贸易双方的双向共赢也是丝路长期繁荣的重要原因。
丝路贸易不是单向的,而是双向共赢的。
东西方的经济、文化交流是“不断地交流、发展、融合后,再交流、再发展、再融合,从而达到了更高的发展”。
以“佛教的倒流”为例,佛教并非简单地从西向东单向传播,经过中国佛教界的改造和发展后又传回中亚、印度,从而对中亚和印度的佛教作出贡献。
丝路贸易的主体是“转输贸易”,在古代丝绸之路的各个重镇,都有数量不等的胡商或胡人聚落,“胡人尤其是粟特人充当了丝绸之路上的贸易担当者”。
由于转输贸易的需要,丝路上很多重镇是“商胡”入华之路,也是商贸中心。
如新疆的吐鲁番,“一些商胡从西边来到高昌后便不再东行,而是将货物在当地出售,东边来的商人也不再西行到货物的产地去收购商品,而是在高昌购买后,再到其他地方去出售”。
正是因为丝路贸易的这个特点,沿线一些城市成为国际贸易集散中心,如君士坦丁堡、巴格达、敦煌、吐鲁番、兰州等。
丝路贸易的主要承担者,来自中亚的粟特商人成群结队地徙居中国并长期定居,其后裔有的继续经商,有的则在中国入仕,完全融入中华民族大家庭中。

在《性恶》篇中,荀子说:“人之性恶,其善者伪也。
”伪,就是人为。
荀子的人性论虽然与孟子的正好相反,但是他也同意孟子所说,人皆可以为尧舜。
他自己也说过“涂(途)之人可以为禹”,即路上的普通人也可以成为禹。
这种一致,让有些人认为这两位儒家并无根本的不同,这是一个很大的误解。
在孟子看来,人生来就有仁、义、礼、智“四善端”,人只要充分发展这四善端,就能成为圣人。
而荀子的看法是:人生来不仅没有善端,相反地倒是具有恶端。
在《性恶》篇中,荀子一方面认定人生来就有贪图利益和感官享受的欲望,另一方面也肯定人生来又有智性,可以使人成善:“涂之人也,皆有可以知仁、义、法、正之质,皆有可以能仁、义、法、正之具,然则其可以为禹,明矣。

我别出心裁,想把和合文化解读为一种健全的心态。
在我看来,“和合”一词中的“合”,应该是指人的多种精神诉求的集合。
道理很简单,只有在具备两个以上要素的情况下,才能谈得上“舍”;倘若只是单一要素,根本就谈不上“合”了,多种要素凑在一起,有可能发生冲突,也未必就一定发生冲突。
即便发生冲突,也未尝不可以化解。
成功地化解冲突,便进入了“和”的状态。
所谓“和”,应该是指多样性的统一,是指冲突的化解。
显而易见,这种意义上的“和”,有别于“同”,故而孔子力主“和而不同”要想把人的多方面的精神需求统一起来、协调起来,进入“和”的心态,绝非易事,仅靠一种学说,显然也是不可能做到的,必须综合运用多种学说,在传统文化资源中,对于和合心态的养成,儒释道三家却是不可或缺的元素。
三教分别满足中国人精神生活中牟方面的需要,帮助人们养成和合的心态。
儒家的精神趣旨,可以概括成三个字,那就是“拿得起”;用两个字来概括,那就是“有为”;用一个字来概括,那就是“张”。
