My Big Dream of Being a Surveying Engineer
Hi, my name is Timmy and I'm 10 years old. I know what you're thinking - "Timmy, you're just a kid, how can you possibly know what you want to be when you grow up?" I know, I know, it's not the most common dream for a little kid. Most of my friends want to be firefighters, police officers, or even astronauts. But ever since I went on that family trip to the Grand Canyon a couple of years ago, I've been fascinated by maps, measuring things, and understanding the world around us.
You should have seen the look on my parents' faces when I told them I wanted to be a surveying engineer. They were like, "A what? Are you sure you don't mean something else?" But I stuck to my guns. I had learned all about surveying engineers and what they do, and I was convinced that's the path for me.
So, what exactly is a surveying engineer? Well, let me break it down for you. Imagine you're building a huge skyscraper or a long bridge – you need people to measure the land, figure out
the best place to put the building, and make sure everything is level and structurally sound. That's where surveying engineers come in!

Just imagine it – little Timmy, all grown up, leading a team of surveyors as we map out the location for a brand-new city or a massive bridge spanning a mighty river. I'll be the one calling the shots, making sure every measurement is accurate and every calculation is double-checked.
And when that building or bridge is finally constructed, I'll be able to look at it with pride, knowing that my hard work and dedication as a surveying engineer played a crucial role in making it a reality.
