Just as sailors once navigated uncharted waters in search of new lands, so toodo we navigate the vast sea of human knowledge, driven byan insatiable curiosity to uncover truths yet unknown.Moreover, "望远" embodies the spirit of aspiration and ambition. It is about setting our sights on distant goals, striving for excellence, and refusing to be confined by the limitations of the present. Whether it is pursuing alifelong dream, overcoming obstacles, or striving for personal growth, "望远" inspires us to reach beyond our grasp and aspire to greatness.In the realm of literature and art, "望远" finds expression in works that transport us to far-off lands,both real and imaginary. The horizon of my understanding to the accounting professions have been widely broadened thanks to all these learning experience. Accountants, in my point of view today, can be regarded as the experts in dealing with financial information; generally, their responsibilities are maintaining information database, preparing financial reports, and providing services to the clients as audit, consultant or advicer with their professional knowedge. Besides, given that they occupy a position of relative privilege in the society, they are also accountable for the safeguard of the public interest in despite of decisions to be made.2.There are a number of contextual factors which can have crucial effects on the accountant professional; among which regulatory changes, technology development and globalization play signifiant roles, and these three factors will be illustrated as following. First of all, the varied regulatory requirements can be a heavy load which the accountants are burdened with, in that the accountants are required to take pains to adjust themselves to the updated legislations and accounting standards. Secondly, the advancement of technology can have a distinct influence on the employment market of accountants; for instance, some accounting software can be more competitive in comparison with the real accountants in terms of certain documentary-related jobs, that’s maybe why the accountants’functions have been largely shifted from bookkeeping to exercising their professional judgement. Thirdly, as for the globalization, it is the factor that brings not only opportunities but also challenges to the accountants; while the globalization can offer more business as well as employment opportunities to accountants, there’s no denying that facing the differences across jurisdictions which can not be ignored, accountants are confronted with new challenges.3.It is required for the accountants to interact with people from different backgrouds under all kinds of circumstances; for instance, the clients encountered can vary from a small scale businees not larger than a restaurant to a listed company. Besides, it’s likely that some external stakeholders be encoutered, including certain departments like ATO, regulatory body like ASIC, or some professional accounting organization like CPAAU. For those who re specialized as management accountants, it’s indispensable to report to the board officers of the company or other senior manager in order to ensure the companies’ normal operation.4.Being audits, consultants and advicer, accountants contribute a lot to the society. To begin with, the independent auditors who are legally required to be recruited by all the companies, can ensure that the companies’ operation is always appropriate and the companies’ financial reporting is never inaccurate; in this way, as audits, accountants play roles of safeguards who protect the public interest. Moreover, since the public have more faith in the professional than in the companies’boards, accountants’attitude is vital to the public confidence to the capital market, therefore playing roles of advices and consultants, accountants manage to facilitate the capital market by showing their trustworthiness.5.It’s natural that the clients who have paid high professional fees expect to receive from the accountants the guarantee of all legal compliance, documentary obligations like ABNs registration, on-time tax lodgemnt as well as advises on the entities’performance. On the other hand, as employees, accountants usually look forward to obtaining the opportunity of gaining professional growth and experience, according to their professional nature; in this regard, the employers are expected to continuous on-job mentoring or some exchange employment program.6.Being a qulified accountant demands lots of skills and attributes, such as accounting-related knowledge, communication skill, personal branding skill, etc. It is evident that theaccounting-related knowledge is necessary for being an accountant; in order to be recognized as capable publicly, the qualification granted by some accounting bodies like CA, CPAAU or CIMA is helpful and essential. In addition, communication skill is required to aquire, as interaction and communication are inevitable under almost all circumstances : introducing portfolios to senior managers, negotiating with the clients, or even cooperating with the other employees in the same team. Last but not least, in regard to personal branding, it can be referred to the practice of the individaul’s brand concerning the career, which is critical for broadening employment opportunities and career advancement.7.As far as I am concerned, the conflict of interest can be one of the major issues encountered by professional accountants. Rememberring the lesson we have learnt from the case of Enron whose fall was significantly attibuted to the lack of independence of accountants in Arthur Anderson; we accountants, are supposed to try our best to avoid the conflict of interest, otherwise, it may be lead to a catastrophic consiquence to the community just like what happened to Enron years before.。
