Unit 9 Do you want to go to a movie?

教学内容:1. 与电影类别相关的词汇(action movie, thriller, comedy…);与表达观
点、感受相关的形容词(fun, great, scary,…);
2. 动词want, 连词and, but 的用法;
3. Do you want to go to a movie? I want to see an action movie. Does he
want to go to a movies? What kind of movies do you like? I think…
教学目标
(一)语言知识与语言技能
1.学习并掌握本课时表示电影类型的词汇、短语和常用表达法及日常交际用语,从而掌握有关谈论电影的英语知识。
形成描述电影、与人交往、表达喜好、制定计划的技能。
如:学会表达自己对电影的喜好,并能学会询问别人的喜好,学会运用want 来制定计划。
2.培养和提高学生的听力与口语表达能力,引导学生运用所学知识解决问题,完成教师设计的各项任务。
(二)情感态度与价值观
1.学会师生、生生的合作与交流,培养集体合作的精神。
2.学会倾听他人观点意见,了解关心学习同伴
3.体验用英语进行交际的乐趣,激发主动参与学习的热情。

教学步骤:
Period I
Step One
Show the students a MTV from the movie The Lion King then have the students discuss following topics:
1. Do you want to go to a movie?
2. What kind of movies do you like?
3. What movies have you seen lately?
4. Which movie star do you like best?
Step Two
Show the students several movie posters and teach them the names of different types of movies.
documentary, thriller, action movie, comedy, cartoon and the plural forms of the new words.
Then let students watch 5 fragments of different types of movies and when they watch each of the movies I will have them talk about the types of the movies and how they feel after watching them.
当电影海报展示在学生眼前时,“电影”这一信息就被轻而易举地传达给了学生,我们也就能自然而然地把学生引入了一个有关电影的语言环境。
并且以真实的电影和电影海报引入,进行词汇教学,词不离句,情景交融,直观、准确、易接受并牢记。
Step Three Listening
1. Get the students to look at the picture in 1a and ask What do the boy and the girl talk about?
2. Students listen to their conversation and circle the kinds of movies in activity 1a.
3. Check the answers.
4. Students read the conversation after the tape. And then ask some pairs to act it out.
教师设问What do the boy and the girl talk about?能帮助学生在听前了解对话的主题,并能使其在听的过程中更有效地锁定目标信息。
学生仿读听力材料的过程也是学生熟悉语言结构与对话的过程,这就为下一步的语言活动做好了热身。
Step Fou r Pairwork
1. Students work in pairs to make conversations as the model below, supposing they are the boy and the girl in the picture. Encourage the students to show different opinions.
A: Do you like movies?
B: Yes, I do.
A: What kind of movies do you like?
B: Thrillers.
A: Why do you want to see thrillers?
B: Because they are exciting.
2. Get some pairs show their conversations in class.
第一个对话活动中,给出对话的大体格式,既是保证学生在对话过程中高频度地使用目标语,又是从学生的实际学习能力出发,恰当地设置活动难度,使学生能在语言学习中获得成功感,提高学习的激情。
在我们对话中增加了Why do you want to see a / an …? Because…这一问答,其目的在于培养与训练学生的自主语言表达能力,鼓励学生创造性地使用语言。
然而,在语言的初学阶段,学生虽然掌握了一定的词汇与句式,但他们的组词成句能力还是薄弱的,需要我们提供一定的导引。
所以,我们给出了许多的例句,让学生参考、仿照,以此帮助学生提高其语言综合运用能力。
Step 5
Let students look at the chart and ask them to talk about the movies that Edward likes or dislikes using the words which have been offered.
The target language students may use:
He really likes… He thinks … ;
often go to see…with… ; ( and ; but ; also; learn about )
这个活动只提供给学生几个关键词,目的在于,让学生完全自主地运用目
标语,并结合旧学的语言结构展开语言活动,强调对学生语用能力的培养。
Step 6
Say, the following chart is the survey about our classmates, please give a report.
Step 7
Ask the students to make a survey and say, four students as a group, one student acts as a reporter and asks three other students about the kinds of movies they like and the reasons. The reporter has to write down the relevant information in the chart and he/she has to give a report at the end.
通过四人小组的活动,让学生熟练地掌握本课时所学的内容,提高学生的合作意识,增强学生的团结协作精神。
该活动的设计,能减少学生独立完成较大型英语任务的畏难心理障碍,在设计中,通过在段中留出空格的方式,为学生搭建“脚手架”,使层次较低的学生也能在一个有帮助的平台上,与其他同学一起,顺利完成该项任务。
同时,从说过渡到写,进一步强化学生对电影类型词汇的掌握,整合所学语句,形成语篇,达到词-句-篇的训练效果。
Step8. Homework(课后任务)
1.以小组为单位,上网查询其他电影类型的名称:如tragedy, science fiction等,了解其它有关电影的语言,看哪组获取的类型多,信息多。
2.了解家人喜欢和不喜欢哪些电影,并记录下来,写一个汇报,改日在班上进行交流。
3.寻找一些电影广告(为下节课准备)

教学探讨与反思
学生在使用名词单、复数时出现的错误一般有这几种形式:一是运用名词的场合一律用名词的单数,如:I like banana.,I have pen.等;二是分辨不清可数与不可数名词,出现一刀切现象,如:Do you like salads?,She likes to eat an ice
cream.;三是掌握才住名词复数形式的变化,出现一律加“’s”现象,如:I live documentaries.,I don’t like comedies.等。
培养学生正确使用名词单、复数的习惯和意识,要让学生从理论上掌握,但更重要的是要在平时的操练和口语活动中有耐心地进行引导与点拨。
