First of all, let's understand what nearsightedness is and why it's important to prevent it. Nearsightedness, also known as myopia, is a common vision problem where people can see nearby objects clearly, but struggle to see objects that are far away. This condition occurs when the eyeball is too long or the cornea is too curved, causing light to focus in front of the retina instead of directly on it. If left unmanaged, nearsightedness can lead to serious eye problems and even blindness in extreme cases. Therefore, it is crucial to take preventive measures from a young age to reduce the risk of nearsightedness.
