【归纳】in order to 意为“为了……”,表
示目的;在用法和意义上相当于so as to结构,但是in order to结构可以用于句首、句中,
而so as to多用于句中。
其否定式分别为:in order not to 和so as not to。
【拓展】in order to和so as to在句中表示目的时,常可以转化成in order that或so that
引导的目的状语从句。
如:
We should work hard in order to / so as to pass the exam.
→ We should work hard in order that / so that
we can pass the exam.为了能通过考试,我们应该努力学习。
He went to town in order to sell the painting.
= He went to town in order that he could sell the painting.
[小试] 翻译下面的句子。

指时间和状态不再延续,常与延续性动词连用。
No more = not… any more
指强调数量,次数不再增加和动作终止的结果,常与名词或瞬间动词连用。

= He didn’t want any more money from his parents.
He doesn't come here any more.( 不用any longer)
---涉及数量或程度时,要用no more. ---替代事物时用not any more.

这两个词都可表示“解决”。
settle的对象通常是某一个争端;
如:settle (an)issue/argument/quarrel;

2. suffer
vi.常与from连用,意为“受……折磨”,“患……病”,其后的名词多表示非常具体的不幸或痛苦,如:suffer from a bad cold / headaches/ heart trouble/ overwork / floods/ droughts/ cold and hunger/ poverty / the loss of memory。
vt.意为“受苦(痛、损失)”,遭受/经历/忍受不愉快的事,即其后常跟抽象名词,如:suffer pain /loss 损失/punishment惩罚/hardship / injustice (不公正) / defeat失败/ insult(侮辱);the cold weather
