Last week, we hosted some foreign students and took them to experience Chinese Tea Culture, which proved to be rewarding and meaningful.
Early Saturday morning, we assembled at tea room in our school. As volunteer, I made a brief introduction about tea’s development in China and showed them various kinds of teapots on the wall. Our foreign friends listened attentively and nodded from time to time.
After entering the room, we gathered around a table, where displayed a set of tea tools. I showed them how to use the tea tools as well as explained the custom of tea-tasting. Taking pictures and applauding their hands, they couldn’t wait to have a try. Then came the big moment. Under the guidance of our volunteers, our foreign friends tried pouring the tea by themselves. Seeing their great performance, we gave them thumbs-up and felt a sense of achievement. We drank tea and chatted happily. The atmosphere was charged with pleasure.
Time flew quickly and before we realized, it was time to finish the day. At the end of the event, we presented them with tea as souvenirs and had a photo taken in memory of the whole day. We all took great pride in what we had done. What a memorable experience!

The popularity of Chinese tea culture has increased considerably over the past decade among foreigners. Last week, we let some foreign students experience Chinese tea culture and they fell in love with it.
On Monday morning, I took about ten foreign students to our elaborately-adorned tea room. We walked along the exhibition hall in a leisurely pace as I gave them a vivid introduction about the brief history of Chinese tea culture as well as how tea is produced. Seeing them marvel in amazement, a surge of pride overwhelmed me.
The next day, we gathered in the tea room again. With tea pots and cups in hand, I sat in front of a wooden table and showed them how to enjoy tea in a Chinese way. Learning that tea drinking is not only Chinese lifestyle, but also a part of
Chinese culture and a sophisticated art, they couldn’t help taking loads of pictures.
On Friday evening, it’s finally time for them to have some hands-on experiences. They sat around the table while my partner and I stood by their sides to give them specific guidance. At first, they couldn’t do it right. After several failed attempts, they were finally able to perform the procedures in a professional way. A broad smile spread across my face as I watched them immerse themselves in Chinese tea culture.
Time seemed to fly by. Soon it was time to bid farewells. Each of them received a small bow of Chinese tea as souvenirs. With boxes in hand, we gathered around the table in front of a camera and posed for a photo.
This experience will never fade away from my mind. On one hand, I forged new friendships with many foreign students; on the other hand, I became a cultural spreader.

Last week, my friend and I served as narrator to guide the foreign students and experience Chinese tea culture together, which turned out to be a meaningful and rewarding experience for all of us.
The instant we stepped in the Tea Room of our school, they were amazed by the sight of the teapots and the tea leaves. My friends and I introduced the names of the tea and briefed them on the history of tea culture. Everyone listened attentively. Then I showed them the whole process of making a cup of tea myself. With the beautiful tea leaves unfolding before their eyes, some of them gasped in owe, while others kept filming every detail of my work. Swelling with pride, I did my utmost to finish the process delicately. When I told them they could have a try themselves, everyone cheered in delight. My friend and I give detailed instructions on the moves during the process. Seeing one of them still struggling with the teapot, I gave him a hand without hesitation. Finally, every one of them managed to make his own cup of tea. When they finally tasted the flavor of tea, smile spread across their faces.
Time flew. Then came the time to put an end of it. We took a picture with tea boxes to capture the special moment.
I always love my culture. But it was not until I had the experience did I get a better sense of Chinese culture, which brought me a level of pride I had never experienced before. So rewarding as it is ,I will never let it fade away.

Last week, my partner and I hosted a group of foreign students and led them to experience our tea culture. It also turned to be a meaningful experience for ourselves.
On receiving the foreign students, I showed them our exhibits, including processed tea and tea equipments. They showed great interest and asked lots of questions. While answering them, I really felt a sense of pride, for I had managed to broaden their horizon as well as to spread our traditional culture.
Then I showed them the way to use the tea equipment correctly. I told them the key of tea culture is to feel inner peace while making tea and tasting it. Our foreign friends were amazed by my introduction. They couldn’t help taking photos and praising.
After my introduction, it came the step of practice. My partner and I helped foreign students to try to make tea by themselves. Actually, I can tell some of them just regarded tea as a kind of soup. We just corrected their gesture and tolerated their false understanding. We thought it’s the key that the inner peace and divergence in understanding isn’t unacceptable.
Time flies. Soon the activity reached the end. We took a photo altogether with our tea equipment. All of us were happy and there was a broad smile on everyone’s face. I felt a sense of pride to spread our culture. It really turned out to be a meaningful experience.
