1. To get the students to have some knowledge of places of interest in China
2. To help the students to know the basic elements of introducing a place by learning t
he text.
Ⅱ. Ability objectives:
1. To develop the reading skills of prediction, skimming and scanning
2. To get the students to improve their spoken English by helping them to use the basi
c elements of introducing a place.
Language focus and difficult points:
1. To learn some detailed information about the Great Wall, the Shanghai Museum and
Li River
Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Warm-up: Free talk
Lead –in: Complete the dialogue
Step2. Before-listening听前要审题，明要求，做预测
Read the information on P20 and answer the questions
Step3. While-listening
A.听力过程中做好笔记，我们要特别留意约会的人，时间、地点（when and where to meet），甚至约会的内容等,可以简单记录信息再完善答案。
B.Listen and focus on “who” in the dialogues(听力中重点听人名)
C.Listening to it again if necessary.
Step4: Post-listening
A. Remember these useful expressions of making an appointment：
B. Make your own dialogue and fill the blanks in your group, then give us a report.
Step 5: Homework
Make a dialogue using these useful experiences.。
