第十章英语童谣、歌曲教学的意义和作用

第一节英语童谣、歌曲教学的意义和作用

人类在漫长的历史过程中,随着语言的产生和发展形成了一个精细而复杂的发声器官,不仅能说话,而且会唱歌。唱歌是人类自然的愿望,是人类表达自己喜、怒、哀、乐各种复杂感情的有力手段。唱歌、念童谣在儿童生活中也同样有着极重要的意义,也是儿童表达自己喜悦、兴奋、激动的一种方法,是他们显露自己能力的心理状态的反映。在每个人的童年记忆中,总对一些充满情趣、合辙押韵、朗朗上口的歌谣记忆犹新,诸如:“小鸭、小鸡”、“丢手绢”、“读书郎”、“小画家”等,这些童谣和儿歌天真活泼,节奏感强,积极向上,富有教育性和知识性,正合少年儿童的心理与口味。可以说,童谣和儿歌是孩子的亲密伙伴,有孩子的地方总能听见那欢乐、柔嫩、清脆的天真童声。

童谣是符合儿童年龄特点的、有韵脚、有意境、有节奏、充满童趣、朗朗上口的一种说唱形式。儿童歌曲比童谣更具音乐性。说歌谣、唱歌曲对儿童语言发展所起的作用是不可低估的。音乐和节奏是儿童学习语言的重要组成部分。一般来说,歌词容易记牢。一首好的歌词往往是一首好的儿歌,尤其是少儿歌曲的歌词更像是一首上口的童谣,儿童在学唱歌的过程中,最先学会的是歌词。也就是说,儿童在学习歌曲的同时就学习了一首好的儿歌,无形中词汇量、艺术性语言就能有所增加。同样,没有曲调但节奏鲜明的童谣也是训练儿童语言节奏感的绝佳材料。

在小学英语教学中,使用英文童谣和歌曲教授英语,符合小学生的年龄特点,有利于他们学习英语。音乐与语言二者都有句子、韵、重音和重复。曲调中有些强弱快慢的变化就是来自于人们的语言,经常说唱英文童谣、儿歌能使小学生对英语的重音、节奏、句子的结构等加强掌握与理解,如善于辨别英语的发音,掌握其重音、节奏、语句、语调等,因为唱歌时要求吐字清楚,这对培养小学生正确发音有很大帮助。学习英文童谣和歌曲除了能帮助儿童学习英语语音和节奏,也可以学习、巩固语法与词汇,而最重要的是能提高英语学习的兴趣。让学生在拍拍手,说说童谣,唱唱歌,做做游戏中不知不觉地打好学习英语的基础。

第二节英语教学中童谣、歌曲的选择

童谣是符合儿童年龄特点的、有韵脚、有意境、有节奏、充满童趣、朗朗上口的一种说唱形式。儿童歌曲比童谣更具音乐性。两种形式都有词,且符合儿童的年龄特征,故作为一种辅助教学手段在小学英语教学中占有重要的地位。拍拍手,说说童谣,唱唱歌,做做游戏,在不知不觉中也打好了学习英语的基础。应该说,念英文童谣、唱英文歌是学习英语行之有效的好办法。那么如何选择儿童感兴趣的、富有教育意义的、适合儿童说唱的、对英语教学有一定辅助作用的英文童谣和歌曲呢?

一、内容应有趣并为小学生所理解

小学生在小学虽说有了一定的母语基础,完成了母语的掌握过程,但对英文还处于低幼儿阶段。用英文理解事物的能力在低年级几乎没有,到中高年级也还不高。因此,英文童谣或歌曲使用的单词应生动形象,歌词在语言上不宜太深,最好浅显易懂,要能听得清楚,为小学生所理解。否则他们只会机械地发出声音,并不知其含意,也就难以引起相应的心理活动。

英文童谣或歌曲的内容,一般应选择讲述动植物、自然现象、日常用语、问候、道歉、交通工具、身体的各个部分、节日等,这些都是儿童日常能接触到的、能随时使用的感兴趣的内容。他们对一些押韵的句子、象声词,甚至一些无意义的音节(如:wah,wah,

wah,moo,moo,click,click)也感兴趣。

另外,歌词内容的选择不但要注意不同年龄儿童的兴趣爱好、理解能力和语言发展程度等,更要注意如何在他们已有的水平的基础上,稍向前发展一步。若歌词中适当地有几个新词汇,这对儿童英语的学习也能起促进作用。如在初开始学英语时,老师应根据所讲授的内容选择“Hello”,“HowDoYouDo”,“TenLittle

Babies”等歌曲,先用说唱(chant)的形式,再用演唱(sing)形式来学习。到了中高阶段可选择“MaryHadaLittleLame”,“Head,

Shoulders,KneesandToes”等歌曲。

二、歌词内容能用动作表现

在念童谣、唱儿歌时,童谣和歌曲都有一定的韵律和节奏,适合一边唱一边用动作表现出歌词的含意。这种边唱边动作有助于他们记忆歌词,促进动作的协调,增强节奏感,培养他们表演交际的能力。因此,为小学生选择的英文童谣和歌曲最好是能用动作可表达的。至于如何表达,除了老师作某些必要的示范,启发外,可以让学生自己动脑筋,想想怎样做动作,这对发展学生的想象力,培养其创造力都有一定的好处。比如,教数字歌曲《十个小婴儿》(“TenLittleBabies”)时,可以让学生和老师一起用手势来表演,老师在讲台前边唱边做,学生在座位上举起手模仿老师的动作并说唱,和老师一起完成教唱,气氛相当活跃,学生兴趣极其浓厚,效果极佳。

三、应多选用歌词为第一人称的童谣、歌曲

第一人称的童谣、歌曲多半是以自己为主体来讲述某些内容,小学生对这样的词曲会感到亲切,好像就是自己在讲些或做些什么事,感情表达上也显得自然、真实。如桌子和椅子(“TableandChair”)这首歌里唱到“Ihaveatableinmylittlebedroom.Mylittletablehasalittlechair.”歌曲内容简单,形象生动,容易理解,再配上相应的表演动作,小学生很感兴趣。

四、歌词要有重复,有发展的余地

歌词适当的重复,会使小学生感到熟悉,也便于记忆。重复可以是一首歌词中有几处相同的地方。如:“Maryhadalittlelamb,littlelamb,littlelamb.Maryhadalittlelamb,itsfleecewaswhiteassnow.”这首歌中littlelamb就重复了好几次。重复也可表现在一首有几段歌词的歌曲,各段歌词间都有相同的地方。

如“Bingo”一歌中,各段除了每一段用一次拍手代替“Bingo”中的一个字母外,其余歌词和曲调完全一样。如第一、第二段歌词为:

这样的歌,不仅有重复,而且还可以根据学生经验和生活常识不断增加新的段数(如apig...piggoesgriffy,griffy...;adog...,doggoesbow-wow,bow-woo...),有发展的余地,教师可启发学生自己想出要增添的新词,这样既激发了学生的积极性,又能培养创造性。

五、根据教材自编自填说唱词和歌词

比如:在学习了句型“What’sthis?”以后,可选择所学句型编成有节奏的说唱形式,让学生按一定的音乐节奏说唱:

六、其他方面的选择

小学英语童谣、歌曲不宜太长,应比较简单、短小,旋律动听,节奏明快,词曲结合自然,易于上口,内容与形式统一,有一定的艺术性。选择时要避免内容单一化,应广泛挑选各种题材、性质的歌曲,贴近生活,适合交际,能促进认知的发展。

第三节 英文童谣、歌曲的教法

同样的教材内容,有的老师教起来学生感兴趣,能理解,学得快,记得牢,唱得好,而有的老师教起来极其平淡,甚至效果较差。

小学英语的教学目的是初步培养学生对英语的感性认识,培养学生的语感,在讲、练、说、唱、玩、画中完成英语的学习过程。现在大多数小学英语教材中都有说唱(chant)和

歌唱两种形式来辅助教学。下面简单介绍一下两种形式在小学英语教学中的具体教法,采用时,必须结合所学内容和学生的实际水平来举一反三,灵活运用,并创造性地予以发展。一、事先欣赏

有些自编、自填的童谣和歌曲在未正式教说、教唱之前,可以在一节课结束前先说唱给学生听,让学生在欣赏的过程中,脑子里有个初步的印象。有的童谣和歌曲已录有磁带,可以在一节课结

束前、课间或课外活动时放给学生听。

二、解释歌词

在正式教说、教唱之前,歌词中总会有个别新词或难懂的句子,因此,必要的解释还是不可少的。解释歌词这一环节应进行得生动、灵活、简短有艺术性,而不是枯燥、呆板、冗长、机械地照本宣科式地讲解,或让学生一遍又一遍地反复背诵。

三、示范说、唱

小学生善于模仿,教师的示范说、唱应有正确的发音,清楚的吐字,准确的语调、旋律和节奏,适当的表情、动作等。说唱主要用于一些自编的童谣和未谱曲的童谣,这种形式要求用抑扬顿挫、富

有节奏、生动的语调把歌词说唱出来,也可用于先说后唱、在能吟调的基础上学唱的儿歌。歌唱用于根据己有曲调自填词的歌曲或已有原歌曲的演唱。示范说、唱,原则上由教师承担,也可用录音、录像代替。

四、教说、教唱

1.运用动作教说、唱把童谣、歌曲的内容用体态动作或表情表现出来,边说边唱边做动作。

五、让学生唱,展示成果。

例如:下面这首歌谣用于小学高年级教一般现在时、现在正在进行时和复习几个动词短语、介词短语。

1.复习的形式

复习的形式可有跟唱、模仿唱、齐唱、领唱、部分轮唱、对唱、表演唱、说唱等,可灵活选用。

2.复习的时间

复习的时间一般应安排在课前、课开始时、课结束前或课外活动进行。

3.复习的方法

·边唱边表演。

·边用教具边唱歌。

·用游戏的方法。

·用接唱的方法。

·扮演歌曲中的角色,增加有节奏的说白。

·边说、边唱边用手拍节奏。
