于是，人类自身的矛盾产生了，并且一步步加剧，仅次于人与自然的矛盾。
人类在征服自然的过程中，必须解决好内部的矛盾，必须克服自身的种种弱点，只有这样，才能在与自然的较量中获得成功。
亚哈船长剿灭白鲸的过程包括了以上种种的因素。

自然是丰厚和大度的，它是人类的依靠，是人类赖以生存的宝库，是人类的衣食父母，失去了它，人类将不复存在。
