Unit 3 I’m more outgoing than my sister
Ladies and gentlemen,
Good morning! Thank you for sitting here and share my lesson.
Today I’m going to talk about the second of unit6, Grade8 in Go for it. The title is I’m more outgoing than my sister.
Next, I will share my thoughts about the lesson with you.
Part One Analysis of the lesson
The topic in this unit is to talk about personal taints and compar e people, which so many activities will base on. Today’s lesson is the second period of this unit. In the last lesson, they’ve learnt something about adjectives and comparatives. In the next lesson, we will talk about more in Section B. So students will learn more Grammar points and practice more for further study in today’s lesson, and also they’ll have deep understanding about the language and topic by a series of listening, speaking, reading and writing training. In this way, they can improve their ability on several aspects. Part Two Analysis of students
The students of Grade 8 like to think in images, like to imitate others, eager to act out what they are interested in and desire everything new around them. However, they’re lack of the ability of using languages. Some of them are shy to speak out and act out, but they want others to encourage them. So during the teaching, I will encourage them to take part in different activities, give them more chances to speak and express freely.
I use pictures to attract their attention and use discussion
and cooperation to strengthen their interests in English learning.
Part Three Teaching Aims and Demands
1.Knowledge Objectives
①New V ocabulary: smart, athletic, serious, however, outgoing
②How to change the objective s into comparatives
③Useful expressions(how to use comparative degrees)
He is more athletic than me .(sb.+…adj.er + than+…)
2.Ability Objectives
①Develop students’ listening ability.
②Talk about the differences between two people with comparatives.
③Train students’ reading and speaking ability by pair work and debate.
④Write a short passage according to what they’ve learnt.
3.Process and Method
①Task-ball approaches can help the students to be the principal part in class.
②Situational conversations involve the students in daily life and make the conversations more freely.
③Multimedia can arouse the interests in English learning
4.Emotion, attitude and values
①Concentrate on the people nearby by talking about the differences between the student and his/ her partner.
②Attitude to the friendship
Part Four Teaching Key Points
1.How to change the adjectives into comparatives.

Part Five Teaching Method
In this lesson, I will mainly use Task-Based language Teaching Method. I think if I want to improve my students’ oral English, I must give them more chances to practice. That is “learning by doing, learning by using”. In this case, I designed a lot of tasks according to New English Curriculum. I will lead my students to study and cooperate with each other. Because New English Curriculum points out that the general aim of English teaching in this stage of Junior Education is to cultivate students’comprehensive ability of using English. I think my teaching methods are in line with the requirement of New English Curriculum.
I will also use multi-media. I think, if I want my students to keep interested in English, I must try my best to attract their attention. Multi-media is a very good way to do that.
Part Six Learning Methods
Developing students’ interests in English learning, having confidence in learning, developing their good study habits, useful strategies, self-study and cooperation should be put in the first place in class. So, I try my best to improve their ability of observation, imagination and memory. By teaching, imitation, repetitive reading and free expressions, the students are surely the principal parts in class.
Part Seven Teaching Aids
Multimedia, a calendar, some pictures for evaluating their performances
Part Eight Teaching Procedure
Step1 Warming-up
1.Show a calendar to the students and ask two students to point out their birthdays on it.
2.Make free talks
Who is younger? …。
