If you have a bad habit of losing things, a new device that can be connected to any item that you might lose may be the way to solve your problem. The Tile, a small square linked up to your iPhone or iPad via Bluetooth, lets you see how close you are to the missing item, within a 50-to 150-foot range . If the item goes out of your phone’s 150-foot range, it can still be detected (发现) on other smartphones with the same app.
When you log into the app on your phone, it shows you, with green bars that increase or decrease, how far away you are from the Tile. You can also program it to make a sound when you get close to the Tile. And you can link up your phone with up to ten Tiles. And if your lost item — a dog, for example, or a stolen bike — goes out of your own phone’s 150-foot Bluetooth range, you can set it as a “lost item”. If any of the phones with the Tile app comes within the range of your lost item, a message will be sent to your own phone, reminding you of its position. The Tile app also has the function to remember where it last saw your Tile, so that you can easily find where you left it.
Since the Tiles use Bluetooth rather than GPS, they never run out of battery or need to be charged, and they last for one year before needing to be replaced. The app, which will come into the market this winter, works with iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPad Mini, iPad 3rd and 4th generation, and iPod 5th generation.

One of my wonderful memories is about a Christmas gift. Unlike other gifts, it came without wrap(包装).
On September 11th, 1958, Mum gave birth to Richard. After she brought him home from hospital, she put him in my lap, saying, “I promised you a gift, and here it is. ”What an honor! I turned four a month earlier and none of my friends had such a baby doll of their own. I played with it day and night. I sang to it. I told it stories. I told it over and over how much I loved it!
One morning, however, I found its bed empty. My doll was gone! I cried for it. Mum wept and told me that the poor little thing had been sent to a hospital. It had a fever. For several days, I heard Mum and Dad whispering such words as “hopeless”,“pitiful”,and “dying”, which sounded ominous.
Christmas was coming. “Don't expect any presents this year,” Dad said, pointing at the socks I hung in the living room. “If your baby brother lives, that'll be Christmas enough.” As he spoke, his eyes filled with tears. I'd never seen him cry before.
The phone rang early on Christmas morning. Dad jumped out of bed to answer it.From my bedroom I heard him say, “What? He's all right?” He hung up and shouted upstairs. “The hospital said we can bring Richard home!”
“Thank God!” I heard Mum cry.
From the upstairs window, I watched my parents rush out to the car. I had never seen them so happy. And I was also full of joy. What a wonderful day! My baby doll would be home. I ran downstairs. My socks still hung there flat. But I knew they were not empty; they were filled with love!

The most important day Helen Keller remembered in all her life was the one on which her teacher, Anne Sullivan, came to her. It was three months before she was seven years old.
On the afternoon of that day, Helen knew that something was happening. She went outside and waited at the door of the house. She could feel the sun on her face and she could touch the leaves of the plants. Then she felt someone walking towards her. She thought it was her mother and she went to her and held her close. This was the teacher who had come to teach all things to her and, above all, to love her.
The next morning, the teacher took her into her room and gave her a doll. When Helen was playing with it, Miss. Sullivan slowly spell ed the word “d-o-l-l” onto her hand. Helen learnt a lot of words like this. After the teacher had been with her for several weeks, Helen understood that everything had a name.
One day Helen didn’t understand the difference between “mug” and “water”. She became angry and threw the doll on the floor. In her quiet, dark world she didn’t feel sorry for doing it. Then her teacher took her out into the warm sunshine. They
walked down to the well where someone was drawing water. Her teacher put her hand under th e water and spelled the word “w-a-t-e-r” at the same time in her other hand. Suddenly, Helen felt an understanding. She knew then that “w-a-t-e-r” was the wonderful cool something flowing over her hand. That living word awakened her spirit, gave it light, hope, fun and set it free!

C. The idea of how to describe things and make them feel real.
D. When someone is drawing water, we should go to feel it.
第三节:七选五阅读:(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。
选项中有两项为多余选项Lots of people find it hard to get up in the morning, and put the blame on the alarm clock. In fact, the key to easy morning wake-up lies in resting your body clock.
32 Here’s how to make one.
● 33 In order to make a change, you need to decide why it’s important. Do you want to get up in time to have breakfast with your family, get in some exercise,
or just be better prepared for your day? Once you are clear about your reasons, tell your family or roommates about the change you want to make.
● Rethink mornings. Now that you know why you want to wake up, consider
re-arranging your morning activities. If you want time to have breakfast with your family, save some time the night before by setting out clothes, shoes, and bags. 34 That’s a quarter-hour more you could be sleeping if you bought a coffee maker with
a timer.
● Keep your sleep/wake schedule on weekends. If you’re tired out by Friday night, sleeping in on Saturday could sound wonderful. But compensating on the weekends actually feeds into your sleepiness the following week, a recent study found. 35
● Keep a record and evaluate it weekly. Keep track of your efforts and write down how you feel. After you’ve tried a new method for a week, take a look at your record. 36 If not, take another look at other methods you could try.
A. Get a sleep specialist.
B. Find the right motivation.
C. A better plan for sleep can help.
D. And consider setting a second alarm.
E. If the steps you take are working, keep it up.
F. Stick to your set bedtime and wake-up time, no matter the day.
G. Reconsider the 15 minutes you spend in line at the cafe to get coffee.

The other day I shared knowledge on several aspects of Hindi(印地语)culture with you.Today I'm hoping to paint a better picture of 37 it means to give in Hindi and how their generosity(慷慨)differs from 38 of Western culture.
I was 39 when we learned the word“thank you” doesn't really exist in Hindi. In the mountains,it is 40 used, and people often seemed 41 when we tried to thank them. They 42 either turn their heads,or shake their hands at us.
When we asked our Indian friends why this is so,they 43 that giving and generosity are vital parts of their culture.Giving is more of a 44 of “changing hands”than an act of generosity. In their eyes, the foods they would give us were 45 really“theirs”.They see them as something passed along to them and now they are 46 passing them along to us.
The villagers were eager to 47 their best cucumbers to a passing stranger.

51 ,during a coffee break,a friend told me about how he donated his 52 clothes and shoes-just for the 53 of giving up the possessions he likes most.Giving is 54 Westerners can certainly do.We can practice 55 giving away
the things we value most—not only actual physical possessions, but also perhaps even more 56 ,our time and attention.

They are most smokers. When people smoke, poisonous gases are giving off and the air around us is polluted, With the standard of culture raising, more and more people have come to realize that smoking is not good, and decide to give it up. How to get rid smoking is still a serious problem. I think that this is certainly important to educate all the people to know that smoking is harmful to their health but at the same time, government should make the rule that where there are other people nobody can smoke, or he’ll be punished.

Dear Diana,
Thank you for the lovely day we have with you. It was so kind for you to let us
bring Anne's friend. Gina. Unfortunate, the only problem was the journey home. There
had been a terrible accident on the highway and, for a result, there was a long line
of traffic for at least six mile. Inthe end, we drove to a service station and waited
here unless the road was clear. In the car park Gina nearly got knocked over as car
drove out far too quickly from behind a lorry. They finally dropped Gina off at her
parents' and made our own way to home.。
