Teaching Procedures
Step 1 Revision (About 5 minutes)
Revise the conversation by play the recording of the conversation 2d.
Meanwhile, ask “What’s your favorite subject? Why do you like it? When do you have it? Who teaches it?”
Step 2 Grammar focus (About 5 minutes)
T:If you want to know others’ favorite subjects and get the reasons why they like the subjects, you must ask some questions. How do you ask him or her?
S1:What’s your favorite subject? Why do you like it?
S2:What’s her/his favorite subject? Why does she/he like it?
T:Good. Look at the chart on page 51. It will help you to communicate with others.
(Show grammar focus and read.)
Step 3 Practice (About 10 minutes)
1. T:There are some blanks in the conversation on page 51 3a. Please fill in the blanks with what, who or why.
Students try to finish it, then check their answers.
2. Ask the students to make the questions for the answers on page 51,3b. Use the same rules as 3a.
Step 4 Interview (About 8 minutes)
T:Please make an interview in groups. Ask your classmates about his or her favorite subject and the teacher who teaches them. Then complete the chart.
Ss:Ask and answer in groups, use the target languages, then fill in the chart.
T:Ask some students to report their groups, results to the whole class.
Step 5 Section B la (About 5 minutes)
First let students know the meanings of every words and then match the words on the left with their opposites on the right.
Step 6 Listening (About 5 minutes)
1. Let students listen to the words about description in la.
2. Play the recording again, ask the students to circle the classes David talks about on the schedule on page 52,1c.
Step 7 Pair work (About 5 minutes)
T:Ask students to make conversations using the information in the chart. First please read the conversation in the book. Try to read it correctly and fluently. Then talk about your favorite subject.
Step 8 Homework (About 2 minutes)
Make a survey about what subjects your parents learned when they were students.
