示范教案
Period 5 Communication Workshop and Culture Corner Analysis of the teaching materials
The period consists of two parts.The first part is communication workshop,which mainly deals with writing a report about traffic problems in Ludford.In this part function file is not practical and has little to do with writing a report;so it will be deleted.The second part is culture corner,which talks about the history of American cars,which is the extension of the wheels.
Three.dimensional targets
Knowledge and skills
1.To develop students' ability to write a report and know how to use addition and contrast linking words properly。

2.To let students know about the history of American cars by reading.
3.To improve students' communicative ability。

Process and methods
1.To make preparations for writing a report by a list of activities circling the traffic problems in Ludford。

2.During the writing,the outline of a report is highlighted.
3.The composition is also valued according to criteria by cooperation。

4.In Culture Corner scanning and skimming the passage are employed。

Emotion,attitude and value
1.To raise students’ awareness of protecting the environment by discussing the effects cars have brought to people's life and the environment.
2.To activate students' interests in writing。

3.To develop students’ sense of cooperation by working in pairs or in groups。

1.The process­focused approach.Writing in the process。

focused approach includes:examining the topic,discussing the topic,drafting,making revisions,getting response and revising again and sharing and presenting.
2.The top.down approach concentrates on the messages by cooperation and classroom activities。

1.Look at the map of Ludford.Ludford is a village in the English county of Lincolnshire。

Now it has some traffic problems。

Listen and find out what the traffic problems are in Ludford.Ask students to make notes while listening。

Brainstorm the words related to the traffic situation
Adjectives:Positive:cheap,free,frequent,regular,clean,convenient,punctual。

Step 5Culture Corner
1.Ask students to skim the title and the pictures and predict what the passage is about。

Let them practice the reading strategy—predicting.
2.Look at the words with the students and see if students already know some of them in Ex.1 on page 46。

Do not pre.teach any new words but encourage students to guess their meanings as they read the text。

Remind them of referring to the notes while reading。

Students read the text and check their predictions。

本田公司是世界上最大的摩托车生产厂家,汽车产量和规模也名列世界十大汽车厂家之列。

1948年创立,创始人是传奇式人物本田宗一郎。

公司总部在东京。

现在,本田公司已是一个跨国汽车、摩托车生产销售集团.本田的雅阁和思域汽车历年来被用户评为质量最佳和最受欢迎的汽车。

7.日产
日产汽车公司创立于1933年,是日本三大汽车制造商之一,也是第一家开始制造小型Datsun轿车和汽车零件的制造商。

几十年来,日产汽车公司的技术与产品受到全世界消费者的喜爱。

8.标致--雪铁龙
标致汽车公司是世界十大汽车公司之一,法国最大的汽车集团公司。

创立于1890年,创始人是阿尔芒·标致。

1976年标致公司吞并了法国历史悠久的雪铁龙公司,从而成为世界上一家以生产汽车为主,兼营机械加工、运输、金融和服务业的跨国工业集团.标致汽车公司的总部在法国巴黎。

标致汽车的特点是寿命长质量好。

9.菲亚特
世界十大汽车公司之一,菲亚特汽车公司始建于1899年7月意大利都灵市,创始人是乔瓦尼·阿涅利.它是世界上第一个生产微型车的汽车生产厂家。

菲亚特(FIAT)是该公司缩写的译音,FIAT也是该公司产品的商标.菲亚特集团总部设在意大利都灵市。

在意大利它几乎垄断了汽车、拖拉机、工程机械、飞机制造、生物工程和土木工程、能源工程等许多技术生产领域,并在全世界开办了许多分支机构。

10.宝马
宝马是驰名世界的汽车企业,也被认为是高档汽车生产业的先导。

宝马公司创建于1916年,总部设在慕尼黑。

宝马也被译为“巴依尔”.宝马公司的全称是“Bayerische Motor en Werhe AG”,BMW就是这三个单词的首字母缩写。
