Chinese car maers have narrowed the quality gap with the ir foreign rivals in the world’s largest vehicle maret to the smallest level in seven years, according to research.
But the improvements have not been enough to see an obvious drop in the maret share for local car companies this year, raising questions about their ability to be global competitors.
The annual quality survey of China’s car maret by J.D. Power, a Californian maret research company, tracs the number of mechanical and design problems reported per 100 vehicles by more than 21,000 Chinese drivers.

Power’s operations. “By 2018 the domestic and the global brands will be equal in terms of quality.”
Despite the steady improvement in quality, local vehicle maers have been performing poorly this year. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, domestic brand’s share of the maret for cars—not including SUVs—has fallen from about 25 percent to 20 percent.

We produce 500 billion of plastic bags in a year worldwide and they are thrown away polluting oceans, illing wildlife and getting dumped in landfills where they tae up to 1,000 years to decompose. Researchers have been unsuccessfully looing for a solution.
The 16-year-old Canadian high school student, Daniel Burd, from Waterloo Collegiate Institute, has-discovered a way to mae plastic bags degrade(降解) in as few as 3 months, a finding that won him first prie at the Canada Wide Science Fair, a $10,000 prie, a $20,000 scholarship, and a chance to revolutionie a major environmental issue.
Burd’s strategy was simple Since plastic does eventually degrade, it must be eaten by microorganisms(微生物).If those microorganisms could be identified, we could put them to wor eating the plastic much faster than under normal conditions.
With this goal in mind, he grounded plastic bags into a powder and concocted(调制)a solution of household chemicals, yeast(酵母) and tap water to encourage microbes growth. Then he added the plastic powder and let the microbes wor their magic for 3 months. Finally, he
tested the resulting bacterial culture on plastic bags, eposing one plastic sample to dead bacteria as a control.Sure enough, the plastic eposed(暴露)to the live bacteria was 17% lighter than the control after si wees.
The inputs are cheap, maintaining the required temperature taes little energy because microbes produce heat as they wor, and the only outputs are water and tiny levels of carbon dioide.
“Almost every wee I have to do chores and when I open the closet door, I have piles of plastic bags falling on top of me.One day, I got tired of it and I wanted to now what other people are doing with these plastic bags. The answer not much.So I decided to do something myself.” Said Daniel Burd.

Dear Mr. Smith,
I’m very much glad to hear that your international shopping center will build non-smoing supermaret. In my opinion, it is a good idea to do so, for it can not only help the smoers to smoe less, and it can also do good to other customers’ health. Since you had given up
selling cigarettes, the customers who doesn’t lie smoing are sure to support you. In addition, smoe in the shopping center may cause fire, which is very dangerous to both your possession and the safety of the customers. In a word, the non-smoing supermaret will not effect your business. To the contrary, it will help you attract more customers who want to eep health.
Best wishes!
