一.The analysis of the teaching materials:
The main topic of this unit is the animals. During this unit ,students are going to be familiar with more animals and learn to describe the animals. Meaning while it is important to arise their sympathy to animal protecting.
二.The analysis of students
This is the first form English class and I design many activities here to motivate their interests in class. Thus they will be willing to take part in the class activities. Furthermore, the pair work and group work learning method will be used in this class.
三.Teaching aims:
1.Be aware of the new words:Animal: panda, tiger, elephant, lion, giraffe, cat

—Why do you like pandas? —Because they are kind of interesting.

1.Arise their interests of English-learning.
2. To arise their sympathy of animals and be willing to protect the animals.

Step 1. Lead in
The teacher asks some questions, and Ss answer them. T: Where are you from?
S1: I am from…
T: Where do you live?
S2: I live in…
T: Is there a zoo near here?
S3: Ye s, there is. / No, there isn’t.
T: Where is the zoo?
S4: It is next to/ across from/ between…and…
T: Let’s go to the zoo together, OK?
S4: OK! Let’s go. / Sorry…
Step 2. Presentation
Ask students to name as many animals as they can in English. Write the list on the blackboard.
2)Ask students to describe each animal in some ways. And write the description words on the blackboard
3)Present the following to the students
T: I like pandas. Do you like them?
S1: Yes, I do.
T: Why do you like them?
S1: Because they are very cute.
T: Let’s see the pandas. Do you want to see the pandas?
S2: Yes, I do.
T: Why do you want to see the pandas?
S2: Because they are very cute.
T: OK! Let’s see the pandas.
4)Write the following on the blackboard and get the students to read after the teacher three times. And try to remember them.
A: Let’s see the pandas.
B: Why do you want to see the pandas?
A: Because they’re cute.

T:Please talk about the animals you like with your partner like this:
A: What do you think of pandas?
B: I love them. They are so cute.
Step5 listening
T : This activity provides listening practice using the target language.
Call attention to the two blank lines on the left. Say, You will hear a recording of a conversation .Listen carefully Then write the names of the two animals you hear on these lines.
Play the recording twice. Write in the names of the animals.
Point out the adjectives listed on the right. Ask a student to say the words.
Say, I’m going to play the recording again This time draw a line between each animal and the adjective you hear.
2b This activity provides listening and writing practice using the target language. Call attention to the conversation and the blank lines in it. Say, You will hear the recording again. This time please write a word from the box on each blank line. Some words can be used more than one time.
Ask a student to read the words in the box.
Listen and fill in the blanks.
Step6 pair work
This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.
Call attention to the conversation in the picture. Ask two Ss to read it to the class. Say, Now you can have conversations like this one Use the words in Box I, Box 2 and Box 3 in your conversations.
Demonstrate a conversation with a student. For example:
S: Do you like penguins?
T: Yes, I do.
S Why ?
T :Because they’re very cute.
