英语有三个短语意思非常接近，它们是on hand，in hand，athand，都可以翻译成“在手边，在手头”。

在没有那么严格的时候，是可以通用的。

但在很多语境当中，需要区分它们之间的细微差别。

记得有一句英语谚语叫做：Abird in hand is worth two birds in the bush可以翻译为“一鸟在手，胜过双鸟在林”，意思是说“只有得到手的东西才是自己的，没有得到手的，哪怕看起来再好，也不是属于你”。
