The time-space diagram is a plot of signal indications as a function of time for two or more signals. The diagram is scaled with respect to distance, so that one may easily plot vehicle positions as a function of time.

The time-space diagram is a plot of signal indications as a function of time for two or more signals. The diagram is scaled with respect to distance, so that one may easily plot vehicle positions as a function of time. Figure 1 is a time-space diagram for two intersections. Standard conventions are used in the figure: a green signal indication is shown by a blank line, yellow by a shaded line and red by a solid line . In many cases, such diagrams show only effective green and effective red, as shown in Figure1. This figure illustrates the path (trajectory) that a vehicle takes as time passes. At t = t1, the first signal turns green. After some lag, the vehicle starts and moves down the street. It reaches the second intersection at some time ,t = t2. Depending on the indication of that signal, it either continues or stops.

At first there was mobility required for individuals,clans,households,and animals to protect them against,and to escape from,the dangers of natural disasters and tribal aggressions,and in the search for the best places to settle.As tribal groups formed and gradually established their geographical identity,transport was increasingly needed to open up regions for development,to provide access to natural resources,to promote intercommunal trade,and to mobilize territorial defense.When the first nations came into being,transport played a major role in establishing national integrity.交通工具的演变紧密相连的人类在整个地球的历史发展。

In Wikipedia transport and transportation are defined as movement of people, good, or cattle from one place to another. While transportation is the word used as a noun as well as verb in US, British prefer transport to transportation. It is a matter of preference though it would be correct to use transport if you use spelling like colour and canceled, while transportation looks natural if you are from US and use spellings like color and cancelled. Transportation is a word that came into existence when criminals and cattle were used to be carried from one place to another and to differentiate this process from the regular process of transport of people on their vehicles, the word transportation was used. With passage of time though, both words came to be used for all kinds of transport and there is no hard and fast rule to differentiate between them.
