找工作或继续深造的英语作文观点一
找工作或继续深造的英语作文观点一English:In my opinion, deciding between finding a job and continuing further studies is a highly personal choice that depends on an individual's goals, aspirations, and circumstances. Both options have their own unique benefits and challenges. Finding a job immediately after completing one's education provides practical work experience, the opportunity to start earning a salary, and a chance to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world setting. On the other hand, pursuing further studies can deepen one's understanding of a specific field, open up opportunities for advanced career paths, and enhance one's skills and knowledge in a specialized area. Ultimately, the decision should be based on an individual's long-term career goals, financial situation, personal interests, and willingness to invest time and effort into either option. It's important to weigh the pros and cons of each choice carefully and consider how they align with one's ambitions and aspirations.中文翻译:在我看来,决定是找工作还是继续深造是一个高度个人化的选择,取决于个人的目标、愿望和情况。

大学生找工作或继续深造的英语作文
大学生找工作或继续深造的英语作文University life is a crucial period for many young adults as they approach the crossroads of deciding their future path. As they complete their undergraduate studies, university students face the pivotal decision of whether to enter the workforce and begin their careers or to continue their academic pursuits by pursuing further education. This choice holds profound implications for their personal and professional development and can significantly impact their future trajectories. One of the primary factors that influence this decision is the job market and the availability of employment opportunities. In recent years, the job market has become increasingly competitive, with employers seeking candidates with specialized skills and relevant experience. This has led many university graduates to consider continuing their education to enhance their qualifications and increase their chances of securing desirable positions. By pursuing a postgraduate degree, such as a master's or a doctorate, students can develop advanced expertise in their field of study, making them more attractive to potential employers. Moreover, advanced degrees can open up new career paths and opportunities that may not be readily accessible with only an undergraduate degree. For example, a master's degree in business administration (MBA) can equip students with the managerial skills and strategic thinking required for leadership roles in the corporate world. Similarly, a doctoral degree in a specific discipline can pave the way for academic or research-oriented careers, such as becoming a university professor or a specialized researcher. On the other hand, some university students may choose to prioritize entering the job market immediately after graduation. This decision is often driven by a desire to start earning a steady income, gain practical work experience, and establish their professional careers. The allure of financial independence and the opportunity to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills in a real-world setting can be highly compelling for many students. Moreover, the job market can offer valuable learning opportunities and the chance to develop essential skills that may not be readily available in an academic setting. By working in various industries and organizations, students can gain a deeper understanding of their preferred career paths, refine their skills, and potentially identify areas for further specialization or professional development.Additionally, the financial considerations cannot be overlooked. Pursuing further education often comes with the additional costs of tuition, living expenses, and potentially foregone income during the study period. For some students, the prospect of immediately earning a steady paycheck and becoming financially independent may outweigh the potential long-term benefits of a postgraduate degree. It is essential to note that the decision to find a job or continue pursuing further education is not solely binary; there are hybrid approaches that students may consider. Some universities offer programs that allow students to work while simultaneously pursuing a postgraduate degree, such as part-time or distance learning options. This can provide a balance between gaining practical experience and advancing one's academic qualifications.Furthermore, in some cases, students may choose to work for a few years after graduation and then return to academia to further their studies. This approach can be beneficial as it allows them to gain practical experience, identify their specific areas of interest, and then tailor their postgraduate studies accordingly.Ultimately, the decision to find a job or continue pursuing further education is a highly personal one, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Each student must carefully weigh the pros and cons ofboth options, considering their personal goals, career aspirations, financial circumstances, and the state of the job market. By thoroughly examining these factors, university students can make an informed decision that aligns with their individual needs and long-term objectives.。
选择全职工作的原因英语作文
选择全职工作的原因英语作文Choosing a full-time job is a significant decision that can have a profound impact on one's personal and professional life. For many individuals, the decision to pursue a full-time career path is driven by a variety of factors, each of which holds its own unique importance. In this essay, we will explore the primary reasons why individuals often opt for a full-time job over other employment options.Financial Stability and SecurityOne of the most compelling reasons for choosing a full-time job is the promise of financial stability and security. A full-time position typically offers a steady paycheck, which can provide a sense of certainty and predictability in an individual's financial planning. This stability can be particularly appealing for those who are starting out in their careers or have financial obligations such as mortgage payments, bills, or supporting a family. The consistent income from a full-time job can help individuals to better manage their expenses, save for the future, and plan for long-term goals such as retirement or major purchases. Moreover, full-time employment often comes with a range of benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off. These benefits can provide a safety net and peace of mind, knowing that there are safeguards in place to protect against unexpected financial challenges or medical emergencies. This sense of security can be especially valuable in today's uncertain economic climate, where job stability is not always guaranteed.Career Development and AdvancementAnother key factor in the decision to pursue a full-time job is the potential for career development and advancement. Full-time positions often offer more structured career paths, with opportunities for training, mentorship, and promotions. This can be particularly beneficial for individuals who are eager to build their skills, gain experience, and progress within a particular industry or organization. In a full-time role, employees may have access to a wider range of professional development resources, such as training programs, workshops, or tuition reimbursement. These opportunities can help individuals to expand their knowledge, acquire new skills, and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices. This can, in turn, lead to increased job satisfaction, higher earning potential, and greater career mobility over time.Furthermore, full-time employment often provides a more structured and supportive work environment, with clear expectations, feedback, and opportunities for growth. This can be particularly valuable for those who are early in their careers or transitioning to a new field, as the guidance and mentorship of experienced colleagues can be instrumental in shaping their professional development.Work-Life Balance and StabilityWhile financial security and career advancement are significant factors, the pursuit of work-life balance and stability can also play a crucial role in the decision to choose a full-time job. Full-time employment often offers a more predictable and structured schedule, with set working hours and the potential for benefits such as paid time off, sick leave, and holiday pay. This sense of stability and predictability can be particularly appealing for individuals who value the ability to plan their personal and family commitments with greater certainty. Full-time work can provide a reliable routine and a clear separation between work and personal life, which can be beneficial for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Moreover, the consistent income and benefits associated with full-time employment can enable individuals to better manage their personal and financial responsibilities, such as rent, mortgagepayments, or childcare. This can lead to a greater sense of security and control over one's life, which can have a positive impact on overall well-being and quality of life.It is important to note, however, that the concept of work-life balance can be highly subjective and may vary depending on individual preferences and circumstances. Some individuals may thrive in more flexible or entrepreneurial work environments, while others may find greater fulfillment and stability in a full-time role.Societal and Cultural ExpectationsIn addition to the practical and personal considerations, societal and cultural expectations can also play a role in the decision to choose a full-time job. In many societies, full-time employment is often viewed as the "traditional" or "expected" path for individuals, particularly after completing their education or training. This societal pressure can stem from a variety of factors, such as the perceived prestige or status associated with full-time work, the expectation of financial independence and self-sufficiency, or the belief that a full-time job provides a more stable and secure future. These cultural norms and expectations can influence an individual's decision-making process, even if they may not fully align with their personal preferences or circumstances. It is important to recognize, however, that these societal expectations are not universal and can vary widely across different cultures and communities. Individuals should strive to make decisions that are true to their own values, goals, and aspirations, rather than succumbing to external pressures or expectations.ConclusionIn conclusion, the decision to choose a full-time job is a complex and multifaceted one, driven by a range of factors including financial stability, career development, work-life balance, and societal expectations. While each individual's circumstances and priorities may differ, the appeal of a full-time position often lies in the promise of greater security, predictability, and opportunities for growth and advancement.Ultimately, the choice between a full-time job and other employment options should be carefully considered, taking into account one's personal values, long-term goals, and the specific benefits and drawbacks of each option. By weighing these factors, individuals can make an informed decision that aligns with their unique needs and aspirations, and ultimately leads to a fulfilling and rewarding career path.。

英语六级听力真题长对话篇1Conversation OneM: So how long have you been a Market Research Consultant?W: Well, I started straight after finishing university.M: Did you study market research?W: Yeah, and it really helped me to get into the industry, but I have to say that it's more important to get experience in different types of market research to find out exactly what you're interested in.M: So what are you interested in?W: Well, at the moment, I specialize in quantitative advertising research, which means that I do two types of projects. Trackers, which are ongoing projects that look at trends or customer satisfaction over a long period of time. The only problem with trackers is that it takes up a lot of your time. But you do build up a good relationship with the client. I also do a couple of ad-hoc jobs which are much shorter projects.M: What exactly do you mean by ad-hoc jobs?W: It's basically when companies need quick answers to their questions about their consumers' habits. They just ask for one questionnaire to be sent out for example, so the time you spend on an ad-hoc project tends to be fairly short.M: Which do you prefer, trackers or ad-hoc?W: I like doing both and in fact I need to do both at the sametime to keep me from going crazy. I need the variety.M: Can you just explain what process you go through with a new client?W: Well, together we decide on the methodology and the objectives of the research. I then design a questionnaire. Once the interviewers have been briefed, I send the client a schedule and then they get back to me with deadlines. Once the final charts and tables are ready, I have to check them and organize a presentation.M: Hmm, one last question, what do you like and dislike about your job?W: As I said, variety is important and as for what I don't like, it has to be the checking of charts and tables.Questions 1 to 4 are based on the conversation you have just heard.Q1: What position does the woman hold in the company?Q2: What does the woman specialize in at the moment?Q3: What does the woman say about trackers?Q4: What does the woman dislike about her job?Conversation TwoW: Hello, I'm here with Frederick. Now Fred, you went to university in Canada?M: Yeah, that's right.W: OK, and you have very strong views about universities in Canada. Could you please explain?M: Well, we don't have private universities in Canada. They’re all public. All the universities are owned by the government, so there is the Ministry of Education in charge of creating the curriculum for the universities and so there is not much room for flexibility. Since it's a government operatedinstitution, things don't move very fast. If you want something to be done, then their staff do not have so much incentive to help you because he's a worker for the government. So I don't think it's very efficient. However, there are certain advantages of public universities, such as the fees being free. You don't have to pay for your education. But the system isn't efficient, and it does not work that well.W: Yeah, I can see your point, but in the United States we have many private universities, and I think they are large bureaucracies also. Maybe people don't act that much differently, because it’s the same thing working for a private university. They get paid for their job. I don’t know if they're that much more motivated to help people. Also, we have a problem in the United States that usually only wealthy kids go to the best schools and it's kind of a problem actually.M: I agree with you. I think it's a problem because you're not giving equal access to education to everybody. It’s no t easy, but having only public universities also might not be the best solution. Perhaps we can learn from Japan where they have a system of private and public universities. Now, in Japan, public universities are considered to be the best.W: Right. It's the exact opposite in the United States.M: So, as you see, it's very hard to say which one is better.W: Right, a good point.Questions 5 to 8 are based on the conversation you have just heard.Q5: What does the woman want Frederick to talk about?Q6: What does the man say about the curriculum in Canadian universities?Q7: On what point do the speakers agree?Q8: What point does the man make at the end of the conversation?英语六级听力真题长对话篇2Lecture 1The negative impacts of natural disasters can be seen everywhere. In just the past few weeks, the world has witnessed the destructive powers of earthquakes in Indonesia, typhoons in the Philippines, and the destructive sea waves that struck Samoa and neighboring islands.A study by the Center for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters finds that, between 1980 and 2007, nearly 8,400 natural disasters killed more than two-million people. These catastrophic events caused more than $1.5 trillion in economic losses.U.N. weather expert Geoffrey Love says that is the bad news. "Over the last 50 years, economic losses have increased by a factor of 50. That sounds pretty terrible, but the loss of life has decreased by a factor of 10 simply because we are getting better at warning people. We are making a difference. Extreme events, however, will continue to occur. But, the message is that they may not be disasters."Love, who is director of Weather and Disaster Risk Reduction at the World Meteorological Organization, says most of the deaths and economic losses were caused by weather, climate, or water-related extremes. These include droughts, floods, windstorms, strong tropical winds and wildfires. He says extreme events will continue. But, he says extreme events become disasters only when people fail to prepare for them."Many of the remedies are well-known. From a planning perspective, it is pretty simple. Build better buildings. Don’tbuild where the hazards will destroy them. From an early-warning perspective, make sure the warnings go right down to the community level. Build community action plans. ”The World Meteorological Organization points to Cuba and Bangladesh as examples of countries that have successfully reduced the loss of life caused by natural disasters by taking preventive action. It says tropical cyclones formerly claimed dozens, if not hundreds of lives, each year, in Cuba. But, the development of an early-warning system has reversed that trend. In 2008, Cuba was hit by five successive hurricanes, but only seven people were killed.Bangladesh also has achieved substantial results. Major storm surges in 1970 and 1991 caused the deaths of about 440,000 people. Through careful preparation, the death toll from a super tropical storm in November 2007 was less than 3,500.Q16. What is the talk mainly about?Q17. How can we stop extreme events from turning into events?Q18. What does the example of Cuba serve to show?Lecture 2As U.S. banks recovered with the help of American government and the American taxpayers, president Obama held meetings with top bank execut ives, telling them it’s time to return the favor. “The way I see it are banks now having a greater obligation to the goal of a wide recovery,” he said. But the president may be giving the financial sector too much credit. “It was in a free fall, and it was a very scary period.” Economist Martin Neil Baily said. After the failure of Lehman Brothers, many of the world’s largest banks feared the worst as the collapse ofthe housing bubble exposed in investments in risky loans.Although he says the worst is just over, Bailey says the banking crisis is not. More than 130 US banks failed in 2009. He predicts high failure rates for smaller, regional banks in 2010 as commercial real estate loans come due."So there may actually be a worsening of credit availability to small and medium sized businesses in the next year or so."Analysts say the biggest problem is high unemployment, which weakens demand and makes banks reluctant to lend. But US Bankcorp chief Richard Davis sees the situation differently."We're probably more optimistic than the experts might be.With that in mind, we're putting everything we can, lending is the coal to our engine, so we want to make more loans. We have to find a way to qualify more people and not put ourselves at risk."While some economists predict continued recovery in the future, Baily says the only certainty is that banks are unlikely to make the same mistakes - twice. "You know, forecasting's become a very hazardous business so I don't want to commit myself too much. I don't think we know exactly what's going to happen but it's certainly possible that we could get very slow growth over the next year or two.”If the economy starts to shrink again, Baily says it would make a strong case for a second stimulus -- something the Obama administration hopes will not be necessary.Q19. What dose president Obama hope the banks will do?Q20. What is Martin Neil Baily’s prediction about the financial situation in the future?Q21. What does U.S. Bankcorp chief Richard Davis say about its future operation?Q22. What does Martin Neil Baily think of a second stimulus to the economy?英语六级听力真题长对话篇3Section ADirections: In this section, you will hear two long conversations. Popular U.S. Jobs: Top and Bottom 10Ever wondered which professions have the highest levels of employment and which are so obscure (or awesome) that very few people work in them? Luckily the Labour Department is here to answer those pressing questions.Among the jobs that employed greater than 700,000 were occupations such as retail salespersons, waiters and waitresses and elementary school teachers, according to the report on occupational employment and wages for 2009, released Friday. The 40 jobs on the list account for 46% of total employment. The 10 largest make up 20% of total employment.'Most of the largest occupations were relatively low paying. Thirty of the 40 occupations...had average wages below the U.S. mean of $20.90 per hour or $43,460 annually,' the Labor Department notes. Cashiers and combined food preparation and serving workers were among the largest professions and paid the lowest wages. The lowest-employment professions were a much more diverse mix. Among them: historians, motorboat operators, commercial divers and radio operators. These fields, which included 4,000 or fewer workers, made up less than 0.1% of U.S. employment.Their salaries ran the gamut as well. Nineteen of the 42 smallest occupations earned above-average salaries (such as the commercial divers), whereas 17 had below-average wages. Six jobs were about on target with the average. Here's the Labor Department's full list of the biggest - and teeniest - occupations.
Jobless Middle-Class New Y orkers Struggle To Get ByHigh unemployment is spreading in New York City beyond the poorest neighbourhoods to once-secure middle-class enclaves, where some residents are falling behind on rent and mortgage payments.Among the hardest-hit spots are the northern Bronx and south-eastern Queens. Both areas have seen unemployment double since the third quarter of 2007, according to the Fiscal Policy Institute, a nonpartisan think tank.'The recovery in the labour market is a long way off and it will be a long time coming to middle-income neighbourhood s’,' said James Parrott, the institute's deputy director and chief economist.Close to half of all New Yorkers work for small and medium-size businesses, Mr. Parrot said, 'and they don't readily recover in a downturn.'New York City has shed 144,000 jobs since August 2008, leaving it with an unemployment rate of 10% as of November. The Bronx, with its big public-housing complexes, lower education levels and large unskilled population, long has had the highest unemployment rate in the city.In the third quarter, the Bronx's jobless rate was 13%, the institute said. But in the northernmost stretch, populated by middle- and working-class families, bordering Westchester County suburbs, unemployment was 12.2% in the third quarter, more than double the rate of two years earlier, the institute found.Residents, city officials and economists said there have been more foreclosure cases this year in that northern part of the Bronx, as well as an increase in small-business closings, illegal renting of bedrooms and basements, and court petitions by landlords seeking back rent.Restaurant employee Gregory Ramsden, a 46-year-old renter in the Norwood neighbourhood of the north Bronx, has been looking for full-time work since June 2008. He has been teaching classes in English as a second language, but hasn't had enough money to pay the rent on his apartment since July. His landlord has begun eviction proceedings.'I'd take anything. I'd take a job cleaning toilets,' said Mr. Ramsden, who, as a full-time waiter, used to make $50,000 a year, the area's median income. 'I believe I'm running out of options.'On the south-eastern strip of Queens, where generations of families have entered the middle class by buying starter homes, unemployment has doubled in the past two years to 12.2%.In 2008, there were more than 1,800 foreclosure cases filed in the area, and 1,589 filed as of the third quarter of this year, according to the Furman Center for Real Estate and Urban Policy at New York University.Residents said vacant homes in the area -- known largely as Jamaica -- have attracted illegal dumping, more rodents and break-ins. 'You've got squatters going in,' said Yvonne Reddick, district manager of a community board for the area. The Centre for an Urban Future, a nonpartisan think tank, has found that food, housing and utility costs for New Yorkers rose significantly between 2002 and 2007 while wages in boroughs other than Manhattan stagnated.'The path into the middle class has gotten a lot harder for New Yorkers,' said Jonathan Bowles, director of the think tank.纽约中产阶层难过失业关纽约市的高失业率正在从最贫困的社区向一度安全的中产阶级住宅区中扩散,这里的一些居民已开始拖欠租金和按揭贷款。
