviously doesn’t have any enemies. And even for the people who are successful in career and with high social status, the effort they’ve spent along the way could be quite legitimate that wouldn’t have induced any serious conflict with others’interests. Surely there must have been competition, but competition is common in any aspect of life which doesn’t always bring out hostile feelings. So basically,I think the statement stands without solid ground.5. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: talking face-to-face in person is a better way to communicate than communicating through emails and by text message?I agree with that talking face-to-face to communicate is a better way to communicate because of following reasons. Firstly, talking face-to-face can avoid misunderstanding. Take myself for example, I sent an email to my colleague to check some of problems occurred in our history project, but she failed to receive it, which almost caused the failure of our project.Secondly, talking face-to-face can strengthen the relationship between you and your co-workers. It is believed that communicating in person help people understand others better.6. With the new technologies, we now have electric books and internet. Someone thinks that someday the library will totally disappear. What is your opinion?I think it is absolutely necessary to have libraries. Firstly, although it is true that electronic books have become increasingly popular, some people still keep the habit of reading paper books. They may find it is easier for them to concentrate or make marks when they are reading. Thus, the library remains a crucial part in readers’life, since it can provide a huge range of choices for book worms. Besides, the library is not only a place for people to read books, but also to do other activities. For example, students always choose to study in the library. Other people may stay in the library, just to enjoy the quiet atmosphere and to find their inner peace.7. Do you agree with the following statement? School should be responsible to teach students moral values. State your opinion and explain why. From my point of view, I do believe it is crucial for schools to have moral value lessons, such as teaching students to be honest. There are two reasons. Firstly, these classes are beneficial to the society. Theessence of education is never solely academic study. As a matter of fact, the most significant part is teaching students how to be a moral person. Only this way, a student can grow up to be a useful man to the whole society. Besides, young adults are usually very vulnerable and easily affected by bad influences. Schools have the responsibility to teach them right and wrong and help them to live a meaningful life ever since.8. Some people prefer to make detailed plans for the future. Others prefer to concentrate on present things and don't make any plans at all. Which way do you prefer? Use specific reasons to support your answer.I like to make plans for the future. I want to have the sense that there's something on the horizon, whether it's a class I'm going to take or some location 1 want to travel to. Even if 1 don't have enough money for a vacation right now, just doing the research about place like France makes the idea of visiting it seems exciting. Don't get me wrong. I love living in the moment, but plans are very important, too. They can provide a certain structure and hope, something to look forward to and feel good about.9. Your local community center wants to add some new workshops or programs for children, which of the following do you think would be the most beneficial for children's development?1) Arts craft workshop2) Technology workshop3) Athletic programsAmong all three workshops and programs, I believe that the art craft workshop will be the most influential for children’s development for two reasons. First, it is usually easier for children to cultivate their talent in art at a younger stage since most children are extremely creative when they are little. Such creativity is critical for learning and appreciating art and could gradually decrease as time goes by. Therefore, it is the best to offer such an opportunity to utilize their advantages. Also, it is important to be able to develop their own taste in art. Art is like a language and with it, children will be able to express and perceive emotions in a different way.10. Do you agree or disagree with the statement? Teachers should make their lessons fun.I definitely think that teachers should make their lessons fun. The main reason is that if lessons are fun, students will want to learn. When students enjoy their lessons, they are more likely to come to class, talk to their classmates, and do their homework. From my experience as a student, I know this is true. I never used to like studying world history because I always had boring teachers. But a few years ago I had a professor who always delivered creative and fun lessons. I loved studying with him, and so did my classmates, and by the end of the semester we had learned so much.TASK11. Use specific reasons and details to support your opinion. Many of us believe that young people have nothing valuable to teach older people. However that is not always the case. Young people can teach older people about technology, young culture, and young-related social issues.Young people are usually better at using new forms of technology than older people can learn to use computers from young people. This is true of other technology too. For example ,I taught my grandparents how to use a video cassette recorder when I was thirteen years old. They didn’t know what it could do? Showed them. Now they use it regularly.Older people are usually not familiar with youth culture, and younger people can help here too. This is important because it can help older people live a moreenjoyable life. For example, popular music is generally youth oriented, and older people don’t a lways listen to it. However, when young people teach them about it, they may come to enjoy it. MyGrandmother, for example never listened to popular music before I introduces her to it. Note she and I listen and dance all the time. I plan to teach her about another piece of youth culture ---rollerblading----very soon!Of course, there are more serious issues about which younger people can teach older people. As with computer, today’s children have grown up knowing about AIDS and school violence. That is not true for older generations. Here, again, children can teach older people about things that are important to everyone.I know there are people who would say “you can’t teach an older dog new tricks.” However, it’s plain to me that the young have plenty to teach the old if they take the time to try. When they do, I think both gain a new appreciation for each other.2、读原版小说比看电影有意思?Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Reading fiction (such as novels and short stories) is more enjoyable than watching movies. Use specific reasons and examples to explain your position.Reading fiction, such as novels and short stories, is more enjoyable than watching a movie. Of course the images in a movie are much more vivid, because you’re seeing them on a large screen in a dark room. The images you “see” in a novel are only as strong as your own imagination. But the more you read, the stronger your imagination becomes. Reading exercise your imaginative powers. Watching a movie dulls them. Imagination like a muscle needs to be used. Otherwise it can disappear. When you read, you’re an active participant in your own enjoyment. That’s one reason reading develops the imagination. You’re reading the words on the page and translating them into images in your mind. Whe n you’re watching a movie, you’re a passive viewer. The movie is giving you everything. Nothing comes from you except your reaction to what you’re seeing, and even that can be given you by the movie. Some movie plots are so simple, you can predict wha t’s g oing to happen before it does. Reading fiction also develops your storytelling skills. The more reading you do, the better you become at creating plots and characters. The plots and characters in movies are often very simple, because the emphasis is on action rather than on language or character development.Still, going to the movies is a great community experience. Sitting in a large theater with a lot of other people is fun. You experience the same reactions to what you’re seeing together. Reading i s a one-person experience. It’s a chance to go into an imaginary world by yourself. Both experiences can be fun and rewarding, but I think reading fiction is more enjoyable.3、体育课是否重要?Some people say that physical exercise should be a required part of every school day. Other people believe that students should spend the whole school day on academic studies. Which opinion do you agree with? Give specific reasons and details to support your answer. While physical exercise is important, I do not believe that it is th e school’s responsibility to provide physical training for its students. That is something that everyone can take care of on his or her own. Many students get plenty of physical exercise as part of their daily life or recreation. A student who bicycles ten miles to and from school does not need more exercise. A good physical education program must take a student’s outside activity into consideration. Otherwise, some students will spend valuable class hours repeating physical exercise. If a school offers such activities, it also suggests that students will be graded on them. The range of possible physical activities is great: football, swimming, weight lifting, ballet, ballroom dance, yoga, skiing, horseback riding, and golf are just a few. However, the number that a school could offer is small. Some students could get bad grades in physical education simply because the school could not provide an activity they enjoy or do well. This seems unfair. Research suggests that participation, not excellence,in these activities determines the physical benefits the body will get.Another issue is economic. Many schools do not have the money to provide gym facilities, playing fields, and athletic equipment for their students. Other schools are located in cities where that kind of space just isn’t available. A few schools would rather keep money for academic purposes.Schools can certainly encourage physical activity. They can provide space for notices about activities, events, and classes for physical activities. They can encourage students to plan time away from academic studies to get some exercise. However, I think that providing exercise should not be the school’s responsibility.4、商业还是农业研究中心A university plans to develop a new research center in your country. Some people want a center for business research. Other people want a center for research in agriculture (farming). Which of these two kinds of research centers do you recommend for your country? Usespecific reasons in your recommendation. The importance of agricultural and business research centers cannot be underestimated. Success in farming and success i n business each can improve a country’s standing. I think that agricultural research tends to improve the quality of individual citizens’ lives, whereas successful business practices improve a country’s economy in relation to other nations. Choosing between an agricultural and a business research center is a difficult decision. However, I believe that the agricultural research center would be most beneficial because its benefits are more widespread.Business practices in the United States already serve as a model for many other countries. While we certainly have much to learn, the U.S. already has fairly solid economic basis. Further, businesses are already well-connected internationally. They have the advantage of the Internet and other means of electronic information transmission. I think that a business research center would really only help a few directly.Businessmen would get richer. For the rest of the country’s people, there might be little obvious benefit. On the other hand, an agricultural research center would help all people. No country can survive without adequate means of food production. While the U.S. is able to produce or import enough food now, that may not remain the case if current trends continue. Natural resources are eroding, and more and more American farms are closing. Farmers need to build stronger networks across the country and internationally, much as businessmen already have done. Ultimately, better systems for farming will help all people. For example, food prices can be reduced as farmers discover more effective means of food production.Morally, I believe that it is best to do what will benefit the most people. I believe that the university’s decision to build an agricultural research center could do just that.5、学生参加体育的利弊Some young children spend a great amount of their timepracticing sports. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Most kids love to play sports. It’s important to them, but fo r the majority, it’s just one type of activity out of many that they do. For a small number of kids, though, a sport becomes their whole life. They spend almost all their time and energy practicing. This has both advantages and disadvantages.Sports are good for young children in many ways. Kids who enjoy sports are likely to have better health. They develop good habits of daily exercise that will keep them healthy as adults, too. Today, many children and adults are overweight, but those who love sports stay in shape. Plus, by developing their physical abilities, they will learn how to work hard towards a goal. Their achievements in sports will make them feel good about themselves. They’ll also mak e friends and learn teamwork. Sports, whether a little or a lot, can have positive effects. We admire the talent and dedication of young athletes, but we also wonder if they’re losing something. Their focus is very narrow. If they devote most of their time to sports, are they neglecting schoolwork? What about other interests? Children should try out many different activities. In addition, many young athletes are pressured by parents or coaches to succeed. Kids whose drive comes from inside usually do okay, but others can be unhappy and have health and emotional problems. So sports, like anything else in excess, can have negative effect too. When I was young, I liked books and hated sports. I saw other people who loved sports and hated school. Now that I’m older, I’ve found a better balance. People have to figure out what’s right for them. Is there such a thing as too much sports? There is no right answer, because there is no “right amount.” Everyone is different.。

8. Do you agree with the statement “Money is the root of all evil”? Why?
I don’t agree with the statement. When money becomes the root of all evil, it means the money spender has been controlled by desires. When we recognize this, we will conclude that money is not the cause of evil, on the contrary, consumer is. Money is the bridge but is not to blame.
If we spend money rationally, money is a helper. Material consumption along with spiritual consumption both paints our life. However, if we abandon ourselves into the pure material life or spiritual life, money will punish back.
10. College students are facing great stress nowadays. What can you do to relieve the stress and stay in mental health?
I’ve used many methods to solve the stress problem. I hang around, travel to someplace else, do the exercises. But every time when I returned, I would only feel more frustrated for my passing time. It may sound ridiculous to you, but my suggestion is leaving everything to last minute.
You can sing a song, play, talk, whatever you do, just because you have time. You have time for all these activities, of course you have time to think about your stress and how to relieve your stress. So long as you have time, whatever you do is headed for stress. When the last minute arrives, you will have no time to think your stress, or how to relieve it. Time accounts, we don’t have enough time to put aside. Consequently, don’t do the methods your find to relieve the stress, do things you really want to do before the last minute comes.。
