1.―This is a range of wines that Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize offers within its own brand ―365‖, which includes simple, everyday products at affordable prices. The cork is a sign of humility, an object of little value, often used as craft material, as a simple and easily manipulated element with which to play and create. The use of cork gives it the air of something simple, typical of an everyday product. The cap is the element that unifies and personalizes the whole range. The motif designed for each label refers to the country of origin.‖

2.―The development of this design is based on a fundamental premise: differentiation. The goal was to design a label which stands out from the competitors. There are three elements which revolve around the design of this Limited Edition: an organic decoration which is repeated as a pattern, a central vintage banner and a monochromatic scheme.‖

Motopart – Is the private label of Motozone –a wide range of quality products, made to ensure the customers long lasting use. 4.―BBQ IT, stems from a desire to make cooking products appeal more to men. BBQ IT marinade kit draws inspiration from rancher‘s branding their cattle and working on their farms, to the drinking and grilling style of most men. The set contains two sauces, a spice rub, and a set of coasters (with drinking and grilling connotations branded on), all housed in a custom built wooden box.‖

5.―The goal of this project is to redesign wine labels for the Napa Valley Collection of JAQK Cellars – a new wine company in the Bay Area, California. JAQK Cellars wines are known for their beautiful and simplistic illustrations of their labels. However, the visual approach for this project focuses more on typography. 7.―Chocolate makers working directly at the source of the cacao farms are still very few and far between. Marou Faiseurs de Chocolat, based in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is one such company who have created the first single origin gourmet bean-to-bar chocolate to come out of Vietnam.

―We wanted the packaging to be strongly linked to Vietnam. We began collecting beautiful ceremonial papers that are still produced by artisanal printers in Cho Lon, the old Chinese quarter of Saigon. These papers are hand printed with intricate traditional lattice patterns. Typically, the patterns are adorned with illustrated fruits, flowers and auspicious animals. Inspired by this illustration style we hand drew our own original chocolate oriented ornaments of cacao pods, flowers and leaves, throwing in some heavenly looking clouds for the tropical monsoon. Our custom lattice pattern keeps a traditional look and creates a framework to incorporate some modernist typography, inspired by the old signage still found around the country.‖

―To highlight the hand-made, artisanal quality of the chocolate itself, we commissioned a local printing shop to use the traditional silk-screen printing techniques to hand print the design in antique gold ink on each wrapper. Conservas Billante was born.‖

9.―Imagine a herd of wild stallions galloping over smooth, white hills, their black coats reflecting the light of the moon. This very image lived inside winemaker Ernesto Catena‘s mind, and kept his primal attachment to land and nature alive during his time as a university student. After years of travel, when Ernesto planted his vineyard in Mendoza, ―Padrillos‖ was born. These intense wines express the pr imordial forces latent in our fertile land, and the wild spirit of Argentina‘s true varietals.‖

10.―Sure you COULD Photoshop coffee grounds into Pegasus form. But wouldn‘t you rather dump some grounds on the table and do it yourself? It took longer, yes, but pushing grounds on paper with an X-acto blade tends to be a much richer experience than pushing pixels with a cursor.

11.‗The A Range is a simple furniture based on two interlocking letter As shapes. The range includes a stool, side table, coat stand.
Made from accredited birch plywood and available in white and grey, the A Stool and A Table come in a simple box with a carry-away handle. This is the first flat-pack, carry away furniture sold at John Lewis stores.‖

12.―For this conceptual project, students were to chose a pre-existing and well-known brand and develop
a line of skin care products. The key factor in deciding upon a brand was that it was not currently affiliated with a skin care line of products. The challenge was then to maintain equity within the brand and translate that into skin care.

Gordy‘s handcrafted pickles and preserves are a labor of love. Each thoughtfully designed recipe uses fresh, local produce & responsibly cultivated spices.‖

This packaging line boldly attempts to use the product itself different tastes, and does not make sense forming interesting combination with weather images. The changing weather referred to as touched the senses of taste, the spicy taste of mustard make us cry like a rain; spicy flavors makes you stamping like thundering; fragrant curry, such as the beautiful moonlit night, sweet caramel taste is charming sunny; taste mixed with different levels of integration, the taste buds also will comply with the incredible weather to start cross-sensory journey.‖

15.―R Design was approached by Tesco to redesign their entire range of standard and standard plus fresh fish that covered over 50 lines.

The idea was to emulate the buzz and atmosphere of a bustling fishmongers/fish market. The labels were designed to reflect the hand crafted feel of a chalkboard. All the typography was hand drawn and paired with illustrations that highlight the fish type. On the standard plus lines the illustrations change from the fish to that of the flavour or ingredient that comes with the product. e.g. King Prawns with Chilli & Coriander.

With the ACL painted bottle print process we like to keep designs simple and bold so one can pick up the entire message and feel of the product on a single glance and to cut through clutter on the store shelves.‖

―One of our assignments was to redesign the packaging for De Cecco, a famous brand of pasta. The brand takes pride in their high quality pasta and Italian heritage. Because De Cecco is so well known and familiar to many, I decided to keep the original logo to offset the very modern redesign. A large window was chosen to emphasize the product while the rustic box and sticker label mimic the homemade packaging of fresh pasta.‖

18.Back in late fall, architect and farmer Michael Rahal approached us with a branding opportunity. He founded Rahal Farms, which is located in the historic farming village of Fernvale, Tennessee. His farm practices holistic, sustainable land stewardship, compassionate animal husbandry, and educational community outreach in order to produce healthful, delicious and ecologically sound food. The goal of our branding was to suggest artful, healthy, earthy farm-fresh goodness while keeping the happy animals at the forefront. With his hens producing 400 eggs a day, we scrambled (no pun intended) to create an egg carton label so he could start selling his delicious farm-fresh eggs. He was looking for something that would really set his eggs apart on the store shelves and elevate his product above all others in the same category. We achieved this by choosing a colored carton with a wrap-around label that featured custom typography and illustration in complementary colors. The final label was printed on French Speckletone Paper in Cream Cordtone.‖
