分析：画出函数图象一般分为列表、描点、连线三个步骤，在反比例函数中自变量x ≠0． 我们利用列表、描点、连线，得到了与的图象，那么 （1）它们有什么共同的特征？ （2）它们之间有什么关系呢？ （3）图像为什么是断开的？是什么决定的？ 小组讨论得出：（1）它们都是由两条曲线组成，曲线都无限地接近x、y轴，但不会与x轴、y轴相交，也就是反比例函数的图象是双曲线。
