He was a young man in his childhood. He was kept in a high wall and in the courtyard. He was not exposed to the outside world, and his knowledge was poor. He studied hard in his youth and was dissatisfied with the teaching of private schools at that time. He went out to study. When he wrote these works, lu xun ate all kinds of hardships, and the reactionary forces oppressed him, but he persevered and tried to save the hearts of the masses. Other situations may develop between two friends that stem from jealousy, desire for revenge, uncaring parents, etc. Emily Bront?#39;s Wuthering Heights displays several characteristics of destructive relationships. Three of these are uncaring parents, marriage without knowing the person, and jealousy.Uncaring or unsympathizing parents are shown throughout this story to be an element of destructive relationships. Because Heathcliff gained all the attention from Mr. Earnshaw, Hindley became disassociated from his father. This separation continued until after Mr. Earnshaw had died.Another example is between Hindley and Hareton. Hindley became such a drunk and a gambler that he could not properly care for young Hareton. This led to a separation between Hareton and his father as well. One primary example of an uncaring parent is shown between Heathcliff and his son Linton.Heathcliff did not even want his son for anything except enacting a part of his revenge. This is shown by Linton#39;s fear of Heathcliff and Heathcliff#39;s enmity toward his son. Linton even says 。

英语文学名著读后感(精选5篇)英语文学名著读后感(篇1)On Sister Carrie Carrie was such an ordinary rural girl at the beginning of the story. Sitting on the seat of a bus she couldn’t help feeling exciting at the sight of the metropolis’ spectacle. She was impressed deeply by large crowd on the avenue the spacious square or tall buildings. Far more different from other heroines Carrie was not a plain pure angel like Snow-white nor was she brave enough to be a heroine of revolutionist or even a reformer nor was she so clever as to be a successful career woman who start from scratch. What attracted her most after her entering this huge metropolis was the incredible fineries fashion shoes smart handbags displaying in the shop windows the jewellerys shining brightly behind the glass. She dreamed that one day she could wear all of these jogging gracefully into the most luxurious hotel with focused sights of admiration. And this was not merely a dream. Because she had large eyes which can earn others’ sympathy even love. She had wonderful figure which can win others’ hearts. However anything she got anywhere she reached had not come from her ambition.Things happened and then she accepted. That’s what she had just done ? just to accept willingly from the bottom of her heart. She was not at all an evil woman who would give anything for the fortune or fame. However she would give uo something for a better life when her instinct defeated her intellect. That was Carrie a girl had her own desire a human being just like many others in the realistic world. There’s one sentence written in chapter VIII:” When this jangle of free-will instinct shall have been adjusted when perfect understanding has given the former the power to replace the latter entirely man will no longer vary.” However how many people can go that further.英语文学名著读后感(篇2)the novel opens with the famous line, "it is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.". and ends with two marriages: jane and bingleys, as well as darcy and elizabeths. both couples are assumed to live happily ever after.elizabeth (lizzy) bennet is the core of the family. elizabeth is the second of mr. and mrs. bennets five daughters, and is an intelligent, bold, attractive twenty-year-old when the story begins. in addition to being her fathers favourite, elizabeth is characterized as a sensible, yet stubborn, woman. misled by his cold outward behaviour, elizabeth originally holds mr. darcy in contempt. however, she finds that mr. darcy improves on acquaintance, more so than she would expect.fitzwilliam darcy (commonly known as mr. darcy) is the central male character and elizabeths second love interest in the novel. he is an intelligent, wealthy, extremely handsome and reserved 28-year-old man, who often appears haughty or proud to strangers but possesses an honest and kind nature underneath. initially, he considers elizabeth his socialinferior, unworthy of his attention, but he finds that, despite his inclinations, he cannot deny his feelings for elizabeth. his initial proposal of marriage is rejected because of his pride and elizabeths prejudice against him; however, at the end of the novel, after their relationship has blossomed, he is happily engaged to a loving elizabeth.role of women in the 18th centuryin late-18th-century england, women were relegated to secondary roles in society with respect to property and social responsibilities. for example, women were not permitted to visit new arrivals to the neighbourhood (such as mr. bingley in pride and prejudice) until the male head of their household had first done so. women were under enormous pressure to marry for the purpose of securing their financial futures and making valuable social connections for their families. therefore, marriage, though romanticised, was in many ways a financial transaction and social alliance rather than a matter of love. although jane austen did not condone loveless marriages (she stayed single all her life), she did approve of matches having equality in various respects, including wealth, social status, love and character. in pride and prejudice, wealth, social status, chastity (and the perception of chastity) and physical attractiveness are depicted as factors affecting a womans chances for a good m英语文学名著读后感(篇3)i believe that one of the factors that makes a piece of literature or even a movie a masterpiece is how well the reader can relate to the story. this is definitely a book everyone can relate to.the adventures of tom sawyer is a literary masterpieces, written in 1876 by the famous author mark twain. tom sawyer is a mischievous young boy who lives in the small town on the mississippi river called st. petersburg. the story line is simple, the book reads like a biography or a memoir of a summer in tom sawyers life.tom sawyer seems to be the precursor of and the template for misfit kids such as dennis the menace, malcolm in the middle, and calvin and hobbs. what makes this story great is that tom sawyer represents everything that is great about childhood. the book is filled with toms adventures playing pirates and war with his friend joe harper. tom has a trusted friend, huck finn, who few of the adults approve of. the book is filled with ideas of how the world works, such as how pirates and robbers work, that are so innocent, they could only come from a child. it is a story filled with action, adventure, ingenious ideas, love, and schoolyard politics. the whole story is seemingly a complication of what people did or wish they did during their childhood.the book is a little difficult to read at first. personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. other than referring to persons of african decent in derogatory terms (which im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. i highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.英语文学名著读后感(篇4)i read the book written by luxun .it is called zhaohuaxishi. it includes 10short articles about the writers stories .they are based on his own experience ,when i read this book ,i feel very happy to see luxuns childhood. it wasdiffrent from ours,so we may find it intersting and exciting. luxuns langange isvery great but maybe difficult to understand . but through his words ,we canfind his happiness in his heart .英语文学名著读后感(篇5)ive just fininshed reading the first 4 harry potter books for about the 5th time through, and theyre just as magical and affecting as they have ever been. everything is in here: suspense, adventure, mystery, humour, danger. theres even some pretty satisfying paybacks. the characters are fantastic and fantastically realistic. there are bad people who turn out to be good guys and good people who turn out to be bad guys, just like life.i think the thing i like best about these books is the message that its okay to be different - to be not "normal." i would love for everyone in school to have hear that message. it would probably reduce the bullying around the school.these books value real thoughts. much has been made of harrys rule breaking, but only once in the series so far does he break a rule for arbitrary personal gain. most of the time he makes a decision that whats right is more important than whats written. and you know what? lifes likethat sometimes. i think its great that kids are getting an example of how to do whats right even when it involves breaking rules. the potter books also show that there are consequences for rule breaking. if not getting caught and getting a detention, then a spell going wrong and someone getting turned into a cat. this shows that when you make a decision to go against the rules that things may not go as you expected and you have to take responsibility for the outcome.。

典范英语优秀读后感1‘WE ARE EQUAL!’ When these three words came out of the plain-looking girl’s mouth, the whole world was shocked. We have good reason to be shocked——deprived of family happiness from an early age, with neither beauty nor wealth to speak of, Jane Eyre seems to be never destined to become the heroine shining in the spotlight we often read about in romances——but is there really such a thing called destiny? At least Jane doesn’t think so. She is not pretty; she is not rich; she is a mere ordinary governess, so what? As an individual human existence, she has dignity as well as anyone else, so she deserves the chance to love and to be loved as well as anyone else! Despite her short, delicate body, her soul is not the least weaker than others’——even greater than most of them. The moment she said the three powerful words to Mr. Rochester proudly and steadily, her pale face must have been sparkling with sacredness, which would have made her the most beautiful woman ever, because the beauty of independence is eternal. With this spirit of independence she not only gained herself love, respect and happiness but also proved to the world that nobody is second class——unless you believe yourself to be.Hundreds of thousands of ordinary girls that usually get neglected in life——me included——love and admire Janedeeply because she inspires and encourages us to strive for our life goals against all odds bravely. She is a role model, an idol in our hearts but at the same time a friend, a big sister next door who’s not at all cold and distant, always ready and willing to stand by our side whenever we are in trouble. Every time when I feel inferior, puzzled and lose faith in myself and the strength to carry on the life path already chosen, Jane, my dear friend’s determined face and forceful words on that serene summer night would emerge inside my mind, which never failed to relight my fire of passion. Oh, how I long to be like her.But it’s not that I totally believe in her life story, by which I mean I don’t think the story of hers can happen to anybody. To me, it’s somewhat like a fairy tale that begins with ‘long long ago’ and ends with ‘ever after’,in which the prince and princess, though having suffered much in the process of getting together, would always end up in a harmonious marriage and enjoy all the best life has to offer. Being an obscure girl herself, the author Charlotte Bronte was so generous as to have provided our dear Jane a Mr. Rochester who loves her just the way she is, appreciates her unique character and a kindhearted family (later proved to be her relatives)that took her in when she was helpless and offered her a job to support herself. In reality, not every Jane Eyre can meet the proper people at the right time, just as not every ugly duckling can turn into a graceful swan——it may depend on a matter of luck. If you are too obsessed with fairy tales, you are very likely to feel disappointed and deceived by the not-so-perfect everyday life. But what are fairy tales for? We love to read them and we tend to believe in them even though we know they are not real. Sometimes we do need a little romantic daydream as seasonings in the routine of life, and wealso need an ideal to believe in, a creed to live by, and a northern star to show us directions on the long journey. That’s maybe what Jane Eyre is for——it gives numerous common girls a possibility to look forward to, a life to reach for, and above all, a positive attitude to face all odds to encounter. Perhaps we can’t all have her luck, but we can have her independence, confidence, persistence, the courage of standing up to fight for ourselves against those seemingly taller than us, and the faith that we can finally win because WE ARE EQUAL.典范英语优秀读后感2At first glance, "the elephant man" when one is his accustomed to black and white color preference, two is directed to director David Lynch (DavidLynch) name, the "Elephant Man", David Lynchs 1980 debut, let me cry.He is not like a man, not an animal, man is man. This is the theme of the film is also the protagonist is Merrick - angle into despair when the last shout, but do not seek to rescue.Like the slow start of a film: a beautiful girl in a picture frame, a mother of desperate people, a herd of noisy elephants. With the background of the noisy sound of the horn, a girls body by elephants trampled trampling. The girl, a mother, the absurd experiences in the rainforest, the origin of the story, was brought to the abstract with such montage. Then it was a long two hours.Black-and-white picture. As people have natural aversion physiological wheeze, deformed body, ugly skin, big head, only can distinguish the left eye and a clear or are left, the beautiful ugly appearance of the sacred heart, night prayer nerve lamb slaughtered lamb. That is the man.Man is innocent, he tremble with fear like a child, he was afraid of his people to the whip, he laughed at, he was afraid ofthose people outside the window harbour evil designs appear suddenly in the face, he is afraid of even a sudden closing sound, he is afraid to speak. He took a picture of his mother with a girl with an angels face, and then he said sadly, "if my mother is still there, she must not want to see me."......Will be ashamed of me, I, I put her to shame......Even those who just posturing like close to him, he was overwhelmed by an unexpected favour, happy like a child, he would say: it is really, really so? He did not dare to believe that he thought his life would really like an animal in the lower dark wet through with a weak body, and heavy wheeze. He expected to come from outside the church, he just wants to do for an ordinary person, but the church is not far out of the window, so close that he could not see, he can only draw the outline of it in the heart, to create his ideal to use their own imagination, one for ordinary people not worth mentioning the ideal.Sentimental personality signature cold girlI think that this is just Lynch made up by the abnormal people to ridicule the world of black humor, a "Notre Dame de Paris" continuity and reconstruction, with cruel body face to sing the sanctity of the heart. When I began to search for more information about the driver, I find the story of JosephMerrick."The elephant man" is based on the real experiences of change and JosephMerrick. Its a shock and a sad truth.More than 100 years ago, before the real man.In fact, the reality is far more cruel than what the film shows. After Merrick died, his body was kept by the Royal Infirmary in London for experiments. His rare pathology became a problem that puzzled the medical community for more than 100 years. While the film with deformity of dwarf relief and the doctor finally conscience to prove a perfect one, but still unable to save the mansdeath.JosephMerrick had personally made a church out of cardboard, and it was gorgeous and fragile."If not, maybe I can please you better and please the world," says JosephMerrick.......If I could......If you can measure his worth with ones soul......In the end, the film comes back to the beginning of abstraction and illusion, because we can not get answers in the real world.A voice said, it is a dead mother, she said: nothingwilldie.典范英语优秀读后感3People are dying in this story called "living".A chance at high school, the Chinese teacher gave us a share in Yu Huas Novels "alive" by the movie, this is my first time to contact the "live" this works, then determined the Internet to buy a book and began to carefully taste the real flavor between the lines."Alive" actually tells the story of a persons life story, the book tells the story of a fukki rich young master, first put into a family gambled all the poor father died and he resented; unfortunately caught by the Kuomintang when young men died after those in the world, but the mother is sick then the son has died; Qing was blood to die, her daughter Feng Xia died due to postpartum septicemia, wife Zhende rickets eventually died; and two injured died like son-in-law, grandson of bitter root by eating beans by death; finally, only the old Fu and a cow story. This is an old man who has gone through the vicissitudes and tribulations of the world. The authors brushwork is very quiet, not deliberately to foil a kind of ups and downs of the atmosphere, with the authors plain narrative, experienced the heros life, sad and happy. After reading Yanjuan meditation, the heart is heavy, feeling indescribably sad, it seems that life can experiencemisfortune befell the hero. Thinking about the protagonists experiences, I began to think: what is the meaning of life?I think the value of living is growing.Something from a completely spoiled and unruly wealthy young master to a prop up the ordinary peasant family, no regrets, this period is not something hated complained, but more is to allow yourself to accept the reality, continue to be strong, this is growing fukki, this is the purpose of his life. From the outset we cannot decide the birth, or rich or poor or healthy or sick, some people do not feel happy, that will start to ask why people alive? However, when we are from the past that even the 99 multiplication tables are difficult to calculate now back pupil function, learn mathematics; from the past under the guidance of the teacher will appreciate an article now will own appreciation of his creation of an article; from the past to now unsuspectingly naive mature mind and mentality across from the past; capricious temper now for the sake of their parents. Weve been growing up this way, and thats what were living for.I think the meaning of human life is -- because responsibility is better and better. When something was caught when young men on the battlefield, the battlefield after death, as captured in the face of the PLA are choosing to stay or get the money for the journey home, he did not hesitate to choose the home; when the fukki because the implementation of peoples Commune and the home field only in front of a small block when he was not discouraged, but remember that his father taught him "through their own efforts to make our Home Xu from the chicken into goose from the goose into sheep, from sheep into cattle, slowly re issued" he tried to let the family live better, these are your family ofresponsible performance. Your responsibility to live better because of this, he is the meaning of life.Students in all walks of life we all have their own responsibility, breakfast every morning to make cakes for Wang Shushu; white-collar Miss Lin every day sitting in front of the computer seriously under report; courier brother Zhou to you to express every day in all weathers. They all live better because of their responsibilities, and thats what we live for.I think the meaning of living is to give love continuously. When your tired one day later, he is still willing to bend down to your feet now; when life is not comfortable, he is still willing to give money to save the Long Feng Xia Na a new dress; know when Fugui was the first school in the Qing run when his eyes full of are proud. These are your love for them, they also love your. Your constant love, this is the purpose of his life.If the world were a cabin, love would be a window in the hut; if the world were a ship, then love would be a beacon in the boundless sea. To be loved is a wonderful enjoyment, and to love others is a noble and good character. As long as you observe carefully, you will find that there are many people around you who need you to continue to give love, and that is what we live for. What is it to live for? Your life tells us: to live, not only for themselves, those who you love and who love you is worth you to live for them.典范英语优秀读后感4Man must be on the road to death, so death is a matter of no hurry, and death is a sure coming festival. -.By chance, I read Yu Huas "alive", the book tells the story of a fukki rich young master, first put into a family gambled all thepoor father died and he resented; unfortunately caught by the Kuomintang when young men died after those in the world, but the mother he died of illness; then there is blood to dry the Qing son died, her daughter Feng Xias wife died of postpartum septicemia, Zhende rickets eventually died; and two injured died like son-in-law, grandson of bitter root by eating beans by death; finally, only the old Fu and a cow story. The story spans China from the Kuomintang to Mao Zedong. Tells the broad and rich tears. After reading this ordinary story, I am meaningful, but also I understand the despair of despair. So Yu Hua wrote in the preface, "alive" in our China language is full of strength, its strength does not come from shouting, not from attack, but to endure, to endure life gives us the responsibility to bear the reality to give us happiness and suffering, boring and mediocre.I like talking to old people because talking with them always makes me think a little more about life. They have been to old age, not pain with the world and say goodbye, fear of death is coming, nor in the life left in the sad face, complaining about the injustice of yesterday. I see is the temper of time to allow the soul to Xijinqianhua in the dust, pure white. Visited thousands of the world, experience the life of the torrential rain, condensed water is life, to add a soft Youth passes as a fleeting wave. let life, enjoy the quiet beauty in the leaves. Quiet time, they no longer ask how many flowers, only asked whether smile enron. There is a good saying in living, "man lives for himself, not for anything else."". There is only one life, and when it is lost, it is really gone. It is priceless and can not be bought with money. The impermanence of life, come and go. In each of the parting of the intersection, we can only see a figure, the overlapping lingeringendless blessing about full load. In the life and soul of the moment, the cohesion is a good and happy, this moment of burst out of the brilliance, worth our lifetime waiting for, forever treasure. The heart of an old man is like a pebble flowing through the water. Young, how can we absorb all the light? Just because of all mortal beings, can not help but touch a little human fireworks, not through the vicissitudes of current events, and how can we get the real practice, let indifferent interpretation of life? However, this indifferent attitude toward life, but more or less gave me a calm forward. As a philosopher said, in fact, life in the end is but a false alarm. When you find that so many of the past have gone with the wind into the years lost aloes, growing pains in the wind seems to be the memory of understatement. I began to learn the youth behind the reversal raving quiet, gently tapping the years wrinkles, only hope that life in the light, I can still choose to do the positive and optimistic, let the heart as a mirror, leisurely path.Life is a beautiful scene in the one-way trip, its charm is in its way, it is never to return. Not only that, we will watch God clear, dress costumes take this way of life happiness tour, luxury life. In the ruins of the years of life movement in the United States spectrum. The road to life is long and long, and life has to sing all the way. To live is more important than anything. Lucky to be alive. 典范英语优秀读后感5After Read The African ChildThe African Child was written by an African writer called Camara Laye, who gave me a different perspective about seEing the African children. It is really a book which is worth reading although it do not belong to the best-sellers or the newestpublication. It is just a book written in a very long time ago by a not that famous writer, but you’ll find it fantastic or you will finally get something after read the book. Now let’s see the details. The African Child is a book collected by Collins English Library, and the library graded it with level 4. The level represents a text written within a basic vocabulary of 500 words and appropriate structures, 2:1000 words, 3:2000 words, 4:3000 words, 5:5000 words. The Collins English library series are written for students of English as a second or foreign language and for reluctant native readers. The African child only contains 12 chapters, but for me, it’s the perfect, because I cannot read that much words in a short time by my reading speed, I know I have to do with my reading. At the beginning of the book, there is a short passage written for the writer’s mother to express the writer’s thanks towards his great mother, and also, to appreciate the women of Africa. Then comes the story. It is a true story about the author himself became a man, and finally left his hometown and family. During the reading process, I find something interesting and touching. I used to misunderstood that all the African family are living a poor and unhappy life, and the woman here has little importance in their society. Now I know that not everything is so absolute. The author tells us that some people may hold this view for many years, but Africa is huge, with many different ways of life, and in their country the woman has considerable freedom and power. In his hometown, his mother was respected and admired greatly not only for her strong mind, but also her strange powers. He really had a mother with fantastic powers just like magic. In the book, it seems just many of them have magic, his father’s black guiding snake which guided him to do the right thing, and ledhim to the way of success. And also, his mother’s power to make animals come to life, the mystical ‘sema’ or medicine man, and marabouts who have a magic power to make wishes come true or can predict future just like a wizard. In the beginning of the book, I saw that those African boys did not live a hard time. Instead, they were happy almost every day, they loved wild animals, and the wild animals like snakes never hurt them, snakes are thought to be good friends and tutor to them. In a certain time, the author would go to visit his grandmother who lived in countryside. Here everybody knew everybody else, they know almost everything about each other, and each other’s secrets, but they were very considerate to each other in a country manner. Here we can see that country manners do not mean rough manners, people are more polite in the country than in the town. They have more time, and the way of life is simpler in the country, but there are accepted rules. Although everyone knows everything about everyone else’s lives, they are always very careful about each other’s personal freedom. And if their minds seem to work more slowly in the country, it is because speech is a serious matter. They always think careful before speaking. Here author spent a very happy time. He enjoyed the activity of cutting rice with adult and partners just as young as he is, he liked the sound of drum while cutting rice, and he loved to keep the birds away from their rice on the ground. He could swim in the river with others freely, and climb trees as he want even though his clothes would be torn. He was not afraid of that here, he had a grandma who would mend it without complain. She loved her grandson. But life is not happy all the time; there surely will be some hard time to spend. As the author went to school, old boys alwayshit the younger students, took their food and money away, but the young was too afraid to tell their fathers. Finally one day, hungry and hurt, one of the younger students dared to tell all about it to his father, one of the most famous people in the town, so the problem was solved, and the younger students was lived in a happy life ever after.Time flies, here came the day of boys becoming men. They would experience the circumci sion. The process is hurt, but it’s the price of becoming a man. All the boys behaved very bravely that they never cried out under the almost unbearable pain. They were the African children!,In the end, I want to say that although there are some strange customs in Africa, I do changed my view on the African lives. Maybe they do not as wealthy as the Europeans, but they are living a happy life too, just like the author said, Africa is huge, there’s different ways of life. Now I see Africa as a place full of love, care, magic and natural life.。

they can stay happy all their lives.
after reading, i have a better understanding of love. if you really love
someone, his or her happiness is the most matters. not having a right understanding of and attitudes towards love will only result in hurting yourself as well as the one you love. in a ward, love is the permanent theme of literature and human beings. people often struggle in those troubling romantic notions. to be or not to be, it’s really a question. however, which kind of marriage one should choose depends all on his or her character and experience, no one else can make choice for them and that’s why every love story is unique.

名著英语读后感
名著英语读后感名著英语读后感第一篇名著英语读后感第二篇名著英语读后感第四篇The protagonist of Don Quixotes novel, originally named Alonso jihada, was a local man. He was fascinated by the popular Chivalry Novels at that time and wanted to imitate the chivalry. He found a pair of tattered and incomplete armor from the antiquities of his family. He named it Don Quixote de Mancha himself. He also found a servant sangqiu and a milkmaid from the neighboring village, named Dulcinea, as his favorite person to serve him all his life. Then he rode on a thin horse and ran away from home. Don Quixote also acted according to the strange ideas in his mind, regarding windmills as giants, sheep as enemies, convicts as knights, wine bags as giants heads, indiscriminately cutting and killing, causing many ridiculous things. His actions were not only useless for people, but also suffered from beating and suffering. When he got home for the last time, he was bedridden and finally understood. He made a will, and if the niece, the only heir, married the knight, her right of inheritance would be cancelled. At first glance, Don Quixote, I think, is just a funny vulgar work. The nervous "brave spirit" of the protagonist is vividly displayed in the book, which makes people look down upon him even more. But savor carefully, and feel that there is a truth in the book. The most basic essence of people is to achieve their goals recklessly. In the process of realization, the chivalrous knight, who is as thin as a high pole, and the gentleman with fantastic ideas, always shows his integrity and kindness. This is the most noble spirit of human beings. Because it is too simple, many jokes are made. When Cervantes wrote Don Quixote, he aimed at attacking, satirizing and fabricating the strange chivalrous novel and its bad influence on people. It was intended to be written as a few short stories. Later, it was written that he wrote in his life experience and ideal. His thought content became more and more rich, and his characters became more and more realistic, until he described the disaster brought by Spanish society to the people, and became an encyclopedia for us to understand and study the social politics, economy, culture and customs of Spain at that time. This is Don Quixote. Although Don Quixote is funny, what about other people in reality? So, when we see Don Quixote, we should all reflect on ourselves. Thats what I think after watching Don Quixote.名著英语读后感第五篇I always wanted to read this famous book - I wanted to read it when I was in school, but I always missed each other and didnt see it. I finished reading today, but I was a little disappointed. I dont know why Cervantescreated such an image of a "madman".Don Quixote was a declining aristocrat. He was addicted to Knights novels and became obsessed with them. He found a pair of armor and rode on a skinny old horse. He began his imaginary journey of supporting justice and wandering the Jianghu. He is a pure and stubborn idealist, living in fantasy. In other words, he is a completely stubborn lunatic. He regarded windmills as giants, sheep as enemies, convicts as knights, and a common village woman as his princess. Repeatedly hit the wall, often head broken blood but unswervingly, infatuated. Its his servant sangqiu, who is fat and timid and greedy for a small price, who is still a normal man with flesh and blood. He will take advantage of his masters craziness and paranoia, play a little cleverness, and seize the opportunity to increase some benefits for himself. He is a real living man. Just like this, two other living treasures, a pair of unimaginable masters and servants, staged a funny farce for us. One of the most amusing scenes is that in the dark night, sangqiu is afraid to hold his masters thigh all the time and dare not give up. However, he is eager to describe courteously, which is really vivid and vivid. The most touching ones in the book are some of Don Quixotes good friends. They never give up on Old Tang. They must try their best to cure his madness. They have used violent means -to put the old Tang in a cage and escort him home with arms; they have used the means ofburning books and "pit" Confucianism - to burn all the Knights novels in the old Tang family and even seal the study; they have used the means of concealing the sky and the sea - to pretend to be a knight, to pretend to be a princess in distress and so on, all in order to pull the old Tang from fantasy to reality. They really mean to their friends, especially for such a "terminally ill" crazy friend. They didnt give up, and even were wrongly wounded and beaten by old Tang. Life can have such a few friends, enough!I just dont know the background of the times. I dont know what the intention of this episode is that some sangqiu, who was governor of the island for several days, handled several cases cleanly and fairly, but was forced to resign at last.名著英语读后感第六篇After several days of effort, I finished watching "Don Quixote" this book. It is the representative work of Spanish writer Cervantes, full name for the strange feeling different think gentleman Don Quixote, Taiwan, la has ", a total of two rolls up and down. Novel wrote, aged more than 50 of the country gentlemen Don Quixote, crazy for love knight novel, the story of the average computer-virus.Authors nonsense from the knight novel Don Quixote knight contents and real life mixed with each other, thus resulting in a series of absurd behavior a belly laugh. Him as a giant, the windmill war with it,though in a career on the way, he was cut down one ear, out many teeth, have also been interrupted several ribs, is often war often hurt, but wrong-headed, do not know to repentance. Through this absurd behavior, can feel the authors praise of the aspirations of the ideal society and noble moral.Social climate is becoming worse now, many young because of not good reading, do the small theft etc. Bad deeds. And others fell on the chair a mobile phone, the humanistic saw should be returned to their rightful owners, or call 110, but conscience never compete greed, directly turned around mobile phones, sneaked away again. Also, bank card switch events, when you do not pay attention to, blocking the card with the hand, immediately to use only one or two seconds, was successful. Social ethos is not to force, it can be very awesome, the monitor and police everywhere now are bad "mousetrap", tight dragnet, grasp not only thing in the morning and evening. Like drunk driving, or some loophole, finally revoked certificates not only, also sit in the classroom. Gods mill grinds slow but sure, now do bad things, you will regret.Don Quixote limbs developed, simple, and finally the proper price, reading a book not too obsessed, or you will average computer-virus, control yourself, we dont like.。
英语名著读后感(精选5篇)1
英语名著读后感(精选5篇)英语名著读后感【篇1】Ive just fininshed reading the first 4 harry potter books for about the 5th time through, and theyre just as magical and affecting as they have ever been. everything is in here: suspense, adventure, mystery, humour, danger. theres even some pretty satisfying paybacks. the characters are fantastic and fantastically realistic. there are bad people who turn out to be good guys and good people who turn out to be bad guys, just like life.I think the thing i like best about these books is the message that its okay to be different - to be not "normal." i would love for everyone in school to have hear that message. it would probably reduce the bullying around the school. These books value real thoughts. much has been made of harrys rule breaking, but only once in the series so far does he break a rule for arbitrary personal gain. most of the time he makes a decision that whats right is more important than whats written. and you know what? lifes like that sometimes. i think its great that kids are getting an example of how to do whats right even when it involves breaking rules. the potter books also show that there are consequences for rule breaking. if not getting caught and getting a detention, then a spell going wrong and someone getting turned into a cat. this shows that when you make a decision to go against the rules that things may not go as you expected and you have to take responsibility for the outcome.英语名著读后感【篇2】Oliver twist, one of the most famous works of charles dic kens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in britain in 18th century. The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in london. The hero of this novel was oliver twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. he suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. while reading the tragic experiences of the little oliver, i was shocked by his sufferings. i felt for the poor boy, but at the same time i detested the evil fagin and the brutal bill. to my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and oliver lived a happy life in the end. one of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of mrs. maylie and rose and began a new life. he went for walks with them, or rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. he felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty. How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? the reason is the nature of goodness. i think it is the most important information implied in the novel by dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. although i don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet i do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. goodness is to humans what water is to fish. he who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. on the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘the fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’,he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. people receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself. To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. they look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. as a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. on the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. in their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. if they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. they are one of the sorts that i really detest.Francis bacon said in his essay, ‘goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. therefore, i, a kind person, want to tell those ‘vermin-to-be’ to learn from the kind oliver and regain the nature of goodness.英语名著读后感【篇3】I believe that one of the factors that makes a piece of literature or even a movie a masterpiece is how well the reader can relate to the story. this is definitely a book everyone can relate to.The adventures of tom sawyer is a literary masterpieces, written in 1876 by the famous author mark twain. tom sawyer is a mischievous youngboy who lives in the small town on the mississippi river called st. petersburg. the story line is simple, the book reads like a biography or a memoir of a summer in tom sawyers life.Tom sawyer seems to be the precursor of and the template for misfit kids such as dennis the menace, malcolm in the middle, and calvin and hobbs. what makes this story great is that tom sawyer represents everything that is great about childhood. the book is filled with toms adventures playing pirates and war with his friend joe harper. tom has a trusted friend, huck finn, who few of the adults approve of. the book is filled with ideas of how the world works, such as how pirates and robbers work, that are so innocent, they could only come from a child. it is a story filled with action, adventure, ingenious ideas, love, and schoolyard politics. the whole story is seemingly a complication of what people did or wish they did during their childhood. The book is a little difficult to read at first. personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. other than referring to persons of african decent in derogatory terms (which im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. i highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages. 英语名著读后感【篇4】Those beautiful flowers---book review: “camille”I read the chinese version of “camille” a few years ago. at that time i was deeply moved by the main character marguerite gautier. “camille” or “the lady of the camellias” by alexandre dumas, fils,is the story of marguerite gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in paris in the mid 1800s, and how she falls in love with a young man, armand duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. unfortunately, it comes back to haunt her and she ends up returning to that life and dies painfully and alone, but with the knowledge that she was a noble woman at heart. when i first began to read the book, i did not care for marguerite or her attitude or lifestyle, but as i got further into the narrative, i realized that her saucy attitude was a front to cover the lonely woman that she really was. she felt used, abused and unloved, until the gentle armand duval came into her life and showed her that he loved her as a person and not for what she could do for him. it must have taken great courage for marguerite to leave the life she had lived for so long, knowing all along that it was probably too good to be true and would not last indefinitely. and it also showed that marguerite really loved armand duval for she could even change herself for him. However, happiness didn’t last for long. when m. duval, armands father, came to her, pleading for her to leave armand to save both armands reputation and that of his younger innocent sister, marguerite saw a way to become pure of heart, if not in body. she felt that it was her duty, because she loved armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up her own happiness and hurting armand temporarily. she reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that some day armand would forgive her. sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, julie duprat, who helped her during her illness. she had her journal sent to armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. i think dumass last few lines about marguerite being the exception, not the rule were quite true, and i also agreed with his viewthat while her lifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all of these type of women are cold and heartless, while this may not always be the case. a person can make the wrong choices in life when they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimes past situations prevent them from changing their lives, even though they desperately wish to do so. this applies to both men and women in many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime; drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems; poor marriage choices; etc. and this is the fact, which exists in the whole society. As far as the other characters in the book, i think marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being armand and julie duprat. of course, the comte de g. and comte de n. wanted her body and appearance. the duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. if he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. and lastly, prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used marguerite almost worse than the men. i also think she was jealous of the fact that marguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.Last morning, when tiding my bookshelf, i took this book out of the shelf, and a dried flower flew away from the book. it was pale blue, very transparent, with thin fine veins. a dried flower flew away from the book. it was pale blue, very transparent, with thin fine veins. i held it against the morning light and blew on it. the soft breeze carried it away. camille is just like the camellia, she could never escape from the destiny of withering. but it wasn’t her fault; it’s because of the evil of capitalism and the hideousness of that society.Suddenly, i remembered a saying: “women are like the flowers”. those pretty women are like those beautiful flowers; their delicate beauty makes people feel they are the miracle of life. however, even the god envies their beauty. it seems that beautiful women always have tragic endings. as we are normal persons, even we can see the hideousness of humanity that results in their fate of withering, we can at most ask quietly in our hearts: where have those beautiful flowers gone? where have they gone?。

英语名著阅读读后感优秀4篇
英语名著阅读读后感优秀4篇篇一:英语名著读后感篇一Here I am sitting on a couch alone, thinking about what I have just finished reading with tears of sadnefilling my eyes and fire of indignation filling my heart, which revived my exhausted soul that has already been covered by the cruelty and the selfishneof the secular world for a long time. It is truly what I felt after reading Oliver Twist, written by the prominent British author Charles Dickens. The resonance between me and the book makes me feel not only the kindneand the wickedneof all the characters in the novel, but what this aloof society lacks, and what I lack deep inside. These supreme resources I’m talking about right now are somewhat different from minerals, oil that we usually mention. They’re abstract like feelings, and some kinds of spiritual stimulation that all of us desire anxiously from one another —— love and care. Those charitable figures whom Dickens created in the novel are really what we need in life. They showed love and care to others, just as the gentle rain from the sky fell upon the earth, which was carved into my heart deeply.Mr. Brownlow is one such person. The other day he had one of his elaborate watches stolen by two skilled teenage thieves, Artful Dodger and Charley Bates, and thought naturally it was Oliver, who was an orphan and forced to live with a gang of thieves, that had done it because he was the only one near by after the theft had takenplace. Being wrathful, he caught Oliver, and sent him to the police station where the ill-tempered, unfair magistrates worked. Fortunately for him, Oliver was proved innocent by one onlooker afterwards. With sympathy, Mr. Brownlow took the injured, poor Oliver to his own home. There Oliver lived freely and gleefully for some months as if he were Mr. Brown low’s own son. One day, however, Mr. Brownlow asked Oliver to return some books to the bookseller and to send some money for the new books that he had already collected. The thief Oliver once stayed with kidnapped him. After that he disappeared in Mr. Brow nlow’s life. Searching for a while, Mr. Brownlow had to believe the fact that he had run away with his money. But dramatically, they came acroeach other again a few years later. Without hesitation, Mr. Brownlow took Oliver home for the second time not caring if he had done something evil.Perhaps most of us would feel confused about Mr. Brownlow’s reaction. But as a matter of fact, this is just the lesson we should learn from him. Jesus said in the Bible. “Forgive not seven times, but seventy-times seven.” Why is that? Because forgiveneis our ability to remove negative thoughts and neutralize them so our energy may be spent on doing what we came here for. We cannot move forward in our future if past issues cloud our thinking. Stop put Mr. Brownlow into the list of your models. Always give people a second chance no matter what they might have done. That’s also a substantial part of loving and caring others.Charles Dickens said:“Love makes the world go around.” These immortal words have inspired and will keep on inspiring us to chant the melody of love and to say the prayer of care forevermore. Let us, therefore, enjoy lifeand treat other people lovingly. These principles are the roots and foundations of beliefs supporting this article and our mission together.篇二:名著读后感英文版篇二《围城》这本书我读了后感想很多。

英语名著读后感英文
英语名著读后感英文After reading several English classics, I have come to realize the profound impact that these works have had on the world of literature and on me personally. The themes, characters, and writing styles of these famous novels have left a lasting impression on me, and I would like to share my thoughts and feelings about some of these remarkable works. One of the most influential English classics that I have read is "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen. This novel, set in 19th century England, explores the themes of love, marriage, and social status. The character of Elizabeth Bennet, a strong-willed and independent woman, has inspired me in many ways. Her determination to marry for love rather than for financial security is a message that still resonates with readers today. The witty and intelligent dialogue in the novel, along with the vivid descriptions of the English countryside, make "Pride and Prejudice" a truly captivating read.Another classic that has left a deep impression on me is "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. This powerful novel addresses issues of racial injustice and moral growth in the American South. The character of Atticus Finch, a lawyer who defends a black man accused of raping a white woman, embodies the principles of integrity and compassion. The novel's poignant portrayal of childhood innocence and the harsh realities of society has made it a timeless and thought-provoking work.In addition, "1984" by George Orwell has also had a profound impact on me. This dystopian novel, set in a totalitarian society, explores the dangers of government surveillance and the loss of individual freedom. The character of Winston Smith, who rebels against the oppressive regime, serves as a cautionary tale about the dangers of unchecked power. The novel's chilling depiction of a society ruled by fear and manipulation has made it a haunting and unforgettable read.Overall, the English classics that I have read have broadened my understanding of the human experience and have deepened my appreciation for the power of literature. The timeless themes and enduring characters in these novels continue to resonate with readers around the world, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to immerse myself inthese remarkable works. I highly recommend these novels to anyone who is looking for thought-provoking and emotionally resonant literature.。
五年级下册名著读后感英语作文550字三国演义
五年级下册名著读后感英语作文550字三国演义全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Romance of the Three Kingdoms - A Legendary Tale of Heroes and TurmoilAs a 5th grader, I was really excited to read the classic Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms for our literature class. At first, I was a little intimidated by how thick and old the book looked. But as soon as I started reading, I was hooked! This story from ancient China is just so epic and action-packed.The book takes place around 200 AD, when the Han Dynasty was falling apart. China was split into three feuding kingdoms - Wei, Shu, and Wu - which were constantly at war with each other. The tale follows the heroic adventures and battles of legendary figures like Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Cao Cao, Zhuge Liang, and many more. One of the most famous characters is Guan Yu, known for his fierce bravery and loyalty. With his green dragon-faced bisento polearm, red face, and awesome beard, he was an unbeatable warrior on the battlefield. Whenever the battles got reallyintense, I could vividly picture Guan Yu charging in on his red horse, taking down dozens of enemies! Liu Bei was lucky to have such a powerful brother joining his cause.Another hero I loved reading about was the genius strategist Zhuge Liang. Despite being from a humble village, his intelligence and quick-thinking helped save Shu many times against the stronger Wei kingdom. My favorite part was the Battle of Red Cliffs, where Zhuge Liang's clever use of the "burning ships" strategy allowed Shu's smaller forces to prevail in a pivotal naval battle. It just showed how important wise leadership is.While there was a ton of epic fighting, the novel also had plenty of storylines about politics, personal struggles, and the philosophical ideas of Confucianism and Daoism. I was really intrigued learning about how the different kingdoms tried to gain the "Mandate of Heaven" to rule over China through virtuous leadership. The book taught me that while military strength is important, a good ruler also needs intelligence, loyalty from his people, and moral authority.Overall, reading the Romance of the Three Kingdoms was like going on a thrilling journey through the battles, heroics, and philosophies of ancient China. While the writing style and namescould be confusing at times, I tried my best to appreciate this renowned masterpiece. It's crazy to think this 1500 year old novel is still being read and loved today! I can definitely see why it's considered one of the greatest classic novels of all time. I'd absolutely recommend this legendary tale to anyone who loves action, drama, and dynamic characters.篇2My Book Report on Romance of the Three KingdomsI recently finished reading the classic Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong. It's a really long book that tells the story of the wars and power struggles in ancient China around 200 AD, after the Han Dynasty collapsed. Even though it's an old story, I found it super exciting and full of cool characters and events! The book follows the adventures and battles of different warlords as they fought to control territory and eventually form three rival kingdoms - Wei, Shu, and Wu. There are way too many characters to summarize, but my favorites were the mighty warrior generals like Guan Yu with his green dragon crescent blade, and Zhang Fei with his snake-shaped spear. They were loyal brothers who helped lead the Shu kingdom. On the other side, there were clever strategists and advisers like Zhuge Liang of Shu and Sima Yi of Wei. Zhuge Liang was especially cool - he was wise, tricky, and could seemingly work miracles on the battlefield with his ingenious tactics. He had this awesome moment when he scared the enemy by having his soldiers attacking at night while holding up glowing sogarus crackers insects to make it look like an army of ghostly warriors was upon them! Sima Yi was Zhuge Liang's rival and unlike him, used more deception and cunning to gain power over time.My other favorite character was Cao Cao, who ruled over the Wei kingdom. He started off as a relatively minor warlord but through his smarts and strength, he gradually took over more and more territory in the chaos after the Han Dynasty ended. I loved the scenes showing him recruiting talented people to his cause and outmaneuvering his enemies with surprise attacks and smart strategies. He had this awesome quote: "I would prefer to betray the world rather than have the world betray me." So cold but brilliant!Of course, there was tons of epic battles and wars described in cool detail, like the famous Battle of Red Cliffs early on where the outnumbered alliance of Liu Bei and Sun Quan used fire attacks to destroy Cao Cao's navy. Mostly though, I was superinto the strategies, philosophies, relationships and personal stories of the different characters. The book showed their loyalty, bravery, cunning and struggles for power and survival in those harsh times. It's awesome that it's a true story too, based on the actual Three Kingdoms period.Overall, Romance of the Three Kingdoms was kind of long and tough to get through sometimes with all the philosophical advice and details. But I'll never forget the brave heroes, smart strategists, and awesome battle scenes. It's one of the most famous books from ancient China for good reason! I'm definitely going to read more classic Chinese novels after this one. Let me know if you want me to suggest any others!篇3A Legendary Tale of Battles, Brotherhood and Betrayal - My Book Report on Romance of the Three KingdomsWhat an epic adventure I just went on by reading the classic Chinese novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms! This book, written a long time ago in the 14th century by Luo Guanzhong, tells the story of the epic wars and power struggles in ancient China around 200 AD. While the hundreds of characters and decades of history were a lot to take in at first, I got completelyhooked on following the fate of the legendary heroes and their loyal brotherhood. The story starts by introducing us to the problems in the centdian Han dynasty. The greedy and cruel prime minister Dong Zhuo has taken control by force, overthrowing the child emperor. This kicks off a series of epic battles and shifting alliances between the brave warriors determined to defeat Dong Zhuo and restore peace. The good guys in the beginning are the brave fighters Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei who become like blood brothers, swearing an oath of loyalty in a peach garden. As the wars rage across the land, more heroes emerge like the brilliant strategist Zhuge Liang who serves Liu Bei, and the strong-willed Cao Cao who founds the Kingdom of Wei in the north. The battles between Cao Cao's forces and the allied armies led by Liu Bei and his advisors are so exciting, with brilliant military strategies and heroic fighters performing incredible acts of skill and bravery. I was in awe reading about the "God of War" warrior Guan Yu who could slay dozens of soldiers seemingly by himself with his legendary Green Dragon Crescent Blade! While it's captivating following Liu Bei and his allies' quest to defeat the villainous Cao Cao and restore the Han dynasty, I wasalso fascinated by Cao Cao himself. At first he seems like the main villain trying to grasp power for himself. But as the story goes on, you see his。

名著老人与海英语读后感
名著老人与海英语读后感《老人与海》表达了海明威的人生哲学和道德理想,永不服输的斗士精神和积极向上的乐观人生态度。
以下是带来的老人与海英语,希望对你有帮助。
When I was a middle school student, I’ve finished this book in Chinese. But when I read it in English,I really gain something new both in the way of expression and the spirit it shows to us.May be different ages to read the same book we will learn different things from it.At least, for my part, that is true.Firstly,I would like to review some information about this book.Such as the background, major characters and the topic of it.The Old Man and the Sea is a story by Ernest Hemingway, written in Cuba in 1951 and published in 1952. It was the last major work of fiction to be produced by Hemingway and published in his lifetime. One of his most famous works, it centers upon Santiago, an aging Cuban fisherman who struggles with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream. The Old Man and the Sea served to reinvigorate Hemingway's literary reputation and prompted a reexamination of his entire body of work. The novella was initially received with much popularity; it restored many readers' confidence in Hemingway's capability as an author. Its publisher, Scribner's, on an early dust jacket, calledthe novella a "new classic," and many critics favorably pared it with such works as William Faulkner's "The Bear" and Herman Melville's Moby-Dick.This book gives me a deep impression especially the description about the man’s braveness and persistence. In this book, in order to suggest the profundity of the old man’s sacrifice and the glory that derives from it, Hemingway purposefully likens Santiago to Christ, who, aording to Christian theology, gave his life for the greater glory of humankind. Crucifixion imagery is the most noticeable way in which Hemingway creates the symbolic parallel between Santiago and Christ. When Santiago’s palms are first cut by his fishing line, the reader cannot help but think of Christ suffering his stigmata. Later, when the sharks arrive, Hemingway portrays the old man as a crucified martyr, saying that he makes a noise similar to that of a man having nails driven through his hands. Furthermore, the image of the old man struggling up thehill with his mast across his shoulders recalls Christ’s march toward Calvary. Even the position in which Santiago collapses on his bed—face down with his arms out straight and the palms of his hands up—brings to mind the image of Christ suffering on the cross. Hemingway employs these images in the final pages of the novella in order to link Santiago to Christ, who exemplified transcendence byturning loss into gain, defeat into triumph, and even death into renewed life. The major characters in this book are also vivid and lively.Santiago?,the old man of the novella’s title, Santiago is a Cuban fisherman who has had an extended run of bad luck. Despite his expertise, he has been unable to catch a fish for eighty-four days. He is humble, yet exhibits a justified pride in his abilities. His knowledge of the sea and its creatures, and of his craft, is unparalleled and helps him preserve a sense of hope regardless of circumstance. The marlin?,Santiago hooks the marlin, which we learn at the end of the novella measures eighteen feet, on the first afternoon of his fishing expedition. Manolin?,a boy presumably in his adolescence, Manolin is Santiago’s apprentice and devoted attendant. The old man first took him out on a boat when he was merely five years old. Due to Santiago’s recent bad luck, Manolin’s parents have forced the boy to go out on a different fishing boat. Manolin, however, still cares deeply for the old man, to whom he continues to look as a mentor.Joe DiMaggio, although DiMaggio never appears in the novel, he plays a significant role noheless. Santiago worships him as a model of strength and mitment, and histhoughts turn toward DiMaggio whenever he needs to reassure himself of his own strength. Perico ?,Perico, the reader assumes, owns the bodega in Santiago’s village. He never appears in the novel, but he serves an important role in the fisherman’s life by providing him with newspapers that report the baseball scores. This act establishes him as a kind man who helps the aging Santiago.Martin, like Perico, Martin, a café owner in Santiago’s village, does not appear in the story. The reader learns of him through Manolin, who often goes to Martin for Santiago’s supper. As the old man says, Martin is a man of frequent kindness who deserves to be repaid. From the very first paragraph, Santiago is characterized as someone struggling against defeat. He has gone eighty-four days without catching a fish—he will soon pass his own record of eighty-seven days. Almost as a reminder of Santiago’s struggle, the sail of his skiff resembles “the flag of permanent defeat.” But the old man refuses defeat at every turn: he resolves to sail out beyond the other fishermen to where the biggest fish promise to be. He lands the marlin, tying his record of eighty-seven days after a brutal three-day fight, and he continues to ward off sharks from stealing his prey, even though he knows the battle is useless.Because Santiago is pitted against the creatures of the sea, some readers choose to view the tale as a chronicle of man’s battle against the natural world, but the novella is, more aurately, the story of man’s place w ithin nature. Both Santiago and the marlin display qualities of pride, honor, and bravery, and both are subject to the sameeternal law: they must kill or be killed. As Santiago reflects when he watches the weary warbler fly toward shore, where it will inevitably meet the hawk, the world is filled with predators, and no living thing can escape theinevitable struggle that will lead to its death. Santiago lives aording to his own observation: “man is not made for defeat . . . [a] man can be destroyed but not defeated.”In Hemingway’s portrait of the world, death is inevitable, but the best men (and animals) will noheless refuse to give in to its power. Aordingly, man and fish will struggle to the death, just as hungry sharks will lay waste to an old man’s tro phy catch. The novel suggests that it is possible to transcendthis natural law. In fact, the very inevitability of destruction creates the terms that allow a worthy man or beast to transcend it. It is precisely through the effortto battle the inevitable that a man can prove himself. Indeed, a man can prove this determination over and over through the worthiness of the opponents he chooses to face.Santiago finds the marlin worthy of a fight, just as he once found “the great negro of Cienfuegos” worthy. HSantiago, though destroyed at the end of the novella, is never defeated. Instead, he emerges as a hero. Santiago’s struggle does not enable him to change man’s place in the world. Rather, it enables him to meet his most dignified destiny. While it is certainly true that Santiago’s eighty-four-day run of bad luck is an affront to his pride as a masterful fisherman, and that his attempt to bear out his skills by sailing far into the gulf waters leads to disaster, Hemingway does not condemn his protagonist for being full of pride. On the contrary, Santiago stands as proof that pride motivates men to greatness. Because the old man acknowledges that he killed the mighty marlin largely out of pride, and because his capture of the marlin leads in turn to his heroic transcendence of defeat, pride bees the source of Santiago’s greatest strength. Without a ferocious sense of pride, that battle would never have been fought, or more likely, it would have been abandoned before the end.Santiago’s pride also motiva tes his desire to transcend the destructive forces of nature. Throughout the novel, no matter how baleful his circumstances bee, the old man exhibits an unflagging determination to catch themarlin and bring it to shore. When the first shark arrives, Santi ago’s resolve is mentioned twice in the space of just a few paragraphs. Even if the old man had returned with the marlin intact, his moment of glory, like the marlin’s meat, would have been short-lived. The glory and honor Santiago arues es not from his battle itself but from his pride and determination to fight.Santiago dreams his pleasant dream of the lions at play on the beaches of Africa three times. The first time is the night before he departs on his three-day fishing expedition, the second ours when he sleeps on the boat for a few hoursin the middle of his struggle with the marlin, and thethird takes place at the very end of the book. In fact, the sober promise of the triumph and regeneration with whichthe novella closes is supported by the final image of the lions. Because Santiago associates the lions with his youth, the dream suggests the circular nature of life. Additionally, because Santiago imagines the lions, fierce predators, playing, his dream suggests a harmony betweenthe opposing forces—life and death, love and hate, destruction and regeneration—of nature. This book gives me courage of conquering all kinds of difficulties .And I have the belief that the most beautiful thing is the process that we make our best to achieve our dream, and never say give up .the Old Man and the Sea is one of Hemingway\'s most enduring works and may very well bee one of the trueclassics of this generation. It played a GREat part in his winning the Pulizer Prize in 1953 and the 1954 Novel Prize for Literature and confirmed his power and presence in the literary world. Hemingway is also one of my favorite writers. Besides The Old Man And the Sea, I have read someof his other works, such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewellto Arms and The Snow of Kilimanijaro. But The Old Man and the Sea is the one that left the deepest impression on me.I first read this book when I was in my fifteens. And now I remember it just as well as if I had read it yesterday.Pride and Prejudice is a chefdoeuvre. My first impression of this story was from screen.It\'s long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I don\'t remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. It\'s pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the heroine, though I didn\'t think she\'s beautiful. But she\'s smart. However, I didn\'t pay much attention to the plot. I thought it\'s so long that it made me impatient and bored.By now, I haven\'t read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice. In fact, I didn\'t understand the story at that time. I didn\'t know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didn\'t find where\' s the prejudice. I thought it\'s normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. I\'m a prejudiced person so I can\'t findwhere\'s wrong. I merely like to do the things I like. Everytime I meet somebody or something,my thinking about he or it all depends on my foregone experience and my mood of the time.。

approved you, and absolved you from guilt, you would not be without friends.2) [useful e_pression] (p.231)prejudices, it is well known, as most difficult to eradicate from the heart whose soil has never been loosened or fertilized by education: they grow there, firm as weeds among stones.3) [useful e_pression] (p.40)life appears to me too short to be spent in nursing animosity or registering wrongs.the type of materials in this book is written in english, and the topic area is literature. i spent reading the book for 2 months.in the world history of literature, some many classical famous works are going to be immortal, but janeeyre deeply enters people"s soul deeply, it byirresistible intrinsic deep has attracted the tens of thousands of readers deeply, has affected people"s inner world, is in the world history of literature the eternal classics.when jane eyre was a baby, her parents died. so she had to live with her uncle and his family. unfortunately, her uncle also went away several years later.then jane was sent to the logwood, which was a charity school and became a teacher there when she grown up. later she left it to bee a governess of adela varens, the ward of mr. edward rochester, a thornfield manor. later, jane and mr. rochester fell in love with each other, and they decided to get married. but mr. rochester was revealed that he had a wife during the wedding ceremony. so jane left thornfield and mr. rochester. otherwise mr. rochester’s wife was crazy. one day, she made a fire. mr. rochester tried his best to save his wife, but failed and his eyes were burnt and he became blind.the terrible news came to jane, she came back to mr. rochester hurriedly. jane told mr. rochester that she still loved him a lot, and tried her best to cheer him up. finally, they got married, andhad a lovely baby.this book enthralled me with the charm of language, and brought home to me the great wealth of english words and phrases.but this book is too difficult to me, and i had to look up a number of words. if there are e_plains of some difficult words, i think it will be much better.the figure of jane eyre had the greatest impact on me. after i close the covers of the book, after having a long journey of the spirit, jane eyre, a marvelous figure, has left us so much to recall and to think: i remember her goodness, her pursuit of justice, her self-respect and the clear situation on equality, her striving for life, her toughness and her confidence…the writing of the book is effective, beautiful and even fascinating. the author is skillful in telling stories. i can easily find out the characters of these dramatis personages.behind the wonderful story, the authore_pressed herstrong dissatisfactions to the society then. the author thinks that people should be good educated, and everyone is equal, no matter male or female.the new facts that i hadn’t learn before is goodness.i remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past.to me, i think that i can hardly forgive those people who have hurt me deeply. may be it is good enough that not to do some revenge.as a result of reading this book, her story makes me thinking about life and i learn much from her e_perience, at least, that is a fresh new recognition of the real.i can feel that how beauty really is, as we are all fleshly men, so we can’t distinguish whether a man is of nobleness or humbleness, but fleshly men, so we can’t distinguish whether a man is of nobleness or humbleness, but as there are great differences in our souls, and from that, we can know that whether a man is noble or ordinary, and even obscure, that is, whether he is beautiful or not.in essence, bronte"s novel became a direct assault on victorian morality. controversy basedin its realistic e_posure of thoughts once considered improper for a lady of the 19th century.emotions any respectable girl would repress. women at this time were not to feel passion, nor were they considered se_ual beings.to conceive the thought of women e_pressing rage and blatantly retaliating against authority was defianceagainst the traditional role of women. jane eyre sent controversy through the literary munity.for not only was it written by a woman but marked the first use ofrealistic characters. jane"s ple_ity lied in her being neither holy good or evil. she was poor and plain in a time when society considered “an ugly woman a blot on the face of creation.” it challenged victorian class structure in a strictly hierarchal society.a relationship between a lowly governess and a wealthy nobleman was simply unheard of. bronte drew criticism for her attack on the aristocracy who she deemed as hypocritical “showy but ... not genuine.” she assaulted individual"s already established morals by presenting a plausible case for bigamy.

Sense and Sensibility was the first Jane Austen published. Though she initially called it Elinor and Marianne, Austen jettisoned both the title and the epistolary mode in which it was originally written, but kept the essential theme: the necessity of finding a workable middle ground between passion and reason. The story revolves around the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne. Whereas the former is a sensible, rational creature, her younger sister is wildly romantic--a characteristic that offers Austen plenty of scope for both satire and passion. Commenting on Edward Ferrars, a potential suitor for Elinor's hand, Marianne admits that while she "loves him tenderly," she finds him disappointing as a possible lover for her sister.Soon however, Marianne meets a man who measures up to her ideal: Mr. Willoughby, a new neighbor. So swept away by passion is Marianne that her behavior begins to border on the scandalous. Then Willoughby abandons her; meanwhile, Elinor's growing affection for Edward suffers a check when he admits he is secretly engaged to a childhood sweetheart. How each of the sisters reacts to their romantic misfortunes, and the lessons they draw before ing finally to the requisite happy ending forms the heart of the novel. Though Marianne's disregard for social conventions and willingness to consider the world well-lost for love may appeal to modern readers, it is Elinor whom Austen herself most evidently admired; a truly happy marriage, she shows us, exists only where sense and sensibility meet and mix in proper measure. This article is from inter, only for studying!" Les Miserables " (1862) is representative works of Victor Hugo,as one of the most famous novels in the French literature. The novel basic plot is Ran A Rang pitiful life history. He originally is one poor family background worker, because the ine insufficient family member gets by, by one time stole the bread is arrested is put in prison. Passed 19 years firm prison and the bitter service life. The punishment pletely after also has the larceny behavior, butbenevolent bishop in the rice the sorrowful influence, the transformation is one shed oneself manner person. He uses an alias is Madland, works as the entrepreneur, and is pushed for mayor. But soon and further because exposed the status is arrested is put in prison, after escapes rescues the deceased female worker Fantin's daughter Cosette match from one bastard hand special, went to Paris. Afterwards again unceasingly encountered police's pursuit. The Ran A Rang entire life fills is imprisoned the pain which the bitter service and drifts about destitute, this is the novel main clue." Les Miserables " is the work which one realism and the romanticism unifies, the very many chapters glitter the realism glory, such as , in 1832 Paris's street barricade war all wrote is quite real. But the romanticism technique quite was also obvious in the plot arrangement, writes the many extraordinary events. If Ran A rang lets lie down is lifted in the coffin the monastery, he rescues from the street barricade Marilius, all is strange, molds, environment description, symbolic and contrast techniqueaspect and so on utilization in the character image, also manifests the romanticism the characteristic. My Feelings after reading Wuthering HeightsWuthering Heights is a well-written tragedy of love. After reading the whole story, I would like to talk about the main characters of the story—Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff. Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff love each other very much, but they do not have the right attitude towards love, which leads to the tragedy. In Catherine’s life, she made a very foolish decision---marrying to Edgar. In fact, her love for Edgar can never be pared to that for Heathcliff. She did so, because she thought the wealth of Edgar would be useful to Heathcliff. But in reality, it did not work. She did not have a good understanding of love, which is something pure and saint. If anyone add any purpose into love, love itself lost its meaning. Catherine’s wrong decision hurt two people who love her, and even destroyed the happiness of their offspring.Heathcliff is a man full of retaliation. He loved Catherine very much, but what he did, on the contrary, added to the misery of Catherine. In my opinion, if he really loved Catherine, he should not walk into Catherine’s life again after his disappearance. Further more, after the death of Catherine, what Heathcliff did brought agony to Catherine’s daughter, as well as his own son. After reading, I have a better understanding of love. If you love really someone, his or her happiness is the thing that most matters.模板,内容仅供参考。
