蓄电池用途讲解英文
A battery is a device composed of one or more electrochemical cells that convert stored chemical energy into electrical energy. Batteries are commonly used to power portable electronic devices like cell phones and laptop computers, as well as to start automobiles and provide backup power for building security and emergency response systems. Primary batteries are non-rechargeable. Examples of primary batteries include the traditional alkaline battery found in many consumer electronic products, and the so-called 'dry' cells used in torches, radios and calculators.
Secondary batteries are rechargeable. Examples of secondary batteries are lead acid batteries (used in cars), nickel-cadmium batteries (nicad) of the types used in cordless power tools and portable drills, and lithium-ion batteries (LIP) used in mobile phones and laptop computers.
Lithium-ion, and lithium-ion polymer, batteries are now the most popular type of rechargeable battery for small electronic devices, such as mobile phones, digital cameras, and laptop computers. They have a high energy-to-weight ratio and no “memory effect”, which means they can be recharged before they are completely discharged.
