笔者的建议是平常要善于思考。
我们身边每天会发生许许多多的大事和小事。
当这些事情发生时，学生就要进行思考，形成自己的判断，日积月累，就会形成自己的独立思维。
考试中看到作文题目的时候，就不会发愁无话可说，就不会出现“凑字数”现象了。
3．简列提纲审清题目，并形成自己的观点以后，学生就可以用十个关键词列提纲了。
列提纲写词的时候要依照一定的顺序，这样在行文过程中参照时就会一目了然。
实际上，这种列提纲的方式适用于大学英语四级不同体裁的文章。
下面我们来看几个例子：提纲式作文2010年6月作文题目Due Attention Should be Given to Spelling提纲：1）如今不少学生在英语学习中不重视拼写2）出现这种现象的原因3）这种现象导致的结果文章可根据提纲所呈现的内容分三部分来写，每部分可以列出如下关键词：Paragraph 1: insufficient attentionParagraph 2: language function/ emphasis (listening & speaking)Paragraph 3: spelling mistakes/ attitude以上提纲使文章思路清晰，文章分三个段落来写。
每个段落中心内容如下：第一段：Insufficient attention has been paid to spelling in English study. 第二段：There are two reasons: One is that students think that the function of a language is to communicate with others. 根据这一思路，我们可以列出如下的关键词来作提纲：Paragraph 1: free admission/ access & awarenessParagraph 2: crowd/ preservationParagraph 3: number control/ regulations/ maintenance在列提纲的过程中，学生也要考虑文章的重点应该在哪部分。
就本文而言，重心应该在第三段。
所以写作的时候应该在第三段用的笔墨最多。
写作的思路也很清晰：第一段指出越来越多的博物馆免费开放，其目的是让越来越多的人，尤其是经济条件有限的人有机会进入博物馆（即access），从而提高大众的文化和历史意识(即awareness, 具体来讲就是cultural and historical awareness)；第二段指出免费开放带来的问题，即大量人流（即crowd）涌入，会有噪音，从而影响博物馆的环境。
有人拍照，或有人肆意破坏，会影响到博物馆的安全，从而带来文物保护（即preservation）的相关问题；第三段提出自己的看法，博物馆免费开放应该提倡，但是每天应该限制人数(number control)，并制定严格的规章制度（即regulations），而且要经常维修维护（即maintenance）。
提纲列出之后，文章的层次、主次、各部分要涵盖的内容就会非常清晰了。
图表式作文图表式作文提纲也可以采取同样的方式来列。
示例如下：2002年6月作文题目Student Use of Computers提纲：1）上图所示为1990年、1995年、2000年某校大学生使用计算机的情况，请描述其变化；2）请说明发生这些变化的原因（可从计算机的用途、价格或社会发展等方面加以说明）；3）你认为目前大学生在计算机使用方面有什么困难或问题。
该图表所示信息明确，分析图表之后，按提纲所列三方面将文章分三段来写，各段关键词如下：Paragraph 1: dramatic increaseParagraph 2: increasing popularity, lower price, social developmentParagraph 3: improper use根据这些关键词列出提纲后，写作思路就会非常清晰：第一段描述学生使用计算机时间迅速增长（dramatic increase）的趋势；第二段从电脑越来越广泛的使用（increasing popularity）,越来越低的价格（lower price）以及社会发展（social development）对于计算机的需求几方面来说明发生这些变化的原因；第三段指出学生计算机使用中的问题，即improper use，如很多学生使用计算机打游戏，浪费很多时间。
应用型作文应用型作文，如书信、演讲稿等是大学英语四级作文中除提纲式作文之外的又一大类。
此类作文列提纲也可以使用同样的方式。
关键词列出提纲还可以提示学生在写作的过程中不漏掉信件中的任何一项内容。
示例如下：2002年1月作文题目A Letter to the University Presidentabout the Canteen Service on Campus要求：假设你是李明，请你就本校食堂的状况给校长写一封信，内容应涉及食堂的饭菜质量、价格、环境、服务等，可以是表扬，可以是批评建议，也可以兼而有之。
认真审题后，每部分可列出如下的关键词作为提纲：Part 1: writing purposePart 2: food variety, high price, environment, dissatisfactory servicePart 3: suggestions根据提纲提示，第一部分明示写信的目的；第二部分可以分一到两个段落来写，可以谈及食堂一些好的方面，如种类丰富，还可谈及一些差强人意的方面，如饭菜价格偏高，环境不是特别卫生，服务质量尚待提高等；第三部分可以提出一些改进意见，如加强监督，对食堂服务人员进行培训等。
当然，对于这类应用型作文，一定要提醒自己在行文过程中注意“5C”原则，即correctness（正确）, clarity（清晰）, conciseness（简洁）, courtesy（礼貌）, consideration（体谅）。
可以将这些原则写在提纲下面，随时提醒自己注意。
◆方法运用以上是用十个关键词列提纲的一些具体事例。
下面以2006年6月的作文为例，讲述如何在30分钟之内，审题、用关键词列提纲和成文。
2006年6月作文题目Students Selecting Their Lecturers提纲：1）有些大学允许学生自由选择某些课程的任课教师；2）学生选择教师时所考虑的主要因素；3）学生自选任课教师的益处和可能产生的问题。
审题后确定作文中要包括四个方面，文章的侧重可以应人而异。
确定这些之后，每个部分可以列出如下的关键词作为提纲：Paragraph 1: freedomParagraph 2: ethic devotion, knowledge, personalityParagraph 3: motivation (students/ teachers)Paragraph 4: learning effects提纲列出后,思路明晰,就可以行文了。
