I never dream of buying a house in Hangzhou. 我从没想过在杭州买套房⼦。

2 we were travelling across the Channel. 这⾥的the Channel 特指英吉利海峡。

3 throw [动词]投，掷，抛出 throw的过去式为threw，过去分词为thrown。

throw sth. into sth. 把某物扔进某处 throw sth. to sb. 把某物扔向某⼈，其⽬的在于“传递”，介词to表⽰⾏为⽅向，动机是善意的。

打算如果think和of之间加⼊不同的词，整体意思也会有⼀些区别，如： think much of 重视，赞扬 think better of 改变主意，重新考虑 think little of 轻视 think nothing of 不把……放在⼼⾥，轻视 think well of ⾼度评价 think highly of 对……⾼度评价，尊重 I never thought of encountering my high school classmate at the airport. 我从没想过在机场遇到我的⾼中同学。

文中dreamed of后面的部分都是宾语。

动名词receiving带有自己的宾语 a letter。

(1)在写到过去的事情时，一般过去时和过去进行时可以连用。

过去进行时往往用来表示背景，一般过去时表示发生的动作。

在这句话中，travelling across the Channel是个持续时间较长的背景动作。

(2)the Channel=the English Channel(channel如果大写，并且除了the以外没有其他定语时，则指英吉利海峡)。

(3)with在这里表示“有”、“带有”、“具有”等，指纸条上写的内容。
