it’s fun to…意为“……有意思”。

例如:
It’s fun to play computer game. 玩电脑游戏是很有意思的事。

句中的it是一个“先行词”,在句中做形式主语,其真正的主语是动词不定式to study about China。

英语中,当动词不定式作主语时,常常用it作为形式主语,it在这里没有实际意义,真正的主语动词不定式放在句末,译成汉语时仍然放在前面。

例如:
It’s very difficult to work out the math problem.做出这些数学题很困难。

It’s important to keep our city clean and tidy.保持我们城市的干净和整洁很重要。

【辨析】study与learn
learn指通过学习,练习等方式获得某种知识或技能,侧重于学习成果。

study常指比较深入地学习,多用于较深系统的学习,侧重于学习过程,含有研究,钻研的意思。

a little意为小的。

3.Do you know what time it is?你知道几点了吗?
该句中的what time it is是一个宾语从句,用了陈述句语序而不是疑问句语序。

英语中,当
宾语从句是疑问句时,该疑问句要用陈述句语序。

若疑问词在从句中充当主语,则语序不变。

请注意下列句子的比较:

I don’t know how you go to school.我不知道你怎样去上学的。
