教材分析
本模块的主题是篮球。
以了解篮球的基本知识,了解NBA的历史发展为导入,接着引入了两位篮球明星乔丹和张伯伦,讨论篮球运动。
学习目的:帮助学生熟悉篮球运动的起源、发展和现状,了解优秀篮球运动员的风采,认识篮球运动的安全性,讨论篮球运动在国内外的普及度,体会不同国家的篮球文化,从而激发学生更加热爱篮球运动。
是一节阅读课,这个话题与我们的日常生活和学生们感兴趣的了篮球文化有着很大的联系,对此话题的学习与讨论有益于提高学生学习英语的兴趣,通过日常教学使学生们掌握有关篮球的新词汇并使他们了解其它国家的篮球文化背景,为学生以后的阅读和学习做好知识储备。

During his life Dr James Naismith worked as a doctor, taught P.E and wrote several books. While he never thought it very important, Dr Naismith is today best known for one thing. He was the inventor of basketball.
Dr James Naismith was born in Canada in 1861 and his first job was at a special sports school in the USA. One day the school principal told James he was having a problem with the students. Because of heavy snow, the students could not go outside. He told James that they needed a sport the boys could play indoors and gave the teacher two weeks to think of something.
It was on the very last day that James came up with his idea. The “birth of basketball” is said to be on December 21, 1891, when two teams from the school played the first game. It was quite different from the basketball games of today. It had 9 players on each team and footballs were used instead of basketballs. Soon after, the game changed to 5 players on each side, using special “basketballs” through nets.
Although Dr Naismith did not live to see basketball become the worldwide game it is today, in 1936, just three years before his death, basketball became an Olympic sport at the Games in Berlin.

Jordan Makes Basketball Hall of Fame
Last Monday, the former Chicago Bulls great was elected to the 2009 Basketball Hall of Fame class, adding another honor to his long list of accomplishments. With incredible acrobatic (特技的) moves and slam dunks(灌篮), Jordan was a 14-time NBA All-Star, a five-time NBA finals Most Valuable Player and the key figure on the 1992 US Olympic gold medal “Dream” Team.
Jordan retired twice during his 15-year career, and finished with 32,392 points, the third-highest total in NBA history behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone. His career average of 30.12 points per game is the best in the league’s history.
Although his career boasts(拥有)many glories, Jordan said entering the hall was what he never imagined. “I don’t like being up here for the Hall of Fame, because at that time, your basketball career is completely over.” Jordan said during a news conference. “I was hoping this day was coming in 20 more years, or that I’d actually go in when I’m dead and done.”
According to the Chicago Tribune, as Jordan accepted a Hall of Fame Jersey(运动衣), he turned to his former competitors David Robinson and John Stockton, who were also among the class of 2009, and threatened another comeback.
“Every time I see these guys, I want to put my shorts on,” said Jordan, 46, whose age has decreased everything but his desire.
His father once said that passion was what made his son special. From the moment he started playing games, Michael had to win. Once, Jordan traveled everywhere and anywhere to feed that competitive urge.

Jeremy Shu-How Lin is a American professional basketball
player for the Huston Rocket of the NBA. Born in August
23rd, 1988, he likes playing basketball from early age. Lin is
the first Chinese American player in the history of the NBA
but also the first one that graduated from Harvard University.
After graduation, he played for the New York Knicks for one
year and then he joined the Huston Rocket which he became
famous all over the world. During this period, he break many
NBA record. Lin insists on practicing playing basketball and
exercising every day. Because of he believes that only by
working hardly can he succeed. In a word, Jeremy Shu-How
Lin is awesome and we are proud of her
课后反思
这节课,这对我来说既是机遇,又是挑战。
新课改倡导建设性学习,注重科学探究的学习,提倡交流与合作、自主创新学习。
强调根据高中学生的认知特点和学习发展需要,进一步发展学生的基本语言运用能力,着重提高学生用英语获取信息、处理信息和分析、解决问题的能力,逐步培养学生用英语进行思维和表达的能力,为他们进一步学习和发展创造必要的条件。
通过这次的教学有以下几点体会:
1.在教学方法上,采用教师引领、衔接、总结,学生展示为主的方法。
学生在课前通过自主探究、筛选整合所获取的网络和书籍信息,利用语篇、图片等介绍篮球,篮球明星,篮球运动,其他同学学习思考并与陈述人互动。
在教学过程中,注重与学生沟通,让学生消除对英语学习的恐惧感,只有对英语感兴趣,才能保持英语学习的动力并取得好成绩。
刻板的学习,不仅会影响英语学习的效果,适得其反让他们厌恶学习英语。
因此创造宽松、和谐的学习氛围有利于英语学习。
2.在课堂环节方面,用日常生活情境进行导入,学生易于切入主题。
最后引导学生讨论篮球运动在国内外的普及度,体会不同国家的篮球文化,从而激发学生更加热爱篮球运动,增强学生跨文化交际意识。
课堂环节比较环环相扣,循序渐进。
这锻炼了学生英语表达能力和胆量,也在无形中发展了学生运用英语交际的能力,培养他们创新灵活运用英语的习惯。
3.在教学效果方面,本节课基本实现了预期的教学目标,突出了教学重点和难点。
通过本节课的学习,帮助学生熟悉篮球运动的起源、发展和现状,了解优秀篮球运动员的风采,认识篮球运动的安全性,讨论篮球运动在国内外的普及度,体会不同国家的篮球文化,从而激发学生更加热爱篮球运动,热爱生活。
今后要把理论和实践想结合,不断的提高自身素质,多听有经验老师的课,取其精华,并将其运用到自己的教学当中,不断反思自己教学中的不足。
而且作为新课改成功与否的关键性因素,我们教师自身要深刻理解课改精神,把教学与课改目标紧密结合,不断更新观念,在教学中我还要继续思考和践行以学生为主体的教学模式,尝试更为合理高效的英语课堂。
