摘要:PURPOSE:To obtain a high-level, stable device by producing a magnetic field which operates on the arc of a HID lamp (high-pressure vapor discharge lamp), detecting the position shift of the arc, and producing a magnetic field with its output signal and correcting the arc position. CONSTITUTION:The light output of the HID lamp 1 is converged and image- formed on the entrance slit of a spectrophotometer 6. Time fluctuations of the light output of the lamp 1 which affect the intensity of the incident light is corrected by a method of turning on the lamp 1 by a constant current circuit, etc. For fluctuations based upon the variation of the lamp 1 which affect the intensity of the incident light, a magnetic field produced by supplying a current to a coil 4 provided nearby the lamp 1 displaces the arm with its Lorentz force. Then the arc is fixed at a desired position under the control of an arc position detector 2 and a magnetic field control circuit 3. Thus, the arc suppresses the position shift of fluctuations, etc., due to a snake or convection in the discharge tube and, therefore, suppresses the fluctuations of the light output.
