While in school, more students are working part-time and near-full-time jobs. At graduation, only 29 percent of seniors have jobs lined up.(4) Pressure to excel often creates stress, and many students are not learning how to effectively handle this stress. Some students drop out or transfer, while an alarming number turn to alcohol. Instead, these students should build their emotional and mental resilience.(5) My colleague Robert A. Rees, a former dean at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a former director at the Institute of HeartMath, and I wrote a new book, “The College De-Stress Handbook: Keeping Cool Under Pressure from the Inside Out,” to put the intimate knowledge of stress and proven methods for handling it in the context of higher education.(6) As we say in the book: “One of the most rewarding times for college students is when they first sense that their gifts, talents and abilities are beginning to blossom. This realization is generally accompanied by increased self-confidence and a keener sense of direction and purpose. Many things become clearer. During such times, students tap into a state that heightens their focus and increases their creativity and productivity.(7) Let me share five facts that I believe every college student should know about stress.(8) First, stress can make smart people do stupid things. Stress causes what brain researchers call“cortical inhibition”. In simple terms, stress hinders a part of the brain responsible for decision-making and reaction time and can adversely affect other mental abilities as well.(9) Second, the human body doesn’t discriminate between a big stressful event and a little one. Any stressful experience will create about 1,400 biochemical events in your body. If any amount of stress is left unchecked, many things can occur within the body, including premature aging, impaired cognitive function and energy drain.(10) Third, stress can become your new pattern. When you regularly experience negative feelings and high amounts of stress, your brain recognizes this as your normal state. This then becomes the new pattern, or baseline for your emotional state.(11) Over time, high stress can become dangerous because you are constantly flooding your system with cortisol-the stress hormone-and adrenaline. When you’re in this flight or fight state it also increases your heart rate, elevates your blood pressure, alters your immune system responses and suppresses the digestive system. It can even suppress the reproductive system and growth processes. The bottom line is that long-term activation of the stress-response puts you at increased risk of numerous health problems, including: depression, sleep problems, memory impairment, obesity, digestive problems and more.(12) Fourth, stress can be controlled. Countless studies demonstrate that people can restructure their emotional state using emotion- refocusing techniques. These techniques help you recognize how you are feeling and shift to a more positive emotional, mental and physical state.(13) One technique involves slowing your thoughts and focusing on your heartbeat, breathing slowly and deeply, and focusing on the positive feeling that you receive.(14) Finally, stress can be lessened if you love what you study. Barbara Frederickson, a leading international authority on the importance of positive emotions, says humans are genetically programmed to seek positive emotions such as love and joy. It is suggested to choose a major or career path you love and enjoy. Otherwise, you could end up fighting against your own biology.44. But it is not the natural way—nor, I venture to think, the best way. The adolescent wants to do things first for only then does he appreciate the problems involved and want to learn more about them.(5) They do these things better in primitive life, for there the adolescent boy joins his father in making canoes and going out fishing or hunting. He is serving his apprenticeship in the actual accomplishments of life. It is not surprising that anthropologists (人类学家) find that the adolescents of primitive communities do not suffer from the same neurotic(神经质的) “difficulties”as those of civilized life. This is not, as some assume, because they are permitted more freedom, but because they are given more natural outlets for their native interests and powers and allowed to grow up freely into a full life of responsibility in the community.(6) In the 19th century this was recognized in the apprenticeship system, which allowed the boy to go out with the master carpenter or thatcher, to engage in the actual work of carpentry or roof-mending, and so to learn his trade. Summary
After watching the two videos , for Google's purchase of drone company , I have a more comprehensive understanding . As my mind , Google's actions are all aimed to get more benefits,market and opportunities .
Google selected drone as a development object is not without reason , according to many studies , it as efficient as a satellite, but much less expensive than it , by use of the drone , google could bring Web access to remote areas of the world which could not only help speed disaster relief or monitor environmental damage but also provide high-resolution aerial images for its Google Earth service.
Gizmodo , the well-known tech blog website said “Google bought a drone company ,which isn’t at all creepy , nope.it’s hard not to worry that , in addition to connecting the world over , this means a lot more potential information at google’s fingertips”,it is obvious that Gizmodo doubt that Google have a very big ambition .
In such a situation like this , the fresh customer’s investment is just like a fatal wind , very dangerous .

Paradise or Hell ?
Recent years , the development of modern technology has made people's life more complex, so people begin to choose to have a simple and easy life without using technology or not.
For those people who would like to live a modern life , they have enough reason . The advancement of modern technology is making their life more comfortable and at the same time less human. To those who enjoy the benefits of technology, there is no better time to be alive than now, but to others life has been increasingly complex and stressful. The issue is whether such new technological machines as computers and the Internet would be our servants forever or eventually could become our masters.
It is well known that all kinds of inventions made possible by technology are designed to be the slaves of human beings, if human beings are not to be slaved by machines. Once upon a time, we were plain people, but that was before we began having relationships with technological systems. By getting involved with computerized machines, we could not help changing the way we live and the way we work, for better or for worse It can be realized that life is more complex because much of modern technology is not born to meet primary human needs, and many "unnecessary" inventions are producing negative effects on a living style that used to be relatively simple. Thus, there is an overwhelming feeling of complexity in the sense that machines act like humans and humans act like machines. Now that "intelligent" machines such as robots are widely applied to take the place of human beings because they are capable of doing many useful jobs, although making many people jobless. Those who cannot work with computers are disadvantaged and therefore helpless while the traditional skills and simple ways of life are fading away, never to return again.
Everything means to that : technology has turned this world into a different one full of wonders, some of them being too good to be true. For example, mobile phone is playing an important role in our social and professional lives, whereas the Internet has connected people at every corner on the planet and beyond. As a consequence, telecommuting may soon become a more common way of working as more people are doing part of their jobs from home. And so what? Actually people are no closer to feeling happy in various respects because such technological developments are destroying many basic values of simple and easy lifestyles. Computers in particular have made life less emotional since the more time people use the Internet, the less time they spend with human beings.
In short , In making people's lives more enjoyable but more complex, technology seems as if sending plenty of blessings from paradise as well as sending plenty of evils from hell.。
