阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项中,选出最佳选项。

Forgiving someone who has hurt you or let you down is never an easy thing. Several new studies, however, say that it could have a lot of health benefits(益处). When you think of forgiveness, you probably don’t think of it as a healthy or medical problem. Studies from Stanford University, on the other hand, show that something like anger can change your well-being.
When cartoon book characters like the Incredible Hulk get angry, they change colours and often get special power. In the real world, anger is less obvious. Stanford Fred Luskin, founder of the Stanford Forgiveness Project and author of Forgive for Good, says holding on to anger and hatred can harm your physical and mental health. Two new studies seem to show the same idea.
The studies find that people who are able to forgive feel less stress, less back pain, and less depression(消沉). They also have fewer headaches, lower blood pressure, and fewer problems on sleeping.
So it doesn’t matter if your anger is caused by the traffic or other things. Learning to let it go is important. Techniques such as deep breath can help. Or just ask yourself if it’s worth hurting yourself by st aying angry with someone else.
Forgiveness does not mean that you simply accept what happened and say it’s OK. Instead, it’s a way of making peace with yourself about what happened in the past.

A. by raising his own examples

Teachers in US
Experts say the United States will need more than two million new teachers in the next 10 years. More than one million public school teachers are close to retirement (退休). So schools will have to do more to get people to become teachers. The National Education Association says the shortage of teachers from racial minorities(少数民族)is getting bigger. The N.E.A. is the largest teachers union in the country.
The government last counted the teachers in year 2000. It found that 84 percent of the teachers were white, compared to only 61 percent of the students. African Americans were about 17 percent of the children in public schools. This was true of less than 8 percent of the teachers. And Hispanics represented about 16 percent of the students but less than 6 percent of the teachers.
Many people, however, say they do not enter teaching because it gets less respect than other professions. Only about 10 percent of teachers in the lower grades are male, compared to nearly 60 percent in the upper grades. Also, demand for minority college graduates means these job seekers can often get other work that pays more.
Teachers must have at least a bachelor’s degree(学士学位). In some areas, they must earn a ma ster’s degree within a few years to keep their jobs. And keeping the job can be difficult. However, teachers say they are not paid enough for all of the duties and responsibilities they have. Many also take work home with them during the school year and vacations. Many also take classes to increase their knowledge and skills. And many say they do not get enough help from more experienced teachers, or support from school officials.
The N.E.A. says teachers spend an average of more than 400 dollars of their own money each year on classroom materials. Some do it because they might have no other choices. Yet, the union reported a year ago that a majority of teachers said they would return to the profession if they had it all to do again.

62. What does the underlined word“Hispanics”probably refer to?

When I opened my e-mail the other day, a pretty woman named Rachel appeared on my computer screen. She greeted me by name and started talking with great enthusiasm. Every now and then she stopped to smile at me or blow a kiss. She was reading to me an e-mail from my brother. It was pretty cool.
Rachel was there thanks to a new technology called Facemail. Facemail lets you send an e-mail that can read to the receiver on line by an attractive male or female or by a clown(小丑). The software, which is free, can be downloaded at . Facemail faces are lifelike, and they simulate(模仿)emotions based on emotions that you put in your text. Type in: -X, and Rachel blows a kiss. Life FX, the company that develops the Facemail, is sure that there are broad business uses. The reason why e-business is not popular, the company says, is that buying over the Internet lacks the human touch. But what if you went to the Nike website and Michael Jordan greeted you by name, waited on you and personally closed the sale? And it is talking with Whirpool Company about using the technology in a computer screen on a fridge. Then if Mom can’t be home when the kids get back f rom school, she can leave a note with voice and image telling them what there is to eat.
Facemail could get hot fast. Personally, I’m a fan. Facemail is lively and funny at first, but if you select the clown, put a few rude words in an e-mail and add s ome angry emotions, you’ll get a crazy mail.

C. you can put your own emotions in the e-mail as you like

I am a good mother to three children. I have tried never to let my work stand in the way of being a good mother.
I no longer consider myself the center of the universe. I show up. I listen.
I try to laugh. I am a good friend to my husband. I have tried to make my marriage vows(誓约)mean what they say. I am a good friend to my friends, and they to me. Without them, there would be n othing to say to you today. So here’s what I want to tell you today: get a life ––a real life, not a desire for the next promotion, the bigger paycheck, or the larger house.
Get a life in which you are not alone. Find people you love, and who love you. Remember that love is not leisure(休闲)––it is work. Pick up the phone, send an e-mail, write a letter, and realize that life is the best thing and that you have no business taking it for granted.
It is so easy to waste our lives: our days, our hours, and our minutes. It is easier to exist than to live. I learned to live many years ago. Something really, really bad happened to me. It was something that changed my life in ways that, if I had a choice, I would never have changed at all. And what I learned from it is what, today, seems to be the hardest lesson of all.
I learned to love the journey, not the destination. I learned to look at all the good in the world and try to give some of it back because I believed in it, completely and totally. And I tried to do that, in part, by telling others what I had learned. I told them this: read in the backyard with the sun on your face, learn to be happy, and think of life as a deadly illness, because if you do, you will live it with joy and passion, as it ought to be lived.
68. How did the author learn to live?
A. Through social experience.
B. By learning from her friends.
C. Through an unfortunate experience.
D. By learning from her children and husband.
69. By the underlined sentence, the author most probably means that people tend to _________.

70. What’s the author’s attitude tow ard work?

D. Don’t let it affect your real life.

WRITING:
I was woken up by the bell of my clock this morning. Oh, no! It was five to eight.
I was late! I quickly got up and went out of my home.
I saw a taxi coming. I waved my hand and the taxi stopped at once. I got into it. When the taxi began to move, I took out my English book and began to review the lessons. What was worse, the traffic was very heavy. Seeing the long line of the cars, I was very worried. I thought I would be late if I still waited in the taxi, so I paid the driver and got out of the taxi. I ran to school as quickly as I could.
I was just moving one foot into my classroom when the bell rang. I was so lucky!
I managed to get to school just on time.
