[ACTION AND USES]
1. Artane is used to treat mild Parkinsonism patients, it has less effective than L-dopa and Amantadine.
less L-dopa that can enter brain is decarboxylated in the CNS to dopamine, where it activates D2receptors to attenuate the symptoms(skeletal rigidity,move bradykinesia)of Parkinsonism. The rest L-dopa is metabolized to dopamine in the periphery and cause side effects. 2. Hepatic coma:
2. It can be take as adjunctive drug for L-dopa therapy or patients who can not sustain L-dopa therapy.
3. It is effective in Parkinsonism produced by antipsychotic Drugs.

Vit B6 is the coenzyme of decarboxylase and enhances the extracerebral metabolism of L-dopa, then increases side effects of dopamine.
Reserpine (利血平) Antipsychotic drug decreases action of L-
dopa
（二 ）Carbidopa benserazide
1. decarboxylase inhibitors 2. No pass B.B.B 3. Decrease peripheral side action of levodopa And increase action
（三）DA agonist
Bromocriptine
activates D2-receptors to attenuate the symptoms(skeletal rigidity,move bradykinesia)of Parkinsonism.
(四）MAO-B inhibitor selegiline （司来吉兰）
arrhythmia can be seen. (2) Long phase 1) dyskinesia Involuntary abnormal movement 2) symptom wave “On-off ”phenomen 3) Mental disorders: Insomnia, anxiety.
（六）Amantadine
Mechanism: Stimulates the release of dopamine from dopaminergic nerve terminals in the nigrostriatum; inhibite reuptake Of DA;DA agonist; anticholine action.
