Despite large investments by the Chinese government to improve the well-being of the population, progress remains limited. One of the main reasons being identified for the lack of progression is that numerous decisions making and practices are not based on evidence with the most up-to-date scientific data. More and more Chinese policymakers and researchers from various fields are seeking solutions from abroad. The purpose of this article is to organize and evaluate all interventions for elderly people by searching for existing global evidence, and categorized discussions. The article will be elaborated from the development, empirical foundations, barriers which inhibit the development of evidence-based practice and challenges to the development of evidence-based practice in health and social services.1 ObjectsPresent an analysis of the current situation of evidence-based practice in health and social services through evidence-based terms searching.2 MethodsWe reviewed systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and other EBP literatures published by January 2023.3 Search TermsIn this research, the following terms in both English and Chinese were used to identify relevant *Corresponding Author:Yunxu Zhang(2001-01), male, Han, Chongqing, MSW, Evidence-Based Practice science.115Journal of International Education and Development Vol.7 No.1 2023studies: Evidence-based medicine, evidence-based practice, evidence-based education, evidence-based policy, evidence-based assessment, evidence-based management, systematic review, meta-analysis.4 Literature SourcesAll the literature searches were conducted in the following sources: China Journal Full Text Database (CJFD), Chinese Scientific Journals Full Text Database (CSJD), Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (CBM), WANFANG Database, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews (CDSR), Campbell Library, Google Scholar. Additionally, the following two professional Journals were searched: Chinese Journal of Evidence-Based Medicine, China Journal of Social Work. The Chinese Journal of Evidence-Based Medicine is one of the peer review journals which guarantees the quality of the published studies.5 Search ResultsIn the Chinese databases, 894 items, 731 items, and 245 items as well as 89 items were identified in the China Journal Full Text Database, Chinese Scientific Journals Full Text Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database and WANFANG, separately. In the English sources searched for Chinese authors’ articles, 97 reviews, 126 protocols, 199 titles were found in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Review; Only 1 protocol was found in the Campbell Library, which was about communication education for older adults with hearing impairment(Zhg Bai, 2012). Totally 340 items were found in the Chinese Journal of Evidence-Based Medicine; while no systematic review was identified in the China Journal of Social Work. There were 1678 titles found in the Google Scholar. In the four main Chinese databases, we found 18 non-medical meta-analyses based on 15 RCTs and 92 quasi-experimental studies, and 167 expert comments on EBP in non-medical arena (e.g. education, management). The 18 non-medical meta-analyses were composed of 7 RCTs and 40 non-RCTs (Chinese trials) and 8 RCTs and 52 non-RCTs (studies from other countries). Chinese RCTs accounted for only 6.5% of the 18 meta-analyses.6 AnalysisUsing the terms systematic review, meta-analysis, evidence-based, we searched the Chinese Journal of Evidence-Based Medicine (2001–2012) and the CDSR (Issue 3, 2012). A total of 340 meta-analyses of RCTs was identified in the Chinese Journal of Evidence-Based Medicine. The published studies met the basic principles of a systematic review in terms of systematically literature searching, transparently study quality assessment, and critically inclusion and exclusion criteria making. Although the number of Cochrane systematic reviews (CSRs) in terms of full-text and protocols showed an increased annual trend, the publication rate and quality of CSRs’ were uneven in the different provinces of China because of the different understanding and the inconsistent attitude to the EBP(Jia et al., 2009).Using the search terms beginning with “evidence-based” (see “Search Terms”) systematic review, meta-analysis,we searched the published literature on EBP in the four main Chinese databases and the Campbell Library, as well as the China Journal of Social Work. All 18 meta-analyses belonged to the poor quality evidence according to the AMSTAR criteria, because most of the 18 meta-analyses only used the meta-analysis statistic software in computing the included trials but not systematically 116117Journal of International Education and Development Vol.7 No.1 2023and transparently reported the literature search process, as well as not assessed objectively the quality of included trials(Shea BJ, 2007). All of the included studies lack the details of trials’ design, implementation and reporting(Shea BJ, 2007). Only 1 protocol registered by Chinese authors in the Campbell Library was identified, which was about communication education for hearing impairment(Zhg Bai, 2012).7 Evidence OverviewGiven the above major problems, this paper into the long refers to all or partial loss of life to self-care ability, physiological part of the tissue or organ lesions to affect or limit mobility, and normal life of the elderly or behavior has certain difference, age in 60 years old and above, so this paper will suffer from chronic diseases affect daily life such as: stroke, coronary heart disease, diabetics and other diseases patients into long-term care of the old category, at the same time eliminate mental problems caused by chronic diseases such as: depression, sleep disorders, alzheimer's disease. It is found that there are 8 intervention methods of social work for the psychological problems of the elderly (as shown in Table 1). The top three published journals are mindfulness therapy, music therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, 17,15 and 15; 9 literature recall therapy, rational emotion therapy 7; game therapy, motivational interview and psychological counseling therapy, only 2. No therapy has systematic evaluation level evidence for the psychological problems of the elderly, only randomized controlled experimental level.Table 1 The evidence for the psychological problems of the elderly118Journal of International Education and Development Vol.7 No.1 20238 Research Objectives and Research ToolsFrom the study to solve the problem of the elderly, there are mainly nine aspects of psychological problems (as table 2).From the perspective of intervention issues, the most focused areas focused on the reduction of depression among the disabled or semi-disabled elderly. A total of 47 articles involved all or part of the improvement of depression in the elderly, and 37 articles covered the anxiety of the elderly; others include comprehensive symptoms, mood improvement, loneliness, etc. A total of 34 different scales, including SAS, SDS, HAMA , HAMD, SCL-90 and GDS, was used as outcome measures.Table 2 Intervention targets and tools for the psychological problems of the elderlyJournal of International Education and Development Vol.7 No.1 2023 In terms of literature sources, more than 90% of the literature source are medical and nursing journals, while only less than 10 journals are demographic subjects. Most of the published journals are general journals, and the number of journals published in North Nuclear or CSCD is 25, accounting for 20% of all published journals. Almost all the literature authors have medical or evidence-based medicine background, most of which are hospitals, and a few have some universities or evidence-based research centers.FundingProject Fund: Chongqing Talent Plan Project "Overview and Evaluation of Social Work Intervention in Elderly Health Self-management" (2021YC068)About the AuthorFeng Tong(1982-12), male, Han, Sichuan, Doctor, Evidence-Based Practice science.References[1] WHO. 2010. At its core, social work aims to help people overcome challenges, trauma and hardships so they can live fuller, more satisfying lives. As a student pursuing a degree in social work, I have come to appreciate themulti-faceted nature of this field and the breadth of roles social workers can play. The primary mission of social work is to enhance human well-being and help meet the basic needs of all people, with particular attention to the needs and empowerment of people who are vulnerable, oppressed, and living in poverty. This mission is rooted in the core values of the profession, including service, social justice, dignity and worth of every person, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence.Social workers operate at many levels - from working directly with individuals and families, to advocating for necessary policy changes within organizations and government. A key part of a social worker's role is empowering clients by helping them recognize their strengths, support networks, and access resources so they can improve their own circumstances. The overall goal is to help people develop the skills and confidence to eventually advocate for themselves. One of the unique aspects of social work is the sheer breadth of fields and populations that social workers assist. Some concentrations include child welfare and family services, healthcare, mental health and substance abuse treatment, schools, services for the elderly and disabled, and criminal justice. Within each of those areas, social workers may provide counseling, connect clients to critical resources and benefits, advocate for policies and services, research societal issues, or take on administrative roles.Whichever path a social worker takes, the ability to look at each client's situation through a person-in-environment lens is crucial. This perspective recognizes that an individual's behavior and life circumstances are influenced by a variety of factors across multiple system levels, including personal histories, familydynamics, social networks, communities, organizations, physical environments, laws and cultural norms. An effective social worker is adept at analyzing all of these influences to get a full picture and provide truly comprehensive services. For example, when working with a single parent experiencing homelessness, a social worker cannot just look at the immediate housing need. They must consider underlying factors like family history of poverty, lack of quality education, transportation barriers, mental health challenges, domestic violence and many other environmental stressors. The social worker then develops an action plan that addresses the full range of influences and helps empower the client long-term.To serve diverse populations, social workers rely heavily on theories of human behavior, including developmental, systems, conflict, feminist and other key perspectives. These theories inform social workers' interpretations of behaviors and situations, and drive decision-making around the most effective interventions and solutions. An understanding of research methods and policy development is also essential, so social workers can advocate for data-driven improvements to policies and programs affecting vulnerable populations.Building trusting relationships is paramount in social work. Some of the hardest moments are when rapport needs to be built with clients who have experienced trauma or feel guarded against support systems due to negative past experiences. Patience, empathy and exceptional communication abilities are vital skills that allow social workers to connect with their clients. While direct client services make up a huge part of social work, "macro" roles in administration, advocacy and policy development are equally valuable. Social workers who take on these responsibilities work to shape the very systems that impact clients. For example, an administrator at a non-profit organization develops programs and initiatives to address community needs. A policy analyst evaluates the societal impacts of legislation and advocates for policy changes to protect vulnerable groups. The overarching goal is to ensure ethical, equitable and effective systems are in place.Continual learning is a way of life for social workers. The knowledge base in the field is constantly evolving through new research, so social workers must commit to lifelong learning about human behavior, social issues, policies, interventions, and cultural competence. Seeking out professional development, collaborating with colleagues, critically consuming literature -these efforts allow social workers to remain current and uphold high standards of practice. The work is undoubtedly challenging, with social workers facing emotionally draining situations, bureaucratic constraints, limited resources and challenging ethical decisions on a daily basis. However, the ability to empower individuals and drive positive social change provides an incredible sense of purpose and motivation. Those drawn to social work must have an appreciation for diversity, a strong moral compass rooted in social justice, excellent problem-solving abilities and profound resilience.Looking ahead, the need for professional social workers continues growing due to factors like an aging population, rising rates of substance abuse and mental health crises, tightening social safety nets, and increasing inequality and hardship among vulnerable groups. Fortunately, universities are preparing the next generations to tackle these challenges through robust curriculums covering human behavior theories, policy, research methods, diversity, social justice and more.Overall, social work is a rewarding calling for those passionate about serving others and creating a more just, equitable society for all. The core values and multi-faceted rolesallow social workers to uplift human dignity and drive meaningful change in so many ways - whether throughone-on-one client work or efforts that transform systems and policies. It is an endlessly evolving field demanding critical thinkers, empathic helpers and tireless advocates fighting for the oppressed and disadvantaged. I feel privileged to be training for such a noble profession.篇3The Multifaceted World of Social Work: Exploring Its Content and NatureAs a student embarking on the journey of understanding social work, I have come to realize that this field is a vast and multifaceted landscape, encompassing a diverse range of roles, responsibilities, and societal impacts. Social work is not merely a profession; it is a calling that demands unwavering dedication, empathy, and a deep commitment to advocating for thewell-being of individuals, communities, and society as a whole. At its core, social work revolves around the provision of support, guidance, and resources to those in need. Their work transcends boundaries, cutting across diverse sectors such as healthcare, education, criminal justice, and community development. One of the most fundamental aspects of social work is its emphasis on human rights and social justice. Social workers strive to uphold the dignity and worth of every individual, recognizing that societal inequalities and systemic barriers can impede access to essential services and opportunities. Through their advocacy efforts, they aim to challenge discriminatory practices, promote inclusivity, and create environments that foster equity and empowerment. The content of social work is as diverse as the communities it serves. Social workers may find themselves working with individuals experiencing homelessness, supporting survivors of domestic violence, or addressing the unique needs of immigrant and refugee populations. They navigate complex family dynamics, assist with substance abuse recovery, and collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support. In the realm of child welfare, social workers play a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of children and families. Theyinvestigate cases of alleged abuse or neglect, provide counseling and support services, and work tirelessly to ensure that every child has access to a safe and nurturing environment. Their efforts not only address immediate concerns but also aim to break intergenerational cycles of trauma and promote long-term resilience.Mental health is another vital area where social workers make a significant impact. By providing counseling, therapy, and case management services, they help individuals navigate the challenges of mental illness, trauma, and emotional distress. Social workers collaborate with mental health professionals, families, and communities to destigmatize mental health issues and promote access to effective treatment and support resources. In the realm of community development, social workers engage with local organizations, grassroots initiatives, and policymakers to address systemic issues such as poverty, unemployment, and lack of access to essential services. They facilitate community empowerment by fostering leadership, mobilizing resources, and advocating for policies and programs that promote sustainable and equitable development. The nature of social work is inherently multidisciplinary, drawing from fields such as psychology, sociology, law, and public policy. Social workers must possess a diverse set of skills, including active listening, critical thinking, problem-solving, and cultural competence. They must navigate complex ethical dilemmas, maintain professional boundaries, and continually adapt to evolving societal needs and challenges.Effective social work practice is grounded in evidence-based interventions and research-informed approaches. Social workers rely on established theories, methodologies, and best practices to inform their decision-making and ensure the delivery of high-quality services. Additionally, they engage in ongoing professional development, staying abreast of emerging trends, policies, and research to enhance their practice and better serve their clients.Despite the immense challenges and emotional demands inherent in the profession, social work is a deeply rewarding and fulfilling endeavor. Social workers have the opportunity to witness firsthand the transformative power of their interventions, as individuals and communities overcome adversity and achieve greater well-being and self-sufficiency.。

如何改善社会福利英语作文
如何改善社会福利英语作文How to Improve Social Welfare。
Social welfare is an important indicator of a country's development and progress. It is a safety net for the disadvantaged and vulnerable groups in society. However, in many countries, the social welfare system is inadequate and needs improvement. In this essay, I will discuss some ways to improve social welfare.Firstly, the government should increase its investment in social welfare. This includes increasing the budget for social welfare programs, such as healthcare, education, and housing. The government should also establish a comprehensive social welfare system that covers all citizens, regardless of their income or social status.Secondly, the government should improve the quality of social welfare services. This includes improving thequality of healthcare services, providing better educationand training for social workers, and increasing the number of social workers. The government should also establish a system to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of social welfare programs to ensure that they are meeting the needs of the people.Thirdly, the government should promote social welfare awareness and education. This includes educating the public about the importance of social welfare and the services available to them. The government should also encourage the private sector to participate in social welfare initiatives and provide incentives for companies that contribute to social welfare programs.Fourthly, the government should establish a social welfare fund to provide financial support to those in need. This includes providing financial assistance to low-income families, the elderly, and people with disabilities. The government should also establish a system to monitor and evaluate the use of the social welfare fund to ensure that it is being used effectively. Finally, the government should promote social welfare research and development. This includes conducting research on social welfare issues, developing new social welfare programs, and improving existing programs. The government should also encourage collaboration between different sectors, such as academia, government, and the private sector, to promote social welfare innovation. In conclusion, improving social welfare is a complex and challenging task that requires the cooperation and effort of all sectors of society. By increasing investment in social welfare, improving the quality of social welfare services, promoting social welfare awareness and education, establishing a social welfare fund, and promoting social welfare research and development, we can build a more inclusive and equitable society.。

英文社会工作文献英文:As a social worker, I believe that our role is to empower individuals and communities to overcome challenges and achieve their goals. This involves building relationships with clients and understanding their unique circumstances, as well as advocating for their rights and connecting them with resources. One of the most important skills for a social worker is active listening. This means not only hearing what the client is saying, but also paying attention to their body language and emotions. By doing so, we can better understand their needs and concerns, and tailor our interventions accordingly.Another key aspect of social work is cultural competence. We must be aware of our own biases and assumptions, and strive to understand and respect thecultural backgrounds of our clients. This can involve learning about their traditions, beliefs, and values, aswell as recognizing the impact of systemic oppression and discrimination. In my experience, social work is a challenging but rewarding field. I have worked with clients from diverse backgrounds, including homeless individuals, survivors of domestic violence, and refugees. One example that standsout to me is a client who was struggling with addiction and had lost custody of her children. Through our work together, she was able to access treatment and support services, and eventually regain custody of her children. Seeing her transformation was incredibly inspiring and reinforced my belief in the power of social work.中文:作为一名社会工作者,我认为我们的角色是赋权个人和社区,克服挑战,实现他们的目标。
社会保障英语作文
社会保障英语作文Title: The Importance of Social Security。
Social security plays a pivotal role in the welfare of citizens worldwide, serving as a safety net against various economic uncertainties. It encompasses a range of benefits and programs designed to support individuals during timesof retirement, disability, unemployment, or otherunforeseen circumstances. In this essay, we will delve into the significance of social security and its impact on individuals and society as a whole.First and foremost, social security provides essential financial assistance to retirees. As individuals reach the age of retirement, they often rely on social security benefits as a primary or supplementary source of income. These benefits help retirees maintain a decent standard of living, covering basic expenses such as housing, healthcare, and daily necessities. Without social security, manyelderly individuals would struggle to make ends meet, facing poverty and financial instability in their later years. Moreover, social security offers crucial support to individuals with disabilities. Disabilities cansignificantly hinder one's ability to work and earn a living, making financial assistance vital for maintaining a decent quality of life. Social security disability benefits provide financial aid to individuals who are unable to engage in substantial gainful activity due to physical or mental impairments. By offering financial support and access to healthcare services, social security helps individuals with disabilities lead more dignified and independent lives.Furthermore, social security serves as a safety net for the unemployed. Economic downturns and structural changesin the job market can lead to periods of unemployment for many individuals. During such times, unemployment benefits provided through social security help alleviate financial stress and prevent individuals and their families from falling into poverty. These benefits not only supportindividuals while they search for new employment opportunities but also contribute to economic stability by maintaining consumer spending levels. In addition to its direct benefits to individuals, social security plays a crucial role in promoting social cohesion and stability. By ensuring that citizens have access to essential resources and support systems, social security helps reduce inequality and alleviate social tensions. It fosters a sense of solidarity among members of society, emphasizing the collective responsibility to support those in need. This, in turn, contributes to social stability and cohesion, fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.Furthermore, social security contributes to the overall well-being of the economy. By providing individuals with financial security, social security programs stimulate consumer spending and demand for goods and services. This, in turn, fuels economic growth and creates employment opportunities across various sectors. Additionally, social security benefits act as a form of automatic stabilizerduring economic downturns, helping to mitigate the impact of recessions by maintaining household incomes and sustaining demand.Despite its numerous benefits, social security faces challenges and criticisms. Demographic shifts, such as aging populations and declining birth rates, pose sustainability concerns for social security systems in many countries. Additionally, debates often arise regarding the adequacy of benefit levels, eligibility criteria, and funding mechanisms. Addressing these challenges requires careful policymaking and a balance between ensuring the long-term viability of social security systems and meeting the evolving needs of individuals and society. In conclusion, social security plays a crucial role in safeguarding the well-being of individuals and promoting social stability and economic prosperity. By providing financial assistance to retirees, individuals with disabilities, and the unemployed, social security programs alleviate poverty, reduce inequality, and foster social cohesion. However, ensuring the sustainability andeffectiveness of social security systems requires ongoing attention and adaptation to changing demographic, economic, and social realities.。

Effectiveness of social work intervention research: Internal versus external evaluations
Kevin M. Gorey
This meta-analytic review synthesizes the findings of 88 recent (1990 to 1994) independent studies of the effectiveness of social work interventions and compares the findings of those studies based on authors' assessments of their practice experience (internal evaluations) and other evaluators' assessments (external evaluations). Overall, social work interventions are effective; three-quarters of the clients who participate in social work interventions do better than the average client who does not. Also, the estimated rate of problem improvement among clients who experience an intervention and are assessed by social worker—researchers themselves is nearly 25 percent greater than the estimated rate assessed by other evaluators. Internal evaluations, which arise from workers' day-to-day assessments of their own practice and account for the vast majority of social work's knowledge base, may be thought to precede external ones. However, at some point in the development of knowledge, external evaluation may enhance confidence in the effectiveness of an intervention. Key words: bias; effectiveness; evaluation; meta-analysis; social work practice
n an era of political and fiscal conservatism in which cutting social welfare programs heads the agendas of most legislative bodies in North America, the question of social work's effectiveness is of paramount importance. Integrative empirical evidence is needed to continually demonstrate the profession's valuable contribution to the process of solving personal problems in living as well as larger social problems, especially to cogently refute the colloquial, stereotypical image of social workers as well-meaning but largely ineffective home visitors. This review of the effectiveness of social work interventions from studies done in the early 1990s replicates the findings of similar summaries from the 1970s and 1980s (Reid & Hanrahan, 1982; Rubin, 1985; Videka-Sherman, 1988)—that, in general, social work methods are effective. However, this review's findings also form the basis for a caveat that has not been reported by previous reviewers in this field—that social workers, like all other professionals, naturally evaluate their work in accord with personal, subjective standards. This article demonstrates this principle by comparing studies based on workers' assessments of their practice experience (internal evaluations) versus assessments by other evaluators (external evaluations) and asks two questions: (1) Are social work interventions effective? and (2) Do internal evaluators more favorably assess the effectiveness of their practice than external evaluators? I hypothesized that the average effect among internal evaluations would be significantly larger than that observed among external evaluations. REVIEWS OF SOCIAL WORK'S EFFECTIVENESS Before Videka-Sherman's (1988) meta-analysis, the reviews in this field were based on vote-count methods of summarization and focused almost exclusively on the issue of statistical significance (Hedges & Olkin, 1982). For example, the two earliest reviews of direct social work practice from the 1930s to the early 1970s found only eight of 32 effects statistically significant and so inferred the general ineffectiveness of social work
