Reading makes one wise, but many adults seldom read. They say they
are too busy to have time to read. Sure. They have work to do. They have
families to support. But these are only excuses. The fact is that they haven’t
got a reading habit. A reading habit isn’t something natural. It needs to be
trained. And it’s never too late to develop a reading habit.
Scientists believe proper books are very important for children to
develop a good reading habit. A book in rich colors and with simple
patterns(图案) such as lines and circles is a good choice for babies of three months old. When they reach six months, they will become interested in simple story books in rich colors.
When children get old enough to read by themselves, it’s necessary to buy books that are both interesting and right for them to understand. Books which are either too easy or too difficult are not good for kids to keep their reading habits.
Only buying books for children isn’t enough. For kids, parents are their first teachers. So parents should read books to set an example. Children will follow them. Scientists say imitating the adults is a born skill. And it is the most valuable way for children to learn. This will certainly help them develop a reading habit in the end.

A. We should buy more books for children.

C. Children can read by themselves when they get old enough.
D. Parents should read books to set an example for their children.

Five homeowners in Holland are testing the heating system in their homes.
“We pay for the computer using, so, in that way, homeowners get heating for free,” Boaz says.
Jan Visser is one of the homeowners. “If you use the computer more, the e-Radiator producers more heat,” he says, “It cannot provide enough heat if you don’t use your computer often.” But he is read y to try it. It’s a great help for his family.

Dear editors,
As we all know, because of the growing population, there are more problems that we are facing. The water becomes dirtier and dirtier, even some people don’t have water to use. People often throw away the rubbish, especially, plastic bags are everywhere. People cut down a lot of trees to make enough paper.
In order to live a better life, we should do something to protect our earth.
First, we shouldn’t throw rubbish into rivers or lakes. And then we can have clean water. Take short showers. Uses less water to do the washing. Don’t leave the water running when you brush your teeth.
Second, put your rubbish into different bags for bottles, paper and food, then put them into the rubbish bins around you. We should use fewer plastic bags. Use the shopping bags from the supermarket again as rubbish bags.
Third, we should use less paper, write on both sides of the paper, not just on one side. And then it will stop people from cutting down the trees.。
