Please explain your reasons and details in your response.锛堝垎鏁帮細20.00锛?/div>__________________________________________________________________________________________ 姝g‘绛旀锛?topic As far as I'm concerned, making notes in class means wasting of time, and what you should do is listening intently to the lecturer. reason 1 Firstly, making notes is undoubtedly time consuming. The only thing it tests is your writing speed rather than your intellectual capability. In fact. we learn because we want to stimulate our minds, not to mechanically copy from what others have written down. reason 2 Secondly, learning is a course of interaction, you learn something from the teachers, and only by thinking can it become your own knowledge. So our attention should be directed towards the lecturers, and discuss with them when we meet Some questions, and the class time should be spent on understanding the materials rather than writing everything down without any thought. In the latter way, you actually don't acquire anything from the class. This is just the difference between a good student, and a great student. conclusion So I insist spend little time making notes in class.)瑙f瀽锛?/div>鍥涖€亄{B}}Speaking Question 3{{/B}}(鎬婚鏁帮細1锛屽垎鏁帮細20.00)3.A Proposal from a StudentThe most essential dorm accessories may be the kitchen supplies. Dining halls are only open during certain hours of the day, which can be inconvenient when students need a late-afternoon snack or something to fuel an all-night study session. Therefore, a student has suggested adding a kitchen to the student dormitory, so that students would be able to cookregular meals and practice their cooking. The students could then prepare healthy food instead of relying on snacks or canned foods. There is ample room in a durra kitchen and the space should be used for right purpose. Now hear a conversation about the same topic. The man expresses his opinion of the proposal about adding kitchen to the dormitory, State his opinion and explain the reasons he gives for holding that opinion.锛堝垎鏁帮細20.00锛?/div>__________________________________________________________________________________________ 姝g‘绛旀锛?opinion The man does not agree to add a kitchen to the student dormitory. reason 1 One reason is that the place of dorm room is limited if students want to have some activities after class, such as watching TV or holding theme parties, so there would be no more room left for a kitchen in the dormitory. reason 2 The other reason is that as students they are so busy with their class assignments, they don't have any time to cook at all. Besides, some of them don't have the basic cooking skills. So learning to cook from a recipe book seems rather a waste of time.)瑙f瀽锛歔鍚姏鍘熸枃] W: Hi, look. I think the school will be right if they follow this proposal. M: You really think so? I don't like it. Look, in the dorm room students should do all the activities except cooking, because recreational activities like holding parties, watching TV or films and etc can bring students invariably creative, inclusive and amazing fun, especially after having spent a whole day on their studies. Therefore, I believe the school should keep kitchens out of dormitories and leave more space for entertainment. W: That is true. In addition to full time study during the day, we all should have some fun and slow down. M: That's right! Our schedules are always fully packed with assignments, seminars, exams, or even part-time jobs. So making ourselves regular meals every day is something impossible for us. Also, some students don't know how to cook, and learning to cook from a recipe book will definitely consume a lot of time they would otherwise spend on their studies. W: That's right. Many students even never consider cooking in their dorm room. Eating in school's cafeteria is easy and can save them a lot of time. M: Absolutely! 浜斻€亄{B}}Speaking Question 4{{/B}}(鎬婚鏁帮細1锛屽垎鏁帮細20.00)4.Animal CommunicationCommunication is a process by which meaning is shared among living creatures. Animals communicate by combining multiple signals, like movements or sounds, in order to convey meaning. Though animal species cannot speak like human beings, they rely on a combination of movements or actions to make their intentions known. Examples of these include elaborate mating rituals, territorial dances, and various calls. By analyzing the bizarre patterns of animal behaviors, we can endeavor to understand them better. Now hear a talk on the same subject.Using examples from the reading and the lecture, explain how animals communicate by combining movements or actions.锛堝垎鏁帮細20.00锛?/div>__________________________________________________________________________________________ 姝g‘绛旀锛?topic (reading) The reading is on the topic of animal communication. Though animals cannot speak a language as we do, they have their own methods to express meanings, that's by a mixture of certain movements and sounds. The professor sets how his own dog acts in two different situations as an example. example 1 First, if some unpleasant noises like atruck or a lawnmower annoys him, he will immediately run toward the noise, with his ears standing up. example 2 However, when he wants to play with another dog, you'll also see his ears bristling. But in such case he also wags his tail. What he wants to means is that he is happy. So the meaning of the same motion changes with different environments owing to combining of various signals in communication..)瑙f瀽锛歔鍚姏鍘熸枃] M: Animal communication is simple, but sometimes one action can have two different meanings depending on the context. That's why it's important to read behaviors as a combination of signals. Let me give you an example. We all know that dogs are very expressive animals. In fact, dogs put many motions together to convey a feeling. Take my own dog as an example. Under two different circumstances he will exhibit the same behaviors. Only by taking his actions in combination can you understand what he is trying to express. My dog hates loud noises so when the garbage truck comes by our house or if our neighbors mow their lawns, his ears will stand up. In addition, he will run toward the noise and start barking. This means that he is agitated or angry. Now you might think that his ears standing up means he's angry., But his ears also stand up when he sees the neighbor's dog. This isn't because he is angry or irritated, but because he is happy. How can I tell? Well, he gets very excited and wags his tail vigorously when he wants to play with another dog. So this is an example of why we should view communication as a combination of behaviors. Sometimes, the same movements can mean two different things in two different contexts.鍏€亄{B}}Speaking Question 5{{/B}}(鎬婚鏁帮細1锛屽垎鏁帮細20.00)5.The speaking discusses two possible solutions to the man's problem. Describe the problem and the two solutions. Then state which of the two solutions you prefer and explain why.锛堝垎鏁帮細20.00锛?/div>__________________________________________________________________________________________ 姝g‘绛旀锛?problem The man is in a trouble of publishing his article in the school newspaper. He had planned to attach some photos to the newspaper. But soon he found that these pictures were not developed properly and he could do nothing on it. solutions The woman gives him two possible options. He can publish the article without any pictures attached to the newspaper or take the place of such photos with new ones. best solution For me, the latter one may be better. reasons Because newspapers with more colorful and meaningful images will undoubtedly interest readers. So removing the pictures from the article would make it seem so sterile. Instead, the man can replace them with some new photos since there is still one day left before the deadline.)瑙f瀽锛歔鍚姏鍘熸枃] W: Hello, dear. I haven't seen you since our seminar last week. How is everything going? M: I am fine. My article is about to be published on our school newspaper. W: Oh, that's great! But...you don't look very happy. What's going on? M: Some pictures I was supposed to attach to the newspaper have run into a little problem. I mean the photos developed are not clear. But the worst thing is that no one seems to know how to clean up and make them look perfect. W: Why not just publish the article without any pictures? M: No, I really can't do this because images are greatly required in order to capture students' attention to my article. Typically, younger readers like college students spend less time reading the newspaper than older readers. They would respond more favorably to interesting and informative pictures engaged in a story than to the scenario alone. So we need pictures to attract students to our newspaper. W: Yes, that makes sense to me. Magazines with more entertaining and colorful graphics usually attract a lot of young readers. So how much time is left before your article is published in the newspaper? M: I guess I have just one day left. W: Okay. Why don't you take some new pictures since youstill have some time? M: Maybe you're right! But there's only one day away from the scheduled day. Isn't it too late to take new pictures?涓冦€亄{B}}Speaking Question 6{{/B}}(鎬婚鏁帮細1锛屽垎鏁帮細20.00)ing points and examples from the talk, explain two strategies the professor gives for getting students to follow rules.锛堝垎鏁帮細20.00锛?/div>__________________________________________________________________________________________ 姝g‘绛旀锛?topic The professor gives two advices on how to have students followed rules set down by a teacher. example 1 First of all, the teacher should explain the rule asclearly as he can. When the professor was teaching first grade, she forbade students to eat and drink in class. Such rule is certainly unpopular and most students contract the rule at first. However, the students began to follow it when they had known such rule was laid clown to help them focus their attention and study better through her detailed explanation. example 2 The second approach is to have the students built up a personal relationship on the rule. The professor prevented her students from cheating by having them signed a piece of paper in which they promised they would not cheat in the exam, With such paper posted in the front of the room by the teacher, the students would not even try to cheat in the exam because of their self-respect,)瑙f瀽锛歔鍚姏鍘熸枃] W: Teachers have one of the toughest and most important jobs; therefore, it is critical to every nation's future to train good teachers. One key to being a good teacher is to set rules and boundaries for your students. But how do you get students to follow these rules? Here are two strategies you can employ. Firstly, it is important to explain the rule and why you are making it. Believe it or not, I used to teach at an elementary school. People don't like to be forced to do something, especially young children who think that teachers want to prevent them from having fun. So it's important to make them understand why a rule is in their best interest. Back when I was teaching first grade, I had a rule that prohibited eating or drinking in my class. In the beginning, lots of students didn't like it. But I explained that the rule was for their benefit. I didn't want them to be distracted by food during class or make a mess, which would interfere with their studies. After I told them my reasoning, my students began to follow the rule because they realized, it was for their own good. Another strategy is to make the students have a personal stake in the rule. Again, back in my elementary school days, I was very strict about cheating. But I didn't just have all the students say they will not cheat. Instead, I wrote a piece of paper saying that cheating was forbidden and made all the students sign it. I then posted it in the front of the class where everyone could see it. Because the students had made a promise using their names, their pride made it easier to uphold that promise. If they thought about cheating, they could see everyone's signatures in the front of the room and be reminded of how they should act.。

2014年托福考试写作必备范文
2014年托福考试写作必备范文范文的题目:American RevolutionThe American Revolution was not a sudden and violent overturning of the political and social framework, such as later occurred in France and Russia, when both were already independent nations. Significant changes were ushered in, but they were not breathtaking. What happened was accelerated evolution rather than outright revolution. During the conflict itself people went on working and praying, marrying and playing. Most of them were not seriously disturbed by the actual fighting, and many of the more isolated communities scarcely knew that a war was on.America’s War of Independence heralded the birth of three modern nations. One was Canada, which received its first large influx of English-speaking population from the thousands of loyalists who fled there from the United States. Another was Australia, which became a penal colony now that America was no longer available for prisoners and debtors. The third newcomer-the United States-based itself squarely on republican principles.Yet even the political overturn was not so revolutionary as one might suppose. In some states, notably Connecticut and Rhode Island, the war largely ratified a colonial self-rule already existing. British officials, everywhere ousted, were replaced by a home-grown governing class, which promptly sought a local substitute for king and Parliament.。

People drive cars more often and do not like to take the Amtrak. 听力逐一反驳:These reasons are unconvincing.1. The main purpose of Amtrak is not to earn money but to facilitate the transportation of the rural areas. People in these areas have the same right as those living in places that have accessible transportation routes.2. The government has already supported the airlines, eg, building the airline transportation control towers and offices.3. People do not like taking Amtrak because it is outdated, if the government invests in improving it, it will be more favorable and more people will take it. The professor gives examples of Japan and Europe, they invest a lot in high-speed rail lines and make it comfortable and fast, and thus people take this a lot and leave the cars at home.Task 2 INDEPENDENT 独立写作话题类别社会类考题文字:Do you agree or disagree with the followingstatement?Nowadays it is not important for people tohave meals with families regularly.
