一、教学目标
1. 语言知识目标
1.掌握以下词汇:send, exchange, e-mail, pen pal, English, postcard。
2.熟练掌握以下句型:She learnt English from her pen pal. She sent an e-mail to her pen pal. She exchanged postcards with her pen pal.
3.能够通过综合语言能力完成听、说、读、写、译的任务。
2. 情感态度目标
1.培养学生喜欢英语学习的兴趣。
2.培养学生珍惜朋友、友谊的美好情感。
二、教学重点
1.培养学生听、说、读、写、译的综合语言能力。
2.培养学生通过交流学习英语的兴趣。
3.教授重点词汇、词组的拼写、发音和用法。
三、教学难点
1.培养学生对外语文化习惯的认知。
2.提高学生的英汉互译、写作水平和表达能力。
四、教学过程设计
1. warming-up activity
1.Greetings.
2.Show some pictures of different kinds of letters and ask “Which one of these do you often use?” “How do you usually communicate with your friends?”
3.Ask some students to model the dialogue, e.g. exchanging postcards, sending e-mails, etc.
2. lead-in activity
1.Introduce the topic: ‘She learnt English from her pen pal.’ Ask students if they have a pen pal. “What’s he or she like?” “What do you usually write to him or her about?”
2.Ask students to read the text and answer the following questions:
•Who is Emily’s pen pal?
•How did Emily learn English?
•Where did Emily’s pen pal live?
3. vocabulary learning
1.Play a video to introduce the new words (send, exchange, e-mail, pen pal, English, postcard).
2.Ask students to repeat the words and explain their meanings.
3.Ask students to spell the words and practice their pronunciation.
4.Have students match the words with their meanings.
4. reading comprehension
1.Ask students to read the text again and answer some questions based on the text:
•How did Emily communicate with her pen pal?
•What did Emily send to her pen pal?
•How does Emily feel about her pen pal?
5. language practice
1.Ask students to work in pairs and practice the following sentences:
•She learnt English from her pen pal.
•She sent an e-mail to her pen pal.
•She exchanged postcards with her pen pal.
2.Ask some students to come to the front and practice these sentences.
6. writing practice
1.Ask students to write a short letter to their pen pal introducing themselves and asking some questions about their pen pal.
2.Help students edit their letters and encourage them to exchange letters with other students in the class.
