Because we can spend time with our friends and classmates during Christmas. When it is snowy,Christmas becomes much more lovely, just like in fairytales. I can imagine I am in a fairytale, the girl who sold the matches is my friend, the ugly duck becoming more and more beautiful andso on.What a beautiful place! So we can also call Christmas “Snowy Lovely Day.”On Christmas Day, shops are red and green. There are so many Christmas cards, Christmas hats, Christmas dolls and many colourful things. So shops look very beautiful. We can give a card or a doll to our friends and say “Merry Christmas.” By the way, I think studying can also become much more interesting.Christmas is coming, it also means a new year will come. Let’s study harder to welcome.圣诞节英语故事篇五Christmas is the biggest festival in the western world, which people all over the Christian countries celebrate. It is on the 25th day of each December.Christians consider it as the birthday of Jesus Christ. But now many customs and habits are beyond religious meaning, The Christmas season begins five or six weeks before the exact holiday. There is always a shopping boom during this period. So it's really a happy season for shop owners.。

圣诞节英语故事:Where Did Santa Claus Come from-

圣诞节英语故事:Where Did Santa Claus Come from-

圣诞节英语故事:Where Did Santa ClausCome from?【我寄语】在圣诞节来临之际,笔者为大家精心整理了有关圣诞节的英语故事《Where Did Santa Claus Come from?》,以供大家参考,祝大家圣诞节快乐!This time of year, many westerners, perhaps Americans more so, are familiar with the popular tune in many a store, “Here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus Lane…” Santa visits children all over the world on Christmas Eve, and more recently, has also added some Chinese children to his list. But where did he come from anyway? Many western children grow up with the mystical notion of the jolly, old, bearded, fat man who defies physics and plunges down the chimney with a sack full of toys, eats cookies left by the tree and merrily leaves presents.Chinese people are now familiar with Santa Claus faces and Christmas trees in restaurants and huge,‘twinkly’ and impressive Christmas trees in the plazas by Shanghai’s Jingan Temple or in front of Beijing’s famous Workers’ Stadium, but the actual history behind Santa Claus is one that remains relatively unknown here in China and admittedly to many westerners as well.In the West, Santa Claus is more than just a symbol for many kids. Millions of western children grow up with the idea that there is a man who watches over them the entire year, noting every mischievous deed or unruly tantrum and could at any moment cross their scribbled name off his famous list.Every child knows severity of this seemingly menial act because Santa’s list decides the fate of their stocking content: presents for good behavior, a lump of coal for bad.In order to assure good rapport with Santa Claus, children take the time to write letters to Santa, some speculate that hundreds of thousands of letters are received every year from 150 countries, to ask for gifts or their hopes. On the act ual evening of Santa’s arrival, traditionally, many offer milk and cookies as a possible incentive for Santa to be more gracious. So where did this idea of a jolly old fat man bringing toys down the chimney originate and how do you explain him to someone unfamiliar? The idea for the man called Kris Kringle from the German Christkindl, Father Christmas, Saint Nick, or just plain Santa Claus may be a bit difficult to explain to children in China, where chimneys are hardly common and the idea of a fat, white and hairy man dressed in red who flies through the sky in a reindeer sled may seem a bit odd.The actual history of Santa Claus is truly dizzying and encircles so many cultures and regional folklore and fables that have developed over centuries, beginning in Europe and flourishing into therosy-cheeked, fat man who comes down the chimney. What some people don’t realize is that the idea of Santa Claus in America evolved from the European tradition a bit and branched in its own direction. The concept of Santa Claus as some think of him today is a far cry from how he started out. Conflictinghistories originate with the idea either of a robed, secret gift giver named Saint Nicholas or the Eastern Roman Empire or Greek persona named Basil of Caesarea. Both were credited as altruistic men who cared for the poor and underprivileged with an unmatched generosity.Saint Nicholas was a real man who lived during in the 2nd century AD in what is now present day Turkey. He was a wealthy man who was known for his benevolence and later made a saint. Most famously, conflicting stories of his generosity cycle around a tale of three Italian daughters. One story goes that a poor man did not have enough money for his daughters’ wedding day. The three girls hung up their stockings by the fireplace to dry, and Saint Nicholas deposited golden coins inside the daughters’ stocking which they had left drying by the fireplace.Another story suggests that the coins were either thrown through the window or down the chimney for the girls’ dowries and in turn, saved them from slavery.Every saint is honored on a day in the calendar, and in Holland, Saint Nicholas’s, or Sint Nikolaas that eventually shortened to “Sinterklaas,” has his specially remembered day on December 5.He is particularly associated with children and gift giving and wears a long, red cape and a bishop’s cap. Germanic folklore combined Saint Nicholas with the Norse god Odin, giving him the characteristic long white beard. In England, Father Christmas or Sir Christmas was a man characterized by his Christmas cheer and first appeared in pre-renaissance era carols, but unlike Saint Nicholas, he was not associated with gift giving.Early writings at the beginning of the 16th century describe Father Christmas, also sporting a long beard, with long stockings with a green fur-lined coat. He was believed to live in the ice and snow in the Lapland Province of Finland. However, it was the Dutch idea of Sinterklaas that was brought to America in the 1700s that many attribute with the image of Santa Claus today. In America, beginning in the 1700s, the Dutch and British colonials’ combined versions of Sinterklaasand Father Christmas created Santa Claus. Over the years, through poetry and literature, Santa gained a considerable amount of weight as well as his famous reindeer and an ability to fly.The famous poem, “Night before Christmas” by Clement Clarke Moore, as well as stories by other authors like L. Frank Baum and Thomas Nast concreted an image of a Santa with reindeer, elves and a wife at the North Pole.During the year, the tale specifies that Santa stays at his workshop with his little elves making toys to deliver on Christmas Eve to all the good children of the world.Needless to say, some hint that it was actually Coca Cola who had the last say in terms of creating the modern Santa. Red and white are Coca cola’s famous trademark colors so it may have been through their advertising during the 1930s that finally solidified Santa’s garb.As for Santa’s behavior, the omniscient Santa Claus who knows who’s “naughty or nice” and punishes misbehavers is actually centuries old, and rooted inthe old and oddly morbid Dutch myth of Sinterklaas’s little helper who comes down the chimney and takes especially wretched children, puts them in sacks and takes them away.Santa’s famous list of names he can add or cross off comes either with the reward of presents or the less drastic threat of a lump of coal in kids’ stockings. This habit is also derived from the Dutch Sinterklaas’s helpers who later became what people today call Santa’s little elves.Modern Santa in America can be seen everywhere, from the local mall to Salvation Army charity collection stands and even Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. People tend to applaud or lament that this is the typical, yet more commercial version that is brought to China. Some argue that the American Santa in China is a positive symbol of a century old figure who has become a holiday reminder to be generous and give as well as to always be on good behavior, while others perceive it as a sterile, cultural import.Whether it’s a motivator for children to behaveor a new integration of western culture, many Chinese, especially children, have warmed to the idea of a round, gift giving American Santa whose cheery disposition and furry red hat has warmed the hearts of the children in China. One thing is for sure, modern day Christmas with its tree, Santa, hats and all, has met modern day China in the metropolitan cities. As the song notes, and seeing how Beijing has embraced the Christmas season and added it to its own holiday list, “Santa Claus is definitely coming to town,”and from the looks of it, he may be here to stay.【我提示】相关“圣诞节”更多英语故事,尽在笔者!。

Nicholas was a Christian leader from Myra (in modern-day Turkey) in the 4th century AD. He was very shy, and wanted to give money to poor people without them knowing about it. It is said that one day, he climbed the roof of a house and dropped a purse of money down the chimney. It landed in the stocking which a girl had put to dry by the fire! This may explain the belief that Father Christmas comes down the chimney and places gifts in children's stockings.圣诞老人源于土耳其历史上的一个真实人物,他的名字叫圣尼古拉斯,他的另一个名字'Santa Claus' 源于荷兰语'Sinterklaas'。

圣诞节的故事英文Once upon a time, in a small town nestled in the snowy mountains, there lived a young girl named Lily. She was filled with excitement as Christmas was just around the corner. The town was bustling with festive decorations, and the air was filled with the sweet scent of gingerbread and hot cocoa.Lily loved Christmas because it was a time when everyone came together to spread joy and happiness. She would spend hours decorating the Christmas tree with her family, and they would sing carols by the fireplace. But most of all, Lily loved the tradition of reading Christmas stories before bed.One snowy evening, as Lily sat by the fire, her grandmother handed her an old, dusty book. "This is a special Christmas story that has been passed down in our family for generations," her grandmother said with a twinkle in her eye. "It is a story of love, kindness, andthe true spirit of Christmas."Lily eagerly opened the book and began to read. The story took her on a magical journey to a faraway land, where a kind-hearted young boy named Nicholas discovered the joy of giving. Nicholas lived in a small village where the harsh winter had brought hardship to the villagers. Many families were struggling to make ends meet, and the children had little hope of receiving any gifts for Christmas.Determined to bring joy to the village, Nicholas secretly collected toys, warm clothes, and food from the villagers who had more than enough. On Christmas Eve, he quietly delivered the gifts to each home, leaving them on the doorsteps without being seen. The next morning, the villagers woke up to find the unexpected gifts, and their hearts were filled with gratitude and joy.As Lily read on, she was filled with warmth and happiness. The story of Nicholas reminded her of the true meaning of Christmas – the joy of giving and the spirit ofkindness. She realized that Christmas was not just about receiving presents, but about spreading love and happiness to those in need.Inspired by the story, Lily decided to follow in Nicholas's footsteps. She gathered her friends and family and together they collected toys, clothes, and food for the less fortunate in their town. On Christmas Eve, they went from house to house, leaving behind gifts and spreading joy to those in need. The next morning, the town was filled with smiles and laughter as the villagers discovered the unexpected gifts. Lily knew that she had made a difference, and her heart was filled with warmth and joy. From that day on, Lily continued to carry on the tradition of giving back to her community every Christmas. She realized that the true magic of Christmas lies in the act of kindness and spreading love to those around her.As the years went by, Lily's Christmas story became alegend in the town, inspiring others to follow in her footsteps. And every Christmas, the town was filled with the spirit of love and generosity, all thanks to a special Christmas story that taught the true meaning of the holiday season.。

The poor creature was shivering from the cold. Emma didn't think twice and scooped it up, wrapping it in her warm scarf.""With the kitten safely in her arms, she noticed a faint glow coming from a nearby park. Curiosity took over, and Emma followed the glow, leading her to a hidden grove filled with beautifully decorated Christmas trees.""At the center of the grove stood a magnificent tree, even more enchanting than the one in our town square. Its branches sparkled with silver and gold, and delicate snowflakes seemed to dance on its shimmering surface.""Emma placed the kitten under the tree and stood back, marveling at its beauty. Suddenly, a chorus of angelic voices filled the air, singing songs of love, hope, and joy. It was truly a magical sight.""As the music faded, Emma noticed a small box near her feet. Inside it was a handwritten note that read: 'Emma, your kindness has brought you here. This tree grants one special wish to those who believe in the magic of Christmas.'""Overwhelmed with emotion, Emma closed her eyes and made her wish. She wished for a loving family who would care for her and a home filled with warmth and happiness.""When Emma opened her eyes, she found herself back on the streets, the kitten still in her arms. To her surprise, a kind-hearted couple had noticed her and the kitten. They invited Emma into their home, where she found the love and warmth she had always longed for.""The couple adopted Emma and gave her a wonderful Christmas, filled with laughter, joy, and gifts. That Christmas became the start of a newchapter in Emma's life, and she never forgot the magical grove and the Christmas tree that made all her dreams come true."Mr. Claus finished his story, and Jack was captivated by the tale of love, hope, and the power of believing in the magic of Christmas. As the Christmas season approached, Jack couldn't help but wonder if he would stumble upon his own magical experience. With renewed hope and a heart filled with joy, he eagerly anticipated the festivities to come.Christmas is a time for stories that touch our hearts and ignite our imaginations. It reminds us to be kind, compassionate, and believe in the power of miracles. Like Jack, may we all find that touch of magic and create beautiful memories during this special season.。

十二月的圣诞节英文版故事

十二月的圣诞节英文版故事以下是五个关于十二月的圣诞节的英文版故事,供您参考:The Origin of ChristmasLong ago, in ancient times, there was a festival called Saturnalia. People would feast and sing songs of praise to Saturn, the god of agriculture. They would also exchange gifts and decorate their homes with evergreen branches to symbolize the promise of spring. Over time, this festival became associated with the birth of Jesus and developed into the modern Christmas celebration. The Christmas TreeThe Christmas tree is a traditional symbol of the holiday season. It is said that the first Christmas tree was decorated by Martin Luther, the famous German reformer. He was walking through the forest on a cold winter's night and was struck by the beauty of the stars shining through the branches of the trees. He decided to bring a tree into his home and decorate it with candles to copy the effect. The Legend of Santa ClausThe legend of Santa Claus begins with Saint Nicholas, a fourth-centurybishop from Turkey. He was known for his generosity and love for children. Legend has it that he secretly gave gold coins to the poor, and one night, he threw three gold coins through an open window into the home of a poor family. The coins landed in the stockings hanging by the fireplace. This tradition of hanging stockings became a part of the modern Christmas celebration. The Importance of Giving GiftsThe tradition of giving gifts at Christmas time is believed to have originated from the practice of gift-giving in ancient times. During the Saturnalia festival, people would exchange gifts as a symbol of goodwill and to show their love for one another. This practice continued even after the festival was associated with the birth of Jesus, and it became an important part of the modern Christmas celebration. The Carols of ChristmasCarolling is a traditional part of the Christmas celebration. The word "carol" comes from the Latin word "carolare," meaning "to sing a song or hymn." Carols were first introduced in England during the Middle Ages, and they soon became a popular way to celebrate the holiday season. Carols are usually religious songs that praise the birth of Jesus and express hope and joy in the coming of a new year.。

圣诞节的故事英文简短

以下是一个简短的圣诞节的故事英文版本:Once upon a time, there was a poor boy named Jesus. He was kind and loving, always helping others. One winter, Jesus' family had no food or money. He was heartbroken, but still found ways to share what little he had with neighbors in need. One cold Christmas Eve, Jesus was wandering the streets when he saw a poor family shivering in a broken-down house. The family had nothing to eat and no heat. Jesus' heart filled with compassion. He entered the house and announced that he was the Messiah. He said that he would bring them warmth, food, and hope. The family was skeptical, but Jesus' kindness and love for them won them over.He gathered the family and said a prayer over the only food they had—a meager stew made from roots and wild herbs. Suddenly, the stew began to boil over and overflow, filling the room with a wonderful aroma. The family gasped in amazement as they saw the stew transform into a rich, hearty meal fit for a king.Jesus then blessed the house, and it filled with warmth. The roof repaired itself, and the windows and doors sealed shut. The family huddled around the fire, filled with gratitude and joy. When morning came, the family awoke to find that their home had been magically transformed into a beautiful mansion. They realized that Jesus was indeed the Messiah sent from God to bring them salvation. The family lived happily ever after, sharing their story of Jesus' love and grace with all who would listen. And thus, the first Christmas was celebrated in their home, marking the birth of Jesus as the Savior of the world.。

英语故事圣诞节英语小故事:圣诞老人和黛西家两姐妹通电话(双语)A Funny Story Of Santa and the Two Sisters圣诞老人和黛西两姐妹Daisy and her thirteen-year-old sister, Mia, had been fighting a great deal during the last year. This often can happen when you combine a strong-willed two-year-old, who is sure she is always right, with a young adolescent.黛西和她13岁的姐姐米雅,经常不是吵架就是打架。

把一个两岁大的倔丫头和13岁的姐姐争对错,吵架斗嘴动手不会是什么新鲜事。

Daisy’s parents, trying to take advantage of her newfound interest in Santa Claus, reminded the two-year-old that Santa was watching and he was unhappy when he saw children argue and fight. This had little impact on little Mia who really didn’t understand.黛西最近对圣诞老人相当感兴趣,黛西的父母便利用这点,经常提醒黛西:“圣诞老人正看着你们呢,他看着小孩子大家会非常的不高兴的。

”这对稀里糊涂的米雅稍稍有点用。

‘I’ll just have to tell Santa about your misbehaviour,’the mother said as she picked up the phone and dialed. Mia’s eyes grew big as her mother asked, ‘Mrs. Claus?’ [it was really Daisy and Mia’s aunt as Santa’s real line was busy] if she could put Santa on the line.黛西的妈妈说:“我要把你们的坏行为告诉圣诞老人”,于是若有其事的拿起电话,还拨了号码。
