Book Report of “Emma”
Jane Austen is one of my favoritenovelists.Herwork, "Prideand Prejudice" I have read a lot oftimes, Ireallylike this book and every roles in this novel, so dose “Emma”.
Think aboutJane Austen, a woman who never married all around her life, full of mystery. Sheis a famous Britishfemalenovelist, her workfocused onthe squireofmarriage andfamilylifeof womeninfemale-specificnuancedobservation andlively wittexttruepicture of theworld aroundherlittle world.
Her fatherservedinthe localrectoryfor forty years, full of knowledge. And her mother came fromrelativelywealthy families, also has certain culturalaccomplishment. Although Austin did not enter formal school, but she is in good condition and reading environment of the family, gave her self-conditions, she cultivated her interest in writing. She began to write something at the age of thirteen, just a girl of thirteen-year-old enough to show her talent in terms of language. And it is no wonder how she can write out great works like these.
Throughout her life, there is not too much works, but famous enough. "Pride and Prejudice" is Jane Austen's masterpiece. And "Emma" is one of the most influential 19th-century classicalnovels, I read it for several times andit impressed me deeply too many times. The two movies also have beenadapted intomovies and TV show many times
“Emma”, wrote by Jane Austen,is a comic novel about the perils of misconstrued romance. The novel was first published in December 1815.As in her other novels,Austen explores the concerns and difficulties of genteel women living in Georgian-Regency England; she also creates a lively comedy of manners' among her characters.
Let’s tell about the story. Heroine Emmaisthe richest man inHighburyMr.Woodhouse's youngest daughter, well-educatedfrom childhoodgoverness, MissTaylor. With her father's big love andcarefreelivingenvironment, soshedeveloped apretentiouscharacter. So Emma Woodhouse, a beautiful, intelligentand wealthygirl, aged 20, but also
anout-and-outfantast.She is interested in all the romanticthings side of her life, but stubbornlythinkingshe wouldneverget into it. She wasgiven a free handtoorphansHarriet Smith, her friend, a pretty young girl but nothing in mind, she was a bastard, work after graduating at the nearby boarding school retention, Emma charge to protect her and directher lovelife again and again. WhenHarriet Smithmistakenly thought that shefell in love withlocal officialsMr.George Knightley, Emmajust only to findthat it is herself who fell inlove with Mr.George Knightley. Althoughit is contrary to her vow that she would not marry with anybody lifelong, but fall in love, she must break her innocent vow. Miss Taylorgave birth to adaughter,Emmabegan to dream ofmakingfamily life. Aftera series of setbacks, Knightley and Emma finally spit mutual Passions; Robert Martin Knightley's help, finally got Harriet love. So at the end of the story, her and her friend both got their happiness.
The most classical sentences in “Emma” is “That is the case with us all, papa. One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other.”May be everyone who has read this book would remember the sentence deeply, But a famous dialogue in “Emma”which touched me deeply is the dialogue between Emma and her best friend Harriet. ”’That you are not yet married, you are so charming.’‘I assure you, I have very little intention of marrying at all.’‘It is so very odd to hear a woman talk like that.’‘I have fortune,I am occupied, and without love, why would I want to change my situation? But, ah, do not worry, Harriet, for I shall be a rich old maid. And it is only poor old maids who invite the world’”. From it, it tells to every girl that you should not to worry about marrying with someone, you should try your best to do yourself, make yourself a better life, and also give us an answer why some girl do not have married at the suitable age. It teaches me a correct sense of love, love maybe is an important part in life, but is not everything in your life, the most important is you, read more books, do exercise, go for a walk, out to see the world, keep a kind-hearted, keep optimistic, be happy, be strong, and you will find ,the world will be better, and nothing can beat you, and you can get whatever you dream if you try your hard.
Maybe the book's influence between readers not as great as "Pride and Prejudice", but it Generating a moving force, it’s about the true marriage.
